Starcraft 2: Basic Four Gate Build

In Starcraft 2, the beginning of each battle is the most essential part. You need a set of strategies to be able to increase your skill and chance of winning. The Protoss race has a great set of beginning strategies, one of which being the Four Gate. The Four Gate is a strategy that has many bonuses

• Easy
• Fast
• Cheap
• Gives control of the map
• Quick transition

The Four Gate is a rush to build four Gateways as quickly as possible while keeping up your economy. For the best results complete each of the following steps as quickly, yet correctly, as possible.

First, you build up your probes until you have nine supply worth (which should be out of ten). You do this to get your economy up and running so that you have the resources that you need later in the game.

Once you get to nine supply worth of probes, build a pylon right next to your nexus. Build it on the side of the nexus closest to your base’s ramp. You build it right next to the nexus in order to save time, remember this is a rush.

At the same time that you are scouting build queue up three more probes at your nexus. When you have used up ten supply worth of probes use the chrono-boost ability, available at your nexus, on your nexus. Then you just need to wait for the probes to finish.

Once the probes finish you should be at twelve supply worth of units. When you get to twelve supply you need to build a Gateway next to the pylon. Once the Gateway is starting to build, build two more probes at the nexus and use chrono-boost on the nexus and send the probe that built it out to scout for the enemy base.

While the two probes are building you need to build an assimilator. As soon as the assimilator finishes you need to get three probes mining from it. Keep building probes.

Once you get to sixteen supply build another pylon. Keep building probes, its very important.

Once you get to eighteen build a cybernetics core. Also build an assimilator and when it finishes immediately get three probes mining from it. Once the cybernetics core finishes immediately start researching warp gates and use chrono boost on the cybernetics core. At the Gateway start building a stalker. Use your minerals to build three more Gateways. Once the warp gates finish warp in 4 stalkers and take them to the enemies base. While they are going to the enemies base build a pylon in the middle of the map.

Once the stalkers get to the enemies base attack. The first attack should succeed. If it doesn’t take your guys right outside of the enemies base. The whole time this is happeneing keep warping in units to the middle pylon and keep attacking. If the whole thing fails it leads to a perfect transition into colossus.
