Top Five Video Games for any Party Celebration – Make Your Gatherings Fun!
Party a little dead? Don’t worry! These five Video Games will make your party an event to remember.
Top 5 Best Video Games to Liven your Party Celebration
I don’t know about you, but if I see another Monopoly board I’m going to throw it at someone. Isn’t it about time we recycle those raggedy things?
Video Games are the new Board Games to play at parties. Nothing is more fun than competing in a good racing game with your family and pals, and maybe a little prize pool to gamble with (no real money for you, kiddos!). Below I have listed the Top 5 Best Video Games that would REALLY get your party rockin’.
5. Mario Party

This series was MADE for gatherings. Heck, it even has the word “Party” in the title!
The reason why I didn’t pick a specific game in the Mario Party franchise is because every single game is fun. It all depends on what kind of characters you want to pick, and what kind of minigames you’d like to play. Of course, all of them are fun, but my personal favorite is Mario Party 1 – an instant Party classic.
In Mario Party players are on a Virtual Marioland-themed Board. Each person rolls a dice that’s in the form of a brick square. Whatever number they pick is the number of times they hop on the board – a typical board game set up, really.
There’s a bunch of different tiles that a player can land on, and a plethora of minigames the players can try to win every match in exchange for coins. After a set number of matches, whoever has the most stars wins.
Doesn’t this sound fun to you?
4. Mario Kart 64

Now, before I begin, please don’t think I’m favoriting the Mario Franchise at all. They have some really crappy games too, but I think Mario Kart is definitely one of the best!
Unlike Mario Party where the players play a multitude of games, Mario Kart 64 focuses purely on racing. Players can defeat each other by leaving banana pieces, throwing red or green turtle shells, or even placing fake items to sabotage the other player. It’s really a great way to have fun (although I have to admit I feel like slapping whoever’s in 1st place at least once every party..).
3. Tekken Tag Tournament

I’m not usually a fan of fighting games when I’m playing by myself, but when a party comes along I don’t mind whipping the game out!
Tekken Tag Tournament is my favorite fighting game because it has really unique characters with very different fighting moves. It also maintains the reality aspect of things – no superpowers and gruesome fatalities like in Mortal Kombat games, and no animated cartoony-ness like Kingdom of Fighters. It’s just a bunch of angry people wanting to fight each other (with a bit of a storyline hidden in there..).
2. Sega GT 2002

There have been many racing games, but out of all of them I still think Sega GT 2002 takes the cake when it comes to fun value.
In this awesome racing game you compete with other players to, you guessed it, win the race! I mean, it doesn’t get anymore simpler than that. With a wide variety of tracks, car choices (that exist in real life, mind you), and automobile parts, it’s a great way to get the party raving.
1. Jet Set Radio Future

Jet Set Radio Future is my all-time favorite party game. There’s just something about the graphics, and the rebelliousness of this game that makes it such a fun game to play!
In JSRF Multiplayer, there’s City Rush, Ball hog, Graffiti Wars, Taggers Tag, and Capture the Flag.
- In City Rush, players have to navigate through the streets and complete a couple of laps to win the race.
- In Ball Hog, players have to work together to complete one lap, depending on where the ball was picked up.
- In Graffiti wars, players try to spray the walls of Tokyo, and whoever has the most graffiti points wins.
- In Taggers Tag, players try to spray the backs of their teammates. Last man standing wins.
- In Capture the Flag, whoever has the most flags wins.
This game is no way realistic – you can grind up electric polls and railings, and you can survive 500 ft drops and full on impacts from oncoming cars. But it’s this quirkiness that makes the game fantastic.
