New Super Mario Bros. Wii

I have spoken about the Nintendo DS in an earlier post of mine, and in that mentioned the popular and hit game New Super Mario Bros. featuring Mario and Luigi. The awesome thing is- the game has come to the Wii!

After finding out yesterday that it was to come in Autumn 2009 to the USA, I couldn’t wait to try it out. I haven’t actually played the game yet but I am surely dying to. Here are the reasons why-

1. Upto four players!

Well in the DS version, there could only be two players used, the main two, Mario and Luigi. When it comes to the Wii, four controls can be used! These four characters are Mario, Luigi, Yellow Toad and Blue Toad. The Multiplayer game is basically a battle for coins, so whoever gets them wins it all.

2. Yoshi’s back!

It’s a good thing that they featured Yoshi in the game. Yoshi is used in the game to be riden on by the other players. Yoshi can also use a special attack where he sticks out his tongue to kill enemies. And obviously there is never an awesome Mario game without Yoshi, is there?

3. New powerups!

In this game there are two new power ups. One is the propeller power up where you get a propeller on your head and when you move the joystick around and around, the propeller starts to move and your players slowly spins and moves up. Second is the penguin power up. This gives you the ability to shoot ice balls to freeze your oponents, and you can jump on the ice block they’re in before they fall and die!

There is much more to the game, that I really can’t describe. Improved graphics, better gameplay, way larger screen to play on and definitely way more excitement.
