A game guide covering many aspects of the game The Darkness for X Box 360 and PS3.
SECTION 1 – GUIDE EXPLANATIONS AND FORMAT
Brief Explanations
I have all collectibles listed in order of availability. Most can be picked up during any chapter of
the game, others are specific to that chapter (ie. letters) and yet others can only be found during
that story mission (ie. Whitefish pool hall) since the area will be blocked off upon completion. Some
collectibles are only available at a specific moment in time (ie. the collectable the worker/mobster
is sitting on in chapter 3) and so shouldn’t be passed by.
Therefore, if you follow the guide and pick up collectibles in order that they appear you’ll have your
achievement and all content unlocked
.
Guide Format
Collectibles in the game are numbered but, not in order and trying to determine which ones you might
have missed can be confusing as well as aggravating. To make things easier I’ve included the
following: the chapter in which they can be found, the map location according to your sub-screen map,
a brief description on its location, the name of the person/company you will reach when dialing the
number, and which content will be unlocked
.
The latter (description of the content unlocked) was an afterthought and I started taking notes part
way through the process, so there might be only a few errors or discrepancies if any at all
.
The exception to this format is the Otherworld levels since all mail is posted at once and individual
content is difficult to determine. However, the set content is listed at the end of the chapter
.
SECTION 2 – PHONE NUMBER COLLECTIBLES GUIDE
Chapter 1
GRAVES END CONSTRUCTION SITE
#1 After your car crash, get your pistols, shoot off the lock and go through the door, on the ground

#89 During the 2nd lift ride, jump off to 2nd level before reaching the top floor, go around to end

TRINITY CHURCH
#29 Go back to the basement where you first entered the cemetery, walk back until you find a room

SECTION 3 – ACHIEVEMENTS GUIDE
I don’t go through all the achievements here. Most are fairly straight forward, others are for online
play. I do however, list the single player achievements in which items must be found or missions must
be completed. I apologize for any misconceptions or inconvenience
.
HEART OF GOLD ACHIEVEMENT
George Hadel-Canal St Station – Chapter 1
Convince Scarr to leave Hadel alone. Scarr is also in Canal St. Station, down the steps
and leaning against the pillar to your right.
Ingrid Pulanski-Fulton St Station – Chapter 1
Help her find her bracelet. Drop down to the tracks and look behind you, it should be
flashing. Easy but, just watch for the trains coming in.
Charlene Warburton-Fulton St. Station – Chapter 1
She makes a bet with you to get the coins she throws on the tracks before you get
splattered. Somewhat tricky. Try to watch where the coins land, then start mashing
the A Button while moving around the are they fell.
Jimmy the Grape-Canal St Station – Chapter 3
You must find the informers list and assassinate the informer. Go to Grinder’s Lane to
the apartment building on the left. Take care of the cops, then do the dirty deed in
room 261.
George Hadel-Canal St Station – Chapter 3
Retrieve his harmonica from Scarr. Go to Lower East Side. Take care of Scarr and his thugs.
Vinny mortarello-Fulton St Station – Chapter 3
He has several Assassination missions for you. Not hard as he tells you exactly where
to go. The exception being the last hit. For that one go to Gun Hill. Just before you
enter Eddie Shrote’s apt look up and to the right. You’ll see 2 windows there. Use
Creeping Dark power on the unsuspecting surveillance man and enjoy the irony of it all.
Mitch Deval-Fulton St Station – Chapter 3
Not much to this one. Simply talk with him about his brother upon returning from the Turkish
Baths after the evidence briefcase mission.
Charlie Hazelgrove-Village/Fulton St Station – Chapter 4/5
Before you take the Tank Ride speak with Charlie in the sewers during Chapter 4. He
gives you a bracelet for his wife. During Chapter 5 take the bracelet to Fulton St
Station and give it to Mrs. Hazelgrove.
Little Petey- Fulton St/Canal St Stations – Chapter 5
Take the message from Little Petey in Fulton St Station to Mickey Famiano in Canal St
Station.
Dana Cutrone-Canal St Station – Chapter 3 or 5
You have to get her apt keys back from her ex-boyfriend. Go to Chinatown, exit the subway
and walk straight to the T-Intersection, enter the alley in front of you until you reach
the chain link fence. The door to the apt is behind the fence.
Terence Willis-Canal St Station – Chapter 3 or 5
You have to kill gang members. Go to Lower East Side. The gang hangs out in the Whitefish
Pool Hall parking lot.
Lucas Hellinger-Canal St Station – Chapter 3 or 5
First complete the Terence Willis side mission and talk to him about helping you win at
cups. Now talk to Lucas Hellinger and use the DISTRACT HIM option..
Enzo Scardina-Canal St Station – Chapter 5
Simply take the briefcase he gives you and switch it with the one in Fulton St. Station.
Frank Rottenberg-Trinity Cemetery – Chapter 5
Retrieve Franks insulin from inside the cemetery bathroom. Either jump over the wall
using the small rooftop next to the subway entrance, or use creeping dark..
Alfred Blackmoore-Canal St Station – Chapter 5
Retrieve the apt keys from Dana Cutrone who is now back in her apt in Chinatown.
(must do dana cutrone side missions first).
SOMEONE IS WAITING BY THE PHONE ACHIEVEMENT
Scattered throughout the game are phone numbers that can be found on posters and such. Dial these
numbers to receive the achievement. The following are phone numbers I’ve found. There might be
others but, I got the achievement from dialing these.

SECTION 4 – DARKLING OUTFITS
Potato Sack Outfit
CHINATOWN-Straight ahead from subway exit.
Jungle Outfit
HUNTERS POINT ALLEY-Exit whitefish pool hall, there is a door along the left wall, above
is a vent, use creeping dark to gain entry.
Fireman Outfit
GRINDER’S LANE-During Jimmy the Grape’s witness assassination side mission in Chapter 3
Exit the subway, turn left, then left again and enter the door to the apt building,
its in room 261.
Construction Outfit
GUN HILL-During Vinny Mortarello’s elimination missions in Chapter 3
Just before you enter Eddie Shrote’s apt building, look up and to the right you will see 2
windows, use creeping dark to reach them, the outfit is on the right as you enter the window.
Road worker Outfit
OLD CITY HALL-At far end of entrance platform, in broken down train.
Lumberjack Outfit
CHINATOWN-Dana Cutrones apt, during her side mission in Chapter 3
Get mission from her in Canal St. Station, go to Chinatown, exit subway and walk straight to
the T-Intersection, walk into the alley ahead of you until you reach the chain link fence,
the door to the apt building is behind it.
SECTION 5 – OTHER COLLECTABLES
TRINITY CEMETERY
Shiny Trinket- From Frank Rottenberg after doing side mission (not sure yet what the Trinket is for).
