Tips for The Altador Cup

In the growing excitement of the Altador Cup there may be a necessity for everyone to remember a few basic ground rules regarding their behaviour in the upcoming carnival atmosphere. We all know that as the Cup gets closer and closer that tensions are going to start rising, and once the Cup gets into full swing all sorts of raucous behaviour will start occurring. Remember – it’s meant to be fun!

Neopets who have completely clean records and are normally very mild natured will get the sudden urge to throw slushies at their opponents, and we don’t even want to know what the more volatile Neopians are suddenly capable of. So in preparation for this I have prepared a set of guidelines for neopets and owners alike.

·         Slushie throwing is bad. It is acceptable as part of the competition, but as soon as you take that apron off then the slushies need to stay on the counter. However satisfying it may feel to land a slushie against an opposing team supporter, particularly  when they have just landed a goal against you, this is not considered good form. This kind of behaviour is deeply frowned upon, and talking from experience will often lead to revenge attacks which are even more irritating when you get a slushie in the face due to another member of your teams indiscretions.

·         Kidnapping members of opposing teams or supporters of opposing teams is very bad. This is not only considered exceptionally bad form but is also a smidgeon illegal and will lead the Defenders of Neopia being on your tail. Well, and the rest of the Neopia, in particular the remaining supporters of the team you have targeted. Trust me, being chased by hordes of Darigan supporters is seriously not fun.

·         Throwing random yooyu’s onto the pitch for the pure entertainment factor may be heaps of fun in the short run, but creates chaos in the match and will make you severely unpopular with both sides in the game. Even the referee will be irritated with you as it makes it very difficult to keep track of what was actually a goal. If you get caught, and anyone buying yooyu’s during the game are kept track of, then you are probably looking at a season ban from the entire Cup.
