Spore Galactic Adventures: Tips to Creating Great Adventures

Are you having trouble getting people to actually want to play the adventures you create? Even though you went through all the trouble to make it? Well, I’m about to tell you the secret to making “WOW! That was fun!” adventures.

      If your reading this then you really want to figure out how to create some amazing Spore adventures. Well, don’t look any further because this weird, over happy article is where your going to get your questions answered.

< Adventure Name: Path of the Dragon>

        Ok the first and most important thing that you Must absotutely do not do in a million years!!!!!! Is to rush the creation your adventure. Rushing will cause your adventure to be pathetic and a waste of time. Think back to your first bad adventure… You get onto spore and get a mission to go to a planet and check it out, after downloading the dumb thing for 10 minutes (not everyone has DSL) you finally get to play it. You start the mission feeling so excited to get started…. Then BOOM!!! It beats your hopes and dreams into the ground, and then torches the pieces. And I can guess what you did next. You rated it poorly.

        Have you ever enjoyed going through something like that? I didn’t think so. Now ask yourself this, if your the kind hearted person that you make yourself out to be, why would you wnat to make other people go through that same process. By rushing your doing just that! People can really tell if you’ve taken you time with your creations. So long story short, take your time with you adventures (I mean a couple days time depending on the complexity.)

        Creativity is also very important when creating your adventures. Think of something that no one has thought of doiong before. There are a lot of adventures out there so being creative isn’t always easy but it’s what seperates you from the competition. ‘Step Lightly’ is a great example of using your creativity to allow your players to really get into the game. If you’ve played a lot of adventures you know that only a few are actually creative. They often are very poor quality, pathetic, and well BORING! Create a game that is so different people will want to play it because of how fun it is.

        The best way to get people to rate your mission high is to make sure that it’s beatable by EVERYONE. This means even the weak and insignificant lower ranked captains. Who wants to go through the process of downloading a mission only to find that they need to shoot a bad guy or fly over wall when they don’t have the tools necessary to do that. I know I don’t!  To do this you have to make sure that if it’s too hard for the normal captain that you lock it to a captain that can beat it. Also make sure that you keep the level as flat as possible (sometimes a few captains can’t even jump so they can get stuck on a ledge and can’t move).

Final Notes:

-Don’t rush take your time
-Make sure to be as creative as possible
-It must be beatable by everyone

Troubleshooting Adventure Problems:

-Play through it several times to make sure there is nothing wrong with it
-Once you solve all problems have another person play it (trust me they’ll find problems that you could never find)

Quality Assurance:

-Take your time
-The buildings are completely on the ground
-You use correct punctuation and capitalization in titles and descriptions of the acts
-Music is added to every act (unless not desired)
-You take pictures of your adventure to post on the spore server (I definaltely recommend doing this because people who take pictures 99.9% of the time get more players than those who don’t)
