Get beamed up aboard the USS Enterprise in this new game published by EA Inc. This action packed, space age shoot out is based on the summer Star Trek blockbuster movie. Here, YOU are the captain of the USS Enterprise. You fly through space stretching out the final frontier as you race to complete various missions.
This game is easy to jump into, even for non-Trekkies. The game features an auto fire option that helps new players focus on the flight path and less on aiming. Developing skill and accuracy come with time. Characters from the film make on screen cameos to give helpful mission objectives. The on screen action is intense, with smooth animation and bright colors enhancing the graphics. Use power ups to increase the abilities of your ship – including speed, energy and firepower. Even during the intense firefights, be sure to pick up items and new weapons as they come in pretty handy in a pinch as you battle to survive against Romulan and Klingon fighters.
You can also make customer upgrades to the USS Enterprise. Using acquired stars from successfully completed missions to enhance the ship’s shields, torpedoes, phasers, and tractor beam. There is even a records screen to which you can save your high score and achievements.
The Star Trek game is available on most mobile devices, including the Nokia 7205
Intrigue, and as such there are a variety of ways of controlling the onscreen action. You can use the keypad for your standard devices. However, with touch screen models such as the Versa by LG, you can actually drive the onscreen action right from the screen itself. Here’s a hint, use your stylus, it allows you to deftly control the flight path of the Enterprise with pin point accuracy while also offering you an unobstructed view of your enemies movements in order to anticipate them.
I give Star Trek four out of five joysticks. This game has it all and is a definite must have mobile experience for players of about 8 and up. It can be downloaded through your carrier for around $3.99 monthly access. Some carriers even also offer an unlimited use purchase for about $7.99.
So power up your phone, download this game, and prepare to boldly go where no man has gone before right from your wireless handset!
