How to Get Link’s Sword in Zelda Link’s Awakening Dx

This article is about the Gameboy color game called Legend Of Zelda Link’s Awakening DX. Follow this guide to get you through the first part of the game. Just like many of the other Legend Of Zelda games, you start out with virtually nothing. Use the strategies here to find Link’s sword and start your adventure.

When you first start a new game of Legend Of Zelda Link’s Awakening, Link will wake up in a bed inside of an unknown house. The girl who talks to you is the first character in the game, Marin. She tells you that you are on an island called Koholint, and you washed up on the beach. Marin tells you that you should follow the path south to the beach and to be careful. Don’t leave the house yet, talk to the other guy inside.

The other guy looks like Mario, but this is not Mario from the Super Mario Brothers games. He tells you his name and he is apparently Marins dad. He will give you your first shield of this Zelda game. Take the shield and exit outside of the house. The shield will be automatically equipped to the B button. You will need this as you make your way south to the beach area. Follow the advice that Marin gave you before leaving.

Outside of her house, you will see a brown path. If you are playing Legend Of Zelda Link’s Awakening DX, everything will be in color. The first Zelda Gameboy game was in black and white, but this remake was created in full color for the Gameboy color. Anyhow, take the path that is going to the west. Keep following this path and it will turn to the south. Continue to the south and you will see some kids throwing a ball around.

It’s not really necessary to talk to a lot of people or go inside of any houses yet, but if you want to do a little exploring its ok. However, right now, your main focus should be on finding your lost sword. Without it, you’ll never be able to finish this entire Zelda game. Continue following the path south and jump down off of the ridges. Eventually you will see the beach area with a couple of Octoroks.

You won’t be able to kill them just yet, but you will be able to defend yourself with the shield. Take the screen next that is on the east, to the right of you. You will see a sign that says “beware of the sea urchins”. You can push the sea urchins out of the way by using your shield. You’ll see two sea urchins blocking a path on the beach that is going south. Use your shield and move one of the sea urchins out of the way. You will need to hold down the B button to use your shield to move them out of your way.

On the next screen you will see the ocean, and there will be a lot of enemies around. Now you want to go on the next screen to the east. You will see your sword in the water. Pick up the sword and it will be added into your inventory. Just before you take the sword, an owl will swoop down and tell you the legend of Koholint Island and the Wind Fish. The owl tells you that you need to go north into the mysterious woods next.

Do you recognize the owl? Legendary video game developer Miyamoto must have taken the owl from this game, and put it into The Legend Of Zelda Ocarina Of Time. After you get the sword, the classic Legend Of Zelda overworld theme will start playing. Don’t forget to save your game. To save your Legend Of Zelda game hold down select and start, and the hold down the A and B buttons while you are holding down Select and Start. You will then see the save screen menu. Save often in this Zelda game.

This is how you find Link’s sword in Legend Of Zelda Link’s Awakening DX. This classic Zelda game has only been released two times. It was originally released for the Gameboy system, and then once again in full color for the Gameboy color. Why isn’t Zelda Link’s Awakening available for download on the Nintendo Wii? Nintendo needs to start adding classic Gameboy games to the Nintendo Wii. Thanks for taking the time to read this article.
