Batheo – Online Mmorpg

Introduction

There are now many role playing games on Internet.  I recently came across this game from an advertisements in Facebook.   I tried the game and found it has some interesting features and wanted to share it here.

• It is a web based game using Flash.  This allows you to play the game in muliple platforms including an Android phone.
• It comes with some interesting history.  It uses a lot of the heroes from Greek mythology.
• It provides a chance to use different kind of heroes with different strengths.

The Game
Based on what I have seen in the game so far, there are a few items that are important:

• Dachmas – You earned this from Levy and selling items.
• Gold – When you perform levy, you sometimes earn gold as well.  Also when the levy is performed there are questions that can either earn you drachmas, gold or prestige.
• Prestige – This is obtained at higher level which will grant you status which in term will also provide you a daily salary of drachmas.
• Laurels – you earn this when participate in expeditions (fights).  This is used to upgrade technologies for your fighting skills and also for training your heroes.

Assembly
The level of your assembly determines your level.  However, don’t upgarde your assembly too fast.  Initially when you have unlimited soldiers.  Try to level up your heroes in line with your assembly otherwise, you will be put in a situation where you can be attacked and are too weak to defend yourself.
Heroes
Choose your heroes carefully.  Each hero has their own strength.  When you click on the hero, it will tell

• the type of troops comes with that hero.
• what the hero does (attack, healing etc)
• B.M. (attack type for non mages).

Equipments
Each equipment has a minimal level for use.  I am not sure what binding an equipment does but when you bind the equipment, you need to unbind it before you can sell it.  The unbinding process takes more than a day.
As you enhance a weapon, it becomes stronger.  Enhancing an equipment will cost drachmas.  If you are short of drachmas, you can also degrade the equipment.  Only level 1 weapons can be sold, so you need to degrade all enhancement before you can sell it.
Prestige
Prestige will come at a later level.  There are a few ways of earning prestige:

• use laurels to get prestige.
• through some of the questions during the levy process.
• win fights with players from other fractions.

It is probably not worth buying prestige using laurels.  You can use it to train your heroes and improve your technology.
Technologies
Technologies becomes available when your assembly is high enough.  Different technologies will provide different advantages.  Read the description.  Some are required to win certain fights.  For example, you need Lochoi to defeat Paris.
Leveling
As you level up the assembly, different features will open up.  However, these features comes with a cost.  For example, at level 15, you need crops to recruit soldiers (luckily, there are also free volunteers), at a later level, defeats also cost divinity.
Divinity
Divinity are consumed when you fight.  There are some waivers that will renew from time to time.  However, once you use up all the divinity, you cannot participate in any expedition.  You earn a divinity at least one every hour.
