Dark Orbit: The Hunting Configuration

This is a simple tank configuration you can use while hunting the other company’s ships in Dark Orbit.

Welcome to this quick tutorial on how to set up a solid Hunt Configuration. This will allow you to hunt aliens , as well as other ships. I found it highly effective and thought I would pass on what I had been taught.

FIRST STEP:Equipping your Ship

Of course, if you play Dark Orbit, you know that you have two different configurations you can use while fighting in this fast paced star ship game. So here is how they should look for this setup:

 Configuration 1:

Ship:   13 speed generators and 2 Bo2 shields , All LF-3 Lasers.

Drones:  All equipped with LF3 Lasers.

Pet: Bo2’s, LF3’s, and your box looter on ( because the cargo boxes will dropping so fast you will not want to waste time picking up the cargo, let the pet do it for you!!!).

Configuration 2:

Ship: 5 to 8 Speed generators. Fill the rest of the slots with Bo2s, and all LF-3 Lasers as well.

Drones: 4 Drones with B02s, and four drones with LF-3 Lasers (it was noted that some preferred 6 with Bo2’s,  and 2 drones with LF-3 Lasers.ng drained of all of its shields

Pet; Same as configuration 1

How to use it:

First step : Attack alien or ship using SA Bs. This will keep your shield perfect, while the enemies ship is getting drained of all of its shields, and damaged by your Hell storm Rocket Launcher, and at least PLT-2026 Rockets. When the victims shields are all the way down, you can then switch from SA Bs to any X size laser, and then you can have your pet collect the box!

What I thought:

This is a very nice way to hunt! I will say it took me about thirty minutes to get the timing down , and once I did, I was killing this faster and more effectively than before I started using this method.  The one and only downfall I see is the SA Bs. They are 1 iridium per round. So it is a costly con fig, but definitely worth it once you get the feel of it.
