Disney’s Animal Kingdom Explorers

Another Facebook hidden object game, but this one has the juggernaut of Disney behind it.

You start off in a Savannah like setting and the first thing you get to click on to hunt through is the Tree of Life. Whats interesting about this game is I kind of feel like I’m learning stuff while I waste time. The first scene from the Tree of Life was a Cypress Swamp. It was full of animals and things that you might actually find there, not just random crap spread all over the place in a jumble. That’s different right there, and the pace of it isn’t quite so frenzied. No timer, or any little reminders to take your turn. As you play you earn more animals and stuff to add to your own animal preserve.

Like all Facebook games the game encourages you to invite your friends for more points and play times. It also has an energy bar (bleck) and has quests to complete and points to earn to advance in levels. You can earn points by completing levels in the ‘finding’ I Spy portion of the game, and by ‘buying’ things with the game money and adding to your preserve.

All in all the game is fine, a good I Spy sort of game, with a little bit of logic and education thrown in. At the very least it isn’t another ’spooky’ house with a lost relative and tons of obscure and weird junk lying around. Animals, I can do.

I give it four stars, despite the fact that it was created with the Disney Empire and Evil corporate mouse.
