There are a few ways to get resources in the game evony. One way is to buy resources from other players through the marketplace. But the easiest way to make resources is to make a resource city.

A resource city is a city that focuses on generating one of the four resources which are food, lumber, stone and iron. Food is generated from building a farm on a resource field. Lumber is generaated from building a sawmill on a resource field. Stone is generated from building a quarry on a resource field. Iron is generated from building an ironmine on a resource field. You can build more than one resource building, or you can decide to upgrade that building (you can say build 3 farms lvl 1 and then you can upgrade all to lvl 2){you do not have to choose between building more than one building or upgrading your building.

the best thing to do is to resource all four in a balanced manner.
