Your calculations are wrong for corn:

    Should be .0435 Exp/Hour

    Same for cotton

While the formula for Exp/Hr may be right, the guide seems wrong.
Corn is ranked #2 compared to Grapes at #11 for most exp/hr.
However, in 3 days my grapes will yield 9 exp (3 per harvest), and my corn will only yield 3 exp.

Corn and Cotton should not be above Ghost Chilli… you should look at your exp/hour list again… it is not in correct order…

why is corn/cotton (0.0434 Exp/Hour) so high up the list at the top?
that is way less than cranberries (0.2 Exp/Hour), aloe vera ( 0.3 Exp/Hour), pumpkins (0.25 Exp/Hour) and many others

Fixed, i dont know HOW i missed that. They’re penultimate now :)

Brian, the exp comes from plowing, not harvesting raspberries.

@ JJ he is including the experience gaind from ploughing in the exp section which is why strawberry is 2 and raspberry is 1 exp, so he has actually got it right.

    I have a question – and a possible typo.

When looking at your list for exp vs time when I saw that you had Strawberry – 4 Hours – 2Exp – 0.5 Exp/Hour.

When I look at my market, strawberries only give 1Exp. Does this change later in the game?

Another thing that has helped me on plowing/planting…turn your “eye” off in the upper left hand. Makes the picture fuzzier but cursor responds quicker.

Also log into FB homepage then open another window and go to “www.farmville.com” and hit “play”. This puts all the “freebies” from your neighbors in one spot…I was missing them on FB. I also have less “out of synch” errors this way.

Poinsentia gives 3exp (+1exp plowing) like Peas. So it’s in the same place like Peas. :)

A better calculation is the amount of Xp plus the amount of money to get a full look at how much XP you’re actually getting. Anytime you spend money, you get XP. There are even ways to maximize that XP gain (the plant soy beans, delete plots, repeat process). Long story short…I’d be interested in knowing how well I’d do if I planted peas once a day for a week, then took all that cash and did soybeans. And if instead I took that cash and built the biggest building I could afford.

Yeah, I agree with both parties.
    1) It takes time and effort to inform everyone and we all make mistakes. Thanx for the effort.
    But
    2) If you are gonna do it, check it before you put it up and make sure it’s correct.
My biggest issue is this is just copied from farmville.

The real winner over the same period is Strawberries.
Cost 10 coin get back 35. 1Exp point and 1Exp for plowing.
Over a twelve hour period checking in every four hours =
    105 coin and 3Exp + 3 Exp plowing.

Problem now is the star system but for shear money and Exp points ratio over an equal amount of time Strawberries can not be beaten.

While I agree that this is all mostly correct, don’t forget the point that if you plant high profit crops, you can buy things like hay bales and larger items and achieve solid xp that way. For example, peas give a far higher profit, so if you take the extra money you can make per hour and invest it in high xp purchased items, you can get up to .5 xp depending on the size of farmland.

  46. Posted February 28, 2010 at 4:13 pm

[[TLDR: My goal is to reach 70 ASAP. I am doing so by planting Peas, as they yield the most XP and Coin(which I turn into XP) with the least amount of hassle. Harvesting and planting every 4 hours doesn't work for me.]]

My farm is 22×22, my crops take up all 484 squares, and the parameter is taken up by whatever trees are gifted to me.

The XP/Hour charts are acurate only if you take the coin profit and do nothing with them. To receive the most XP for your time spent growing crops, you have to factor in the coin profit. The reason I say this is because for every 20 coins you make you can earn another 1 experience point. (Hay Bales 100coins = 5xp)

In theory the plant that earns you the most coin in a day will yield the most XP in the long run. If you look at Blackberries, every 4 hours you can earn (on a 22×22) 968xp and 13,068 coins. Which comes out to be 1621 xp per hour/9728 xp per day; 5808xp from harvesting/planting and 3,920xp from buying 78,400 coins wortk of Hay Bales.

However, each cycle you miss costs you 1621 xp. During my usual work day I would miss three cycles and as a result only earn 4865 xp per day. So to avoid that loss of efficiency I simplified my crop cycle and I just plant 484 Pea seeds every day when I get in from work. The profit I earn from them combined with the raw xp gained from planting them gets me right around 6200 xp per day. That’s 1936 xp from planting/harvesting and 4259 xp from the Hay Bale purchases.

That’s 62% of a level every day. If you really want to increase your rate of experience gain, have your friends gift you Olive Trees. You earn 28 coins per day per tree (112 coins every 4 days). If you get 136 Olive trees in the empty spaces you will gain just over 10,000xp per day or 1 level per day.

Now the tedious part is clicking on every single square three times to plant your crops, which is why I have a macro that does it for me. Thanks to AC Tools. I also have a macro that buys, places, and deletes Hay Bales in groups of 75. The Hay Bale cycle takes 102 seconds, which gains me 375xp per cycle. That turns out to be 13,235.3 xp per hour just by buying and deleting Hay Bales.

If you have any questions or want the scripts for my macros shoot me an email at tris84@gmail.com.

    Posted June 5, 2010 at 10:36 am

    @Dan

You are using coin to get XP and that is cool, you are paying almost double what you could be paying. The hay bales cost a total of 95 after you sell it back….that is 95 coins for 5XP=19 coins for each XP.

On the other hand you can plant soybeans that cost you 30 total coin, and get 3XP=10 coin for 1XP. Delete and repeat. You’ll get nearly twice the XP from the same coin using the soybean method.

    @James Vernon

At the moment Blackberries are the best plant. If you use a simple formula like taking the coin/hr. for any plant, then multiply it by the xp/hr. you get a number. That number can be used to determine efficiency of any plant in the game. While Pea will produce the best coin/hr, it’s xp/hr is quite low.

    Example: (higher is better)
    Pea 7.652 Coins/Hour X 0.17 Exp/Hour= 1.300
    Blackberry 6.75 Coins/Hour X .5 Exp/Hour= 3.375 <—-clear winner

For a newb reading this, raspberries can be planted early in the game and should be used until you get blueberry, then blackberry. Doing this makes the highest return on your time.
