Getting Started
When you first begin, all the new controls may seem a little hard to grasp. You will grow accustomed to them quick. Here is a fast overview:
-Click & Drag will move the camera
-Clicking will:
– Plow a patch of fallow land
– Bring up the market when plowed land is clicked
– Bring up more options on Trees, Animals, Buildings. Etc.
-The Plow tool at the bottom will allow you to plow grass areas, which you will need to do to expand and plant more over time!
When beginning, you will receive a short intro – Anyway! However, i hope that this cleared some controls up.

Fastest Levels
The quickest way to level is easily by planting berries*. By continually planting strawberries you get (If you have a 12*12 farm) 288 Exp Every 4 hours. This is the very fast way. But obviously this is mainly used at the weekend unless you can check your farm and spend 20 minutes harvesting, ploughing and planting every hour. Naturally – if you’re in it for the levels and not the money – you can plough as much land as possible and continually plant on them. To get the most effective Exp Out of a plot you could leave a section of your farm plowed without seeding it and then plant soybeans (Best crop for what we are about to do) .Delete the Patches, And repeat, as many times as desired. This will cause you to gain Exp for the plowing and the planting, then being able to do it again on a empty plot.
Alternatively, pumpkins Or Rice if you spend a full 11 hours at work. If this is the case you need alternative methods of making Exp. Here are some:
Wanting fast levels means you wish to spend money on it. Buildings yield a lot of experience – however will cost you a large amount of your money. Eg. A windmill is bought for 100,000 Coins and Given 1,000Exp. Or 1% of what you paid…In Exp!! (An imaginary building cost 750,000 – You get 7,500Exp)
Finally, Helping 20 neighbours a day although somewhat dull, yields a maximum of 100 Exp for 20. (See the Assisting Section). In addition, the newly released Achievements (See section) gives great Exp as well as some money to spend on more Exp!!!
*Raspberries do not appear to give ANY Exp for planting. However, they give the same EXP (Over 4 hours) as strawberries from Plowing – Just more money!
Fastest & Most Money
To get the most money from your farm you want to not always plant the most expensive seed you can. The seeds that give the largest amount of cash are listed in the “Best Crop for Money/hour” At the top of the page. The higher the level you are, the better crops you can plant. So find the highest seed you can plant on the list and that will be your best money maker! You should also be sensible. If you know you are going out don’t pick the seed that will make the most money and will be harvest-able an hour before the predicted time you get home – Pick one that is slightly over your estimated time so nothing does go wrong!
Some seeds like Peppers, and Rice and Pumpkins are the best profit for the time they are planted (Best money per day) Also – To get an extra boost in money, Refer to the “Assisting” section
Finally, the newly released Achievements (See section) gives great Money!
Peas are now the best thing to plant. Harvesting in 1 Day and making a profit of 176 Coins Each. (70,400 Coins for a 20*20 Farm!)

Best of both Money and Exp
The best recommendation for this is to plant some seeds that take 3 days (or so) in a 1/3 of your farm, some seeds that take 2 days in another 1/3 and finally peppers or soybeans in the final section (Yes, the ones that take a day!). This way, when the peppers ripen – you can plant more. The next day when the level 2 Items ripen (Just before the newly replaced crops that take 1 day) you can harvest both of them, and plant twice as many peppers/peas. And on the final day you harvest the entire farm. This leads to good reaping of Exp and a good amount of money from all the harvesting.
Planting an entire farm of 1 seed can become tedious when getting to the harvest. With relation to the previous paragraph – you could stagger the harvesting/plough/planting. With 2 crops that take 2 days to ripen. Plant them on alternating days so you only ever have to harvest half the farm at once. This way also ensures you get a stead stream of money everyday in case you do spend it on extra Exp like buildings, trees Etc.
When money doesn’t become an issue (Around when you have 125,000+) refer to the quick levelling guide. Also – to get an extra boost in both Exp & money, Refer to the “Assisting” section
Trees
Gifted by friends, you can buy them to give you Exp As well (planted gifted trees does not yield Exp). You can harvest them then for extra money to add to your profits, or you can let them ripen and leave them to make your farm look pretty (What I do).
They are slow by steady income, but can take up lots of space normally along the edge of your farm, or bunched in one corner.
Alternatively you can (Similarly to the plots) buy them for the Exp, sell them, and buy more!

Olive - Only Gift – Gifted - 4 Days – 112 coins – Unknown
Animals
Animals are a pain. They take up space and they do not give very much money daily. A Single apple tree is better than 2/3 of the buy-able animals, and draws with the last. Sheep cost 700 coins. In theory, you can buy 2 apple trees and then gain twice as much as you would from 1 sheep! Trees are much better than sheep – it appears.
However, if you find the animals or they are gifted – you may as well! I would suggest not letting them wander…
Also, helping animals that wander onto your farm can give you a small amount of money. But it is up to you.
Check the bottom of the guide for a Link to a Exp Giving Guide to Animals

Assisting
Visiting neighbours farms and pending neighbours is a GREAT way to give yourself a small boost in cash, but Exp as well! You normally get 1 or 5Exp and around 20 Coins. So it is GREAT to visit all your neighbours periodically and collect a small prize
You can *Sorta* cheat with assist. If you click the same neighbours farm, and “Help”. Then do it again before the Help box appears (Below) you can assist that farm more than once!

Achievements
This recent feature is Fantastic for both money and Exp. Although it can cost a rather amount in both Coins and Time to complete some. However, most a relatively easy and reward handsomely with Exp, Coins and a Random Gift.
All of the yellow ribbons are very easy to achieve, and you will get awarded with quite a few ribbons the first time you log into them! Then, you will want to advance to the white, red and blue ribbons in some (Getting more Exp and Gold, and more Free items!)
Good and Easy achievements to receive are:
- Local Celebrity
- Good Samaritan
- Animal Shelter
- ShutterBug
- Green Thumb
- Tree Hugger
- Not spoiled, Gifted!

Gifting
Gifting to people is a good way to get them back. You might want to keep a list of you who gift to and who gifts back. Sometimes requesting specific gifts in your status can get a nice flood. Normally – If I get trees, i plant them. If i get animals i sell them for the extra money boost (Small as it may be). You should always try and gift the highest thing you can since they almost always give the best return (Unless someone requests one)
Gifts are also randomly received from doing achievements, and although (Like regular gifts) you do not receive Exp from planting/placing them, they can be sold. Sometimes its best to keep them for future Achievements.
Tips
- Try to Log on Every Day to get a prize from the Raffle!
- Estimating the time the plants should be done is good and lets you then harvest and plough efficiently
- Try and plant so all plants collide at 1 Big harvest time, giving max Exp and Money!
- Doing achievements award money and Exp. Complete them for more!

You say “To get the most money from your farm you want to plant the most expensive seed you can (Normally the longest to grow) and let them grow.”
I disagree with you on this. If you plant waltermelons (cost 150 + 15 to plant) you get a surplus of 183 per area (or 1,9 per hour). If you plant Peppers instead you get a surplus of 77 every day (3,2 per hour), which is much better.
I believe that the seeds that takes long time are not as good as Peppers, Rice and Pumkin, but if you plan to stay away from the game for some days, they are usable.
Nice post and i agree with what Sysselmannen said.
Ok, Updated version.
New seeds, included your comments!
Hey, I thought you might find this of interest.
On the left, it tells you the profit per hour along with other information for the different seeds.
And on the right, you can choose how long it will be till your next harvest, then put in how many fields of each plant you have on your farm and it will tell you how much profit you will make at the harvest.
Anyway, here’s the link
http://farmville.freehostia.com
It may be a little basic but it can be quite handy once you know how to use it
do extra things like churns and troughs increase animal production or are things like that just for show. another example would be a barn, if you buy a barn do the animals produce faster or will i get more exp etc…?
No, at least….Not yet, Ken
newest updates now included
If you can stay active on your farm then Raspberries are easily the best crop in Farmville if you take into account the cost and reward of plowing.
Raspberries will yield a net of 20.5 coins hourly and 0.5 XP per hour.
Next best is Blueberries at 14 coin/hour and 0.5 XP/hour
after them it varies by whether you want coin or XP.
3rd best coin would be Sunflowers at 13.75/hour
3rd best XP would be Pumpkin at 0.25 XP/hour
Note, these hourly results only apply if you are able to harvest and replant in a timely manner. If your crops will ripen and then just sit there for a while then you should pick something a little slower.
Hey when growing stawberries for example does it really take 4 hours in real life or 4 hours in game time ??
x
4 Hours in real Life time.
While you accounted for plowing costs in the coin section you did not discuss planting XP in comparing the value of various crops toward earning XP.
While raspberries don\’t give any XP to plant, you get 1XP for plowing. In 4 hours you plow twice and earn 2XP, which matches the 1 XP planting 1XP plowing of the other berry types.
All 3 berry types give 12 XP per day per patch if you can keep up with them: blueberries, raspberries, strawberries in order of preference based on coins. Following this, pumpkins are 6, rice is 4, sunflowers, peppers, and soybeans are 3, and the multi-day stuff is lower.
Blueberries are also the 2nd highest cash crop, beaten only by sunflowers (with 25% of the XP). There is no reason to plant anything but blueberries (to max XP) or sunflowers (to max cash) unless you want to make your farm look pretty, or need to take some time off.
If you don\’t have blueberries and sunflowers, then raspberries are the best all around — using peppers if you can\’t be on every 2 hours.
I agree mostly with Dan. However, the given numbers are only valid if you can plow, seed and harvest in 0 minutes and you are always exactly on time to do it.
Allowing for some sleep and not always being precisely on time to harvest/plow/seed, the best strategy for both money and exp is to use the following strategies:
A. For low levels, plant strawberries three times (early morning, midday, late afternoon) and plant pumpkins before you go to bed. This will net 53 coins/day and 8 exp/day.
B. Once you get raspberries, plant them 6 times per day and pumpkins overnight. This will net 89 coins/day and 8 exp/day.
C. Once you get blueberries, change to blueberries three times a day. This will net 101 coins and 8 exp per day.
D. Once you get sunflowers, you can change to them for 165 coins/day and 3 exp per day, but that depends on whether you need cash or exp.
If you’re lazy like I am, skip step B.
Happy farming!
Thank you for your helpful suggestions!
I will incorperate them into the guide here and there!
There are new crops available, yellow bell, tomatoes, coffee and brocolli. Would you mind if you add those as well? Thanks.
Im about to go and check them out – If i am level enough.
Expect to see them added within a day!

Sellinh rs accy, i know u r a scam.
I found your guide extremely helpful. Thanks!!
I did my own spreadsheet and use not total profit per patch but total profit per hour of ripening. Wheat is .90 coins per hour, soybeans = 1.38, potatoes = 2.71, peppers 3.21, tomatoes = 7.25, etc. I find profit per hour a much better measure of income comparison. The date tree at 0.96 is the best tree and goats are tops at 1.13 per hour.
Thanks again!!
I was thinking of putting profit per hour in, but there’s no point as it only shows good crops!
Your first commenter is correct, the harvest time becomes a major factor in Farmville, as your profit grows exponentially. I will be or have, depending on when you read this, posted the correct formulas to determine your profit over time as well as a spreadsheet on chskate.com under the blogs section for caveman\’s corner.
Could you iinclude a graph/grid including alll achievements and there rewwards in xp cash and the gift please?
Thanks for adding the new crops.
Will: I’m not sure it’s that easy – as im sure its a random gift each time and i have done most of the awards myself.
It’s not a random gift each time, since me and my friend got the same rewards on the same day, and we both got the same items, just wanted to let you know ^^
Hmmmm :/
Still hard for me to do it now since me and most of my friend have almost every award for each (Yes, we had a contest – and i won!)
Lol.
Officially five best cash Crops (in coins per hour)
1.Tomatoes-7.25
2.Sunflowers-6.875
3.Coffee-6.75
4.Blueberries-6.5
5.Raspberries-5.5
Worked it out on excel
Actually, the plants that take the shortest time to grow gives better money, however, you have to check on your farm more often. The best money giving plant in the game right now are tomatoes.
This game is all about the responsibility, space and time. If you have all the time playing it, then plant strawberry. Else, plant those seeds that will grow on the time that you are able to harvest them. Plant one seed class to your field. Expand and maximize the planting space. More space, better earning.. That’s how it is..
Guide 2.0 Is LIVE!
Enjoy the new features! (:
thank you.
all of this info is great !!
i have a slightly unrelated question and wasn’t able to get any relief at zynga help. my problem is this:
i’ve accepted several gifts lately including a cow and chicken, as well as a plum, pine and peach tree. after clicking the accept button, POOF !!, nothing materializes and nothing is left anywhere as evidence that i was given these items. any help here??
If you have more than 30 gifts in your gift box – you won’t get them as you cant exceed this number. Otherwise – Glitch?
could you tell me what the “unique” crops and gifts are that earn you ribbons. thanks.
Any crop that has not already been harvested is unique and counts towards your green thumb award. The same with “Not spoiled gifted” award, any item you do not already have!
The best seed type per patch in a day is BLUEBERRIES with best ROI (Return of Investment) of 156 coins and 12 XP (including plowing XP). Tomatoes deliver 174 coins daily but will only give 6 XP.. Coins can be easily acquired by assisting friends but XP is needed for upgrades and unlocks. Eventually, plant tomatoes when you are busy.
How can I unlock 18 x 18 expansion? Need help please…
Melvin – thats assuming it takes 0 seconds to harvest, plow and plant again. So, no it doesnt always work out nice like that >.<
Nok: They haven’t released another farm expansion yet!
Animals aren’t a waste, especially the ones you can only receive as gifts. Sure, they’re less productive _each_ than planting & harvesting BUT you can put 16 sheep into 1 square of farm land. 16 sheep produce $149 per day. Sure, you can make $174 per day _if_ you can login every 8 hours and take 15 minutes to harvest and plant your entire plot. Animals only need to be collected every 2-4 days and can be put close together for easy harvesting.
I like to mix it up, and keep all my gifts and harvest the remaining land.
dude play too much and ull get bored…id say stick to sunflower on ur farm woth the best trees and maybe some tiny animal that wont take place like a rabbbit with decent coin power and if u want more id say alternate between tomato and cofee….just something that keeps u from getting sick of the game!…besides this way u get al the ribbons quickly too! assuming u brought some tents and sold it and finished those architect building awards! neways add me and my farm guys am at lvl 25 …i send gifts daily too!…my id is southafricaew@gmail.com ! njoy!
Hi,
I suggest to update your strategy adding the levels required for pumpkin and rice, btw the strawberries give you the same benefit as berries just a little slower but with a lot lot of money. And if you are at level 25 there’s nothing best than sunflower.
Tomotoes are
See the money/hour guide
Raspberries? LOL Someone needs to do their math again. Raspberries are worthless and high maintenance… I’m only level 30 so I don’t yet have access to Broccoli but right now Blueberries are the best all-around crop. Tomatoes will earn you slightly more money but fail to deliver when it comes to XP.
Proof: (16×16 field for 1 week)
Raspberries – $236544 and 21504xp
Blueberries – $279552 and 21504xp
Tomatoes – $311808 and 10752xp
Coffee – $290304 and 5376xp
Sunflowers – $295680 and 5376xp
So the battle is between Blueberries and Tomatoes but I stick with Blueberries since they’re a good average crop for both money and xp.
Of course when I reach a level that I can obtain everything with… I’ll switch to Tomatoes until something else is added.
If anyone has level 35, could you please post what Broccoli is worth?
Otherwise I’ll b e at 35 by the end of the week and I’ll post back.
I need friends 5 more friends. I am lvl 9 and My field is full with rice. I need friends to expand. I have no idea what 2 buy
What\’s the purpose of the windmill. Can\’t it generate electricity which I can then \”harvest\” and sell for a profit?
@Michelle – Buildings currently do nothing in game. Happily though – they will soon! E.g. Fruit stand may sell tree produce for +10% more.
@Brain – Thanks!
the fact is not everyone can plant every 4 hours – and that is taking into account it takes NO time to plow, plant and sow. So its slightly off – Raspberries more so cause you have to do it more!
James!
Your entry on Broccolli is incomplete. Can you give me the rest of the info?
Im afraid i dont know it :/
If anyone knows it – please post so that i can update my entries
What Should i DO?
I have no room for planting. I have a bit for animals and trees. I will soon have 16k and I don´t know on what 2 spend it.’
What do you suggest?
I also need friends so pls type your names so I can add you. Dont want to type my name here.
BTW: How many squares does the tractor plow?
A tractor plows 4 squares for 4Exp, 60 Coins and -4 Fuel (Regains over time)
Basically, the same as if you plowed them yourself!
@PCY why is there no planting room? Otherwise, buy a fruit stand? A nice bit of EXP
1. Tractor- is that 2*2 or 1*4 in squares?
2.Fruit stand costs 10.000, how much EP does it give?
3.How much fuel does the tractor have when it´s full?
4. Can you mention what the barn, toolshell and other less expensive buildings do? I know how much xp they give.
2.Fruit stand costs 10.000, how much EP does it give?
100ex
Tractors plow a 2*2 Square
A fruit stand gives 100Exp
I think a tractor has 150 fuel when full
I shall do them shortly.
New crops are about to go up!
wow.. i’ve learnt so much just by going through all this! I’m seeing myself turnign into a hardcore farmer afetr this bit of info.. let the games begin! Yeh!
Anyone try to buy more than 1 tractor? I run out of fuel before I finish plowing my farm so I am thinking of getting 2 tractors so I will have double the fuel.
Nat – I have no idea!
If you do it, please let us know so i can help other people in future!
Ro – Thank you
Here are the stats for Broccoli:
Cost: 200

Cost: 180
Time: 3 Days
XP: ?
Sell: 449
Yellow Melon:
Cost: 205

My hubby just researched it….1 tank for all the tractors. So don’t do it! Looks like the next thing out is to figure out a way to buy fuel.
Thanks for the Broccoli Mike!
If you could get the EXP’s for the last two much obliged! I just leveled to 29 ^_^
@Nat – You can now buy “fuel” in cans. For Farmville Cash though. Not worth it :/
I can plow 1/4 of my farm with my tractor. I have a 20*20 farm!
James: You’re in level 29?? OMG! Im still in measly 9! Dang!
@Ro
Lolz ^_^
Yea, Noone could make this kind of guide without playing for a while. And its cause i lurrrv you all <33333
Jks Jks
How do you get Farmville cash?
@kyle – You buy it using Real live money. No way to earn it ingame :/
SUPER BERRIES!!!!!!!
Cost: 10
Time: 2 hours
Sell: ONE HUNDRED!!!!!
Exp: 1
Super berries = 37.5 Coins/hours Profit o-o
NICE! I know how im levelling up my exp and getting a ton of cash tomorrow and sunday!
Very true that not everyone can afford to play every 4 hours… but that being the case then a per hour spreadsheet is also not accurate.
And listing longer harvest time crops as a better solution is also not accurate. Plus it takes the same amount of time to plow/plant everything so one can safely assume every hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, etc. is precise whether it actually is or not. If you don’t set a standard across all crops, then having a spreadsheet would be pointless.
My figures are calculated at zero plow/plant times and are estimates simply because it’s much easier to estimate that way than it would be to figure out the unlimited number of possible plow/plant times.
It’s the concept of “always round up and assume you have less”. LOL This way you will always turn out ahead.
BTW, Red Wheat XP is worth 2
I’ve also noticed a lot of people (on other forums and blogs) say to stick with blueberries even if you can’t get to them for 8 hours because they will last 8 hours before they go bad. If you can’t get back to a crop in the time it takes to grow, double that time and look for a higher paying crop that takes that long (in this case, tomatoes). If you’re going to wait 8 hours, you might as well make more money right? haha
Here’s a question I can’t seem to find the answer to…
right now (level 31) I can purchase either 18×18 expansion for 50G or 20×20 expansion for 75G. If I purchase the 18×18, will the 20×20 lower in cost to only 25G or will it still be 75G? If it’s still 75G then it would be pointless for me to get the 18×18.
You have to buy them in order. So you got to get 18*18 before 20*20. And yes, they are still the same amounts!
wow that’s pretty lame… what happened to the *item* required before available warning.
I guess it’s fine that it at least lets you know when you try to purchase an item before you actually can. It just got my hopes up that I could skip the 18×18. LOL
Very good Guide, I think it`s the best in the web.
Try to post as many as possible, and you should rank the best Tree (most profitable per day) and Compare with animals, etc.
man i got some kind of superberries it takes 10 coins to plant and 100 coins when grow up, and they grow up in 2 hours :S
IS THIS NORMAL ^^
Super Berries… The newest addition that is easy to miss… cost 10 pays 100 and takes 2 hours… oh yea…
Yeah, they are epic.
@Luiz. THank you fro the compliments and suggestion! Yes! I will add a tree and Animal guide to this one, with best money/day
Thank you for this good idea!
James – I just noticed my FV Cash increased by $2 so I bought a fuel tank (figured that was the only thing worth getting). I have a crop of superberries coming in so I’ll let you know if it actually does any good.
thanks for this guide man!
just a quick one, can i get cash without paying real cash?
thanks for the guide again i love it!
Yes Super berries is the way to go this weekend! Hahaha.. I dont think i’ve ever been this rich!
If i buy 1 fuel tank does it increase my total fuel capacity?
Lol – Ro
Im getting rich too! 30,000 profit per harvest/ 2 hours FTW!
@Mitch – No You cannot :/
Well…1 tank of fuel went by quickly. Basically a 1 shot deal and now I am back to the 0 tank 6 hour wait until full again.
Hopefully they will change the cost to coins rather than $
5,000 coins for a tank sounds resonable to me!
The reason there are “cash” items in this game is because it is still in beta. Meaning… they’re trying to gauge the game to find out how many people will pay and how many won’t. When the game launches (for real) the developers will have 3 options… keep it the same, subscription based, or entirely free.
This has been true for many web-based games and even a method I’ve considered myself. haha
Something has been bothering me for a long time… WHAT DO BARNS DO? is it just a decoration or does it do something?
It’s just decoration. Most of the items in the market are merely for decoration. I think they should add private messaging to the mailbox! That would be a useful feature.
What’s der TRACTOR do? Please DO tell
Quick question that no where seems to have an answer to . . .
I noticed my FV cash increased by $1 twice today, making me go from the 5 I started off with to 7. Is this totally random or is there a way to earn them outside of purchasing them?
Thanksss!
I agree about the messaging, it’s kind of a pain to post a million little notes to have a conversation within the game. Maybe make the mailboxes somewhat functional?
Each time you purchase something expensive (Eg.:barns, a pond, tractor, etc) you gain hugely on XP plus some farm cash. Just something i noticed..
“What’s der TRACTOR do? Please DO tell”
They allow you to plow your farm much faster, as you can plow 4 patches at once!
Yes, Buildings are merely decroational at the moment – good for Exp as i mentioned in the guide. Hopefully – In the future they will let us store up crops and get more money for selling bulk….Or something
@franny
I have noticed mine go up a couple also in the past couple of days, I’m not sure if they give you one maybe when you earn a blue ribbon or do something, but I have definitely gained a couple in the past few days… I wonder if someone knows why..
nice unofficial guide lol, OMG i love this game started last week and im lvl 16, i like pepers, but now the super berries are emence, do they come every weekend????
No – its a special event since the Farmville fan page got 500,000 fans!
James Vernon, thanks for the guide it’s the best in the net!
But the Farmville Cash, everyone’s is definitely going up but does anyone know why it’s slowly increasing? I’m up to 12 FV and still have no idea why. I think it goes up from spending..? Not sure though! All I do know is that I’m 1FV from a flamingo
PS. I have a 20*20 farm…and how crap is the tractor for it!
Thanks very much John
I’ll see if i can find out
Right now the tractor only helps you out a little (especially if you have a larger farm). It’s still nice to have but what they really should add is the ability to purchase (for coins not cash) a “larger” gas tank and not just a separate one for cash (that you can only use ONCE).
As far as “cash”… I’ve only gone up by $1 and it happened while I was asleep! LOL The only item I have NOT purchased yet from the market is the Villa and my cash did not increase when I purchased anything. I’m wondering if this is another “special” for the weekend. Once you harvest so many SuperBerries you get $1 cash. ??? Would be nice to know for sure though.
I’ve been playing for weeks and have reached level 17. My FV cash has stayed at $1 and has recently increased to $3. My husband just started playing 2 days ago and has $12 FV cash. wth???? I can’t find any info anywhere on what the FV cash is based on. It’s like trying to figure out Lost. My head hurts.
Yeah I’m the same! I’ve got 13FV cash now but my mate who’s well low level has got 12?! I think it could have something to do with the superberries!
Last night I ploughed and planted 20*20 carrots and harvested them this morning and my FV cash didn’t increase.
I’ve just ploughed my farm and planted superberries, FV cash is still the same but maybe it’ll go up during harvest? I’ll let you guys know!
Also James Vernon, maybe a ribbons guide would go well? Like for Pack Rat, save up 25,000coins and buy 250 plain hay bales!
Or for local celebrity, go on the application and add the 1000’s of people posting “ADD ME PLZZZ” although if you want your facebook filled with normal people..I wouldn’t recommend that..
Cheers everyone! And if anyone has any findings about the cash let us know even if something doesn’t work?
The ribbons guide i hard :/
Since i cannot list the prizes – but i suppose i could do a “how to get” section!
Trees and animals guide section, and ribbons how to coming up soon!
I thought super berries was just a weekend thingy???
They are! Are they still there? x)
Im sure they’ll vanish soon!
They are! Now i know what the Queen/BillGates/Tiger Woods feel like.. Woohoo!
my fv cash went up for no reason…..i closed facebook, opened it about an hour later and BAM +1 fv cash. it doesnt make sense!
Hello James,
Can you assist me in increasing my FV, I have 16 and need 4 to go for a land.
Thankyou.
One thing you’re all forgetting is money made per hour per land space. You can fit 16 lemon trees in one Tomato area. I would think if you want to make ridiculous money far into the game over a long period of time, covering the screen with lemon trees (there might be better trees, I’ve only been playing less than 24 hours, but I’m in level 101 already). (16 * 41) / 72 = 9.11 coins/hour
That should say ‘level 10′, not that it’s a big deal…
Lol
i was quite startled when it said 101
That may be the case – however, planting a square of trees is not only a pain to harvest – and i just can tsee people doing it :/
Ok because I’m a nerd and bored, I did the math. It would take 170 days and 3 hours for the 4×4 square of lemon trees to catch up to the tomato square’s profit and start to pass it given the original $475 cost of the lemon tree…. so I guess if you plan on playing that long it could work out for you LOL. Different story if you get lemon trees as gifts though…
I feel the end goal is to acquire all possible ribbons, levels and money are one thing but a bit boring.
I have 24 ribbons to go out of 60 possible, at level 23
Can someone please tell me what the difference between normal crops and the so called “unique” crops?
Megan…. unique crops are different from each other. Every crop has the potential to be “unique.” Your are clearly asking in reference to the green thumb ribbon, which requires you to harvest a certian number of unique crops. i.e. four unique crops would be strawberries, wheat, rice, and soybeans. However, if you used the same 4 plots of land to plant and harvest 4 squares of strawberries you would still be harvesting 4 crops; but they would not be unique b/c they are all the same. You only get credit for a unique crop the first time you harvest it. Therefore the fastest way to complete the green thumb ribbon is to plant at least one crop of a new seed as soon as it becomes available. Hope this helps
Thanks steve for answering
I need some friends on farmville. I would be extremely pleased if some people would send me friends requests to I can neighbor them!! Thank you!!!
My name is Justin Hoffman

Guys, going away for a few days
Cya in 3 days. Lets hope no updates come in that time! I’d hate to see you guys use another guide – Which (if we are being honest) is probably a copy of mine
Hey look!
Someone’s tried to make a copy of my guide on a much n00bier level. And its MADE IT INTO HOT CONTENT?!!?!
- _ -
question… im new at this game (level 12) and was thinking of getting the tractor, but am unsure of its benefits and costs to keep… can someone help me w/ this? thank you!
Hey man nice guide….. right now im at level 24 any suggestions in wat seeds to harvest for fast exp
how do you get your FV (cash) up?
Question: Since yesterday I notice that sometimes when I plown or plant at squares, a “big coin” falls down and disappeares than. What does that mean? Can the coin be cought or something?
Those coins you find when you harvest are FV Cash. This is why your FVC is increasing. They seem to happen a lot more when you let your crops die and plow rotten fields. Don’t quote me on that… it just seems that way.
I don’t think it’s entirely accurate though… it also appears that if I find 4 fvc tokens, my fvc only increases by 2 :/ so maybe they’re not even related? haha
Thanks Brain
I didn’t see the connection with the FV money.
Generally I think it simply appears with plowing – Untill now I did only get it for plowing harvested fields. (At the moment I am much too addicted to farmville to have rotten fields :-/
What is considered a unique tree?
i’ve had the same problem when i get new ribbons, my coins never increase. Same with my neighbours getting their ribbons, i can’t claim a bonus! any ideas what i can do!?
Well I could very well be wrong about the plowing for FVC (I guess I could say “cash” since C could mean coins). I received another 4 bouncing coins after plowing just now and no increase in FVcash. :/ It remains a mystery?
I’m starting to think the developers are just toying with us and randomly distributing cash to mess with our heads. LOL
UNIQUE – When they want something UNIQUE they mean different, so they want you to harvest 4 different trees (eg, cherry, apple, orange, plum) …not the same cherry tree 4 times.
FVCash – As far as I know, noones cracked the code. All I know is, mine went up for absolutely no reason.
VICKI – If you\’re using a cheat engine to speed up the game, that can cause a few problems with your money registering sometimes. If this isn\’t the problem, I\’d just log out your facebook and leave it a little while. I used to have a similar problem with things not appearing in my gifts.
DARIAN – If you want fast exp buying things gives you alot of exp but you\’ll need the money, it\’s mentioned somewhere up there ^^^^ Also, if you have a 20*20 farm ploughing and planting quick growing crops you can earn quite alot of exp but keep in mind that raspberries dont award exp for planting.
J-BLES – Tractors let you plough 2 squares by 2 squares (4 squares in all) and let you do that for 150 squares. Fuel is a huge problem though! it regains after hours or something and the only other way to buy it is with precious FVCash! It hardly ploughs a quarter of my farm. Still nice to have but I wouldn\’t recommend it unless you have the money to spare
JAMES VERNON – that\’s bollocks mate! This guide is clearly the best! I made a quick ribbons guide if ya want it but it\’s too long for me to post on here? :/
Can anyone verify this?… I’ve noticed now that my fvcash has increased in precisely the same amount as the number of blue ribbons I have. Coincidence or is this true for anyone else?
How do u get 22*22 and 24*24 ?
I searched google cant find it.
thanks for your help! i don’t think it’s the problem as it’s been like this for about 4 days now. fingers crossed it’ll sort itself out!
Ok I think I’ve figured it out for real this time… the mysterious coins when plowing are worth 50 each. I painstakingly plowed each plot slowly and watched my coins until I found one. I was at 480,574, plowed a single plot of land which should have brought me down to 480,559 but instead it went up to 480,609 which is an exact difference of 50 coins. I will do this again the next time I plow to verify it though.
Jhon = Life saver
If you want i can link it for the time being, however im going to make my own
Back now!
You get 1 Farmville “Cash” per level.. I believe you start with 3 or 4 and get one per level. You can also buy them from the game which, for those who want a 20×20 plot right off the bat, isn’t that expensive. (5$, but Considering a game of putt-putt in real life is about the same price, and that only lasts an hour or so… it’s not a bad investment.). As for the ‘coins’ you get when plowing.. they give you 100 coins. (Each time it pops up, you’ll see the -15 coins for plowing, which might be masking the +100 coins, in the end, for every one of those coins you see, you end up gaining 85 coins.)
Oh, as for raspberries not giving you exp.. they grow in 2 hours, so the loss of exp is negligible. Consider that you get 1 exp each time you plow the land, and raspberries not only give a better profit, but the same exp. (okay, a TINY bit less exp once you factor in the time to plow and plant, but, like I said earlier, its negligible.) 4 hours for say, strawberries (1 for plowing, 1 for planting), gets you .5 exp per hour. This is the same as raspberries, since you are getting 2 exp for plowing twice in that same 4 hour period.
Nick… you’re getting +100 coins for the ones you find while plowing? I’m still only getting 50. I tested this again and I found 2 mystery coins… each time they only gave me 50. Perhaps there are different sizes of mystery coins?
I\’ve only ever seen the one hundered coin… coin. I use the \”block the person in between trees\” glitch to plow and harvest a bit faster. Over his head it pops up \” 100 Coins\” and where the land is plowed, the normal \”-15 coins 1 EXP\” message shows up. As for how many you actually get, I can\’t be sure. Maybe it has something to so with your level? I just hit 17. I haven\’t actually done out the math to see exactly how much I\’m getting, but when I harvest my blueberries in a few hours (which are more valuable than raspberries OR strawberries EXP and Coin-wise.. to counter my own counter-argument.) I will do the math and find out the actual value I\’m getting out of them. For right now, it APPEARS to be 85 coins ( 100 – 15).
True… it could very well be the higher your level the less you get. I’m at level 33 (planned on 35 by last weekend but got tied up in work).
I too am using the “quick” method of farming as a 20×20 field takes a while. lol
I just hope I’m not getting cheated out of an extra 50 coins per mystery coin.
Oh yeah… I also do not get 1 FV Cash per level unless they’ve changed something. I remained at 2 cash until I hit level 32 and started getting these random cash increases. :/ Granted the game is technically “beta” so things can change all over the place at any time.
It may have been a recent change, I only started a few days ago, but I\’ve been getting 1 steadily every level. (I started this past Sunday actually xD)
i got the 100 coin yesterday!
OK the FV Cash has definitely been changed to add +1 for every level. Just hit 34 and my cash went up by 1. Thanks Nick!
I am still only getting 50 coins though… must be the level or perhaps what I’ve harvested before? I plant tomatoes overnight and blueberries throughout the day. :/
527,276.. found a coin and instead of dropping to 527,261, I increased to 527,311. That’s a difference of 35 which would be a 50 coin find minus 15 coins for plowing. My math is correct right? I’m not exactly the best at it. LOL
peppers will expire after how many minutes/hrs please help ..
Cayrin: about twice as long as they take to grow
After they have fully grown, they will take the same amount of time to die. (in peppers case – another day)
A harvester is finally out!!! WOOHOO! It’s too bad they didn’t double the size of your gas tank though!
So you have to either choose to mass harvest, or mass plow, or spend real money to buy lots of consumable tanks. :/ Oh well… maybe they’ll increase the gas tank size soon. Also there are a few new crops…
Aloe Vera: cost-$50, harvest-6 hours, sell-$85 +1 xp
Cabbage: cost-$140, harvest-48 hours, sell-$388 +2 xp
Blackberries: cost-$75, harvest-4 hours, sell-$117 +1 xp
Looks like blackberries are now better than blueberries with $1 more in profit per plot.
I should have read down before i did it myself – . -
Anywho – New seeds are live, along with the red wheat enrty
Can anyone tell me why FarmVille is so slow? I am getting ready to stop playing it if they don’t do something about how slow it runs. I know it isn’t my computer. Farm Town is fine, and runs fast. If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it.
I haven’t had any issues with FarmVille myself. It can get a little bit slow during mid-day but that’s to be expected with any online game with thousands of users.
Otherwise it’s been very quick… and I load it up every 4 hours at least. haha (maybe I have way too much free time)
Please anyone, how to get FV points???
Yo farmers.. I’ve been ploughing and harvesting and vice versa.. just thought i’d holler and say hi.. : )
i’ve just earned blue on ”green thumb” ribbon.
however it’s not shown up.
it says i don’t need anymore but im still on red.
happened to anyone else??
I think the ribbons still need a little work. There are plenty of categories that increase on me instead of decrease. LOL The animal collection one for instance. It said I only needed 2 more to get blue… so I added a bunch and received a bunch as gifts and now it says I need 5 more. :/ oh well, I don’t really care about ribbons anyway.
I think your Eggplant math is wrong. You buy for 25 coins, not 35, which throws off the whole equation.
I was making a similar graph for myself when I stumbled across your guide. Seems like you’ve done all my research for me.
Great work.
Raspberries aren’t completely XP worthless: .5XP/hour because of plowing. good for income at low levels and still get XP to get new crops.
Also trees aren’t completely useless for money either. A date tree earns you 23 coins per day (.96coins/hour).
BUT you can fit 16 of them in a single plow plot (15.33). Sure your character wont be able to navigate the trees unless you make that oh, 8 trees per plot. 7.67coins/hour. There are ups and downs. No loss if you forget to harvest plus harvest every 3 days. Logically you can actually plant a whole lot more… you don’t move the avatar, you move the tree… Does the avatar move to harvest from trees? I just started playing 2 days ago. my first trees haven’t cropped yet.
TY skelbers!!!
Fixed
Personally, I think, among all seeds, BlackBerries is better than Tomato.
Though, with Tomato, you earn $7.25 per hours, but XP earned is 0.25 per hour only.
With BlackBerries, you may earn $6.75, but XP earned is 0.5 per hour. Losing just $0.50 to trade with gaining 0.5 XP is a very interesting deal.
When deciding about the best seeds, we should consider the gains both in terms of money and XP.
Remark: XP earned already includes XP earned through plowing.
aghhhh, does anyone know wats wrong or wat i need to d/l to get it fixed?… im lvl 22 on farmville but i cant use the camera feature or the spade/delete tool, i know it isnt my internet at fault as it works on my brotheres mac and my other brothers PC, i run on Vista SP2
but just dont know what the prob is
nice unofficial guide btw
This is a great guide!
However, I think that the best way to get xp and money is actually through raspberries, if you continue to harvest them every 2 hours.
Raspberries? But they give no xp! Wrong. Just tilling the fields give 1 xp. Every 2 hours, that gives 1/2 xp per hour, which is not that terrible considering its low level and great returns.
Raspberries themselves do NOT give xp… the plowing does and the plowing is not unique to any crop, it is the same for all. The fact that you can harvest every 2 hours is fine but why waste the time when you can plant blackberries and get the exact same in xp (total) as you would with raspberries and you don’t have to harvest as often???
You will also get more coins this way. So if you HAVE access to blueberries and blackberries then raspberries are pointless (unless of course you really want to harvest every 2 hours).
If you do not have access to them then yes, raspberries would be the best choice.
Please do not confuse the fact that plowing and planting are entirely different in regards to xp. Most guides separate the two to give you just the stats on the crops themselves since plowing is the same for all crops. This gives you a more accurate representation of the crop’s yield with less confusion as to why you would be gaining xp when you harvest raspberries and it says +0 xp.
@James Your yellow melon stats are missing
Cost $205
Harvest 96 hours (4 days)
Sell $528
Profit $308
XP 2
hey could you edit this to add a exp/hr rate to the plants
when you expand, do you get XP?
Nah, When you expand your farm you get more space to plant/plow so – in effect every time you plow/plant you are getting Exp
Malkierie, Trees and animals will be getting a layout silimar to the seed guide soon!
You can earn farmville cash by signing up for various trials and offers as well. I filled in a bunch of bogus details on some forms so we’ll see whether I get anything through! (my local scientology office might also see an increase in their of junk mail numbers in the next few days
)
whish tree and animal is the best money per/h?:D awsome guide btw! love it:D
What I do everyday is go to the farmville feed. On your lefthand side of your facebook homepage, there will be a feed that you can choose to filter. If you click on farmville, it brings a list of what everyone has been doing just on farmville. There, you will find all of your friends ribbons and sheep. Under a ribbon, there will be [get a bonus from ...]. If you click on that, you will get a certain amount of coins depending on the ribbon value (50-500 coins). You can also adopt sheep there.
Aside from that, do you think that the new tractor and harvester are worth the 30,000 coins?
And what about the farmville cash? Mine seems to increase after a few days when before it used to stay the same.
Last question, when I am plowing with my tractor, every now and then a golden bean shaped blob flies from out of nowhere and then disappears onto the ground. When it appears, it makes a noise sounding like a coin being plucked, but I don’t get any extra money or experience, and I cannot click on it. This happens quite often. If you have any idea what it could be, please let me know!
Kelly: Look what was discussed on August 27.
I am lvl 17 and I bought a harvester, had tractor. Fuel is a problem.
YEAH BUT WHY IS IT THAT I ONLY GET 1 EXP AND 5 COINS BUT OTHER DAYS I GET 5 EXP AND 20 COINS
If you mean on assisting someone, you only get 5EXP & 20 coins for the first 20 people you help, then its 1exp * 5 coins
Btw guys – Just crosses 50,000 views for my guide :3
THANKS ALL OF YOU! Your the greatest
To be fair, Brian’s a bit harsh on Ben’s comment of Raspberries, Brian. Read the end of Ben’s comment. LOL. lower levels. The best tree is the most expensive one. But it takes 35 days to pay it off. Once you do that you roll in more money than crops because you can put more in the ground and only have to check back every 3 days. Is it worth it? In 3 days I’d forget about my farm.
James, I think that if you help a neighbor its 5exp and 20 coins. if you just help anyone else its only 1 exp 5 coins.
Sorry Ben I missed that part.
I wasn’t trying to harsh, just noting that the crop itself does not give xp.

In 6 months I’ll be richer than all you tomato fruit bush people.
Lol – Cause any of us are going to plant perfect when they finish growing. And you cant possibly harvest all the date trees, too close
Great guide, I got it bookmarked. Thanks James!
Thanks James, great guide! In my bookmarks
Amazing guide, great job, though do you have any idea if or when they will make buildings have uses (other than exp from building them)?
@ed – yes buildings will have uses! like a fruit stand may sell strawberries for +25%
What do you do with the coins that come bouncing down while you are either plowing or planting? Has anyone else noticed this?
For people with large farms, how do you manage to do all the clicks? My hand started to hurt when I got to like level 15… that’s why I made this, what do you guys think?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jsly3v2qeq4
James, how do you sell strawberries for +25% with the fruit stand? Is this done automatically when you purchase the fruit stand?
No, your quote is wrong he says “you want to not always plant the most expensive seed you can”
No, your quote is wrong he says \”you want to not always plant the most expensive seed you can\”
Is it really Worth getting a tractor i have a 14*14 farm?
Crikey! There’s alot more people posting on here now! I have now thankfully kicked the farmville habbit! I was only in it for the achievements and I’ve done them all now
The trees were the worst!
Thank you James Vernon for the help
I do not see any Superberries…are they still in the app?
Does anyone know how long you can collect from someone else’s achievement ribbon? I “shared the wealth” but my friend won’t be able to log onto their computer till later….. how long do they have?
I bought both the tractor and harvester but the prob is they are both dependent on the refill bar that’s at the bottom left hand corner of the screen. So i am not able to use them at the same time, say if i harvest a crop then plow after, which is totally annoyimg. Is there a solution to this?
@Kaz… no solution except to spend real money and purchase consumable “spare” tanks.
Hopefully they’ll at least double the tank size for people who have both the harvester and tractor.
@T One time thing :/
More updates soon people!
@Brian… i agree with you… or even faster refilling time…
Can someone tell me how much XP i could earn for the cottage vs the farm house? The 1000XP for the windmill was awesome!
New crops!
Sugar Cane: buy:$165 harvest:8hours sell:$235 xp:1
Onion: buy:$170 harvest:12hours sell:$268 xp:1
Tomatoes are still better unless you’re specifically looking for a 12 hour crop. In that case Onions are your next best crop (for coins).
Oh yeah the seeder is ready too (as well as a few decorative items). So now I think they should increase the tank size by 3. There are too many vehicles and too few in fuel. LOL
So another addition they added recently . . . the ability to “pet” the farm animals. Is there any known purpose to this other than making the animals make a sound? Do we think this might have a purpose in the future such as faster harvesting?
hi i just want to ask what level should i be to be able to buy the 24×24 lot? i am currently on level 30 with 46003xp … how much xp do i need to be level 35? thanks, this is an awesome site, very informative … ;0)
im lvl 16 and only have 3 animals to buy: cow, sheep and chicken!!! why is that!??!?!?! im crazyy! i think is wrong!!!
i need neighbours xD
@ceejay 22×22 and 24×24 lots are not available yet (no matter what level you are). I can’t remember exactly how many xp I needed to get to level 35 but I have 93948 right now and I need to get to 97000 for level 36. I believe up this high you need 8000 more per level.
@Betty petting animals has actually been around for quite a while. But no there is currently no purpose aside from making them make noise.
I think they should let you pet the cows to make them poop more, then you can fertilize your farm with the poop and make your crops grow faster. LOL!!!
When you go full screen and hit a ribbon point or other pop up – the screen freezes – you have to ctl/alt/del to task mgr and end flash … so if your near a ribbon point use normal screen – ive lost many posts / bonus’ due to this problem
I got a fruit stand…however its a mere decoration and no use as far as increasing coins on selling fuits… are they planning to add more functionality with these decorative items?
Lol Brian your like my little elf :3
Thanks anyways ^^
Updating seeds now.
haha anything to help out man! This guide is awesome!
BTW… anyone know the stats on the new Olive Tree gift?
If you’re looking for pure $$ Profit and have an automated clicking app (I do) then Trees are the best thing. You can fit 16 Date Trees in the space it take to have 1 seeded plot.
Those 16 Date Trees will give you an average daily yield of $384 ($1100+ / 3 Days).
A single crop of the best $$ producing crop (Tomatoes) gives you an average Daily Earning of $174. You’re more than doubling your profit with Date Trees, plus only need to tend your farm once every 3 days and nothing ever spoils.
On a 20×20 Farm you can have 6724 Trees (not that anyone would actually do that) for a 3-Day gain of $463,956. Yes, a Million a Week.
You can’t do this with manual clicking. You absolutely NEED an app to handle this. Of course, this is also more difficult now that one cannot purchase Date Trees anymore… Lime Trees are the best option with a 5-Day Yield of just over $500,000.
how do I earn FV Dollars, not coins, but dollars, without having to buy them?????
try fencing your avatar in (buy four fences and put them in a box around the centre plot where the avatar always appears at the start of a session. then they cant move around to plow and plant (which takes time) so your plowing / planting just pops up magically
I’ve been petting animals all the time and have been increasing in fv cash by about 2 per day. Maybe that’s why?
@Katrina – http://gameolosophy.com/games/farmville-harvesting-and-plowing-glitch/
That’s what you mean
Hi James, any update on how FV cash is earned?
Hi James, any update on how FV cash is earned?
Purchased with real money or gained 1 per level earned.
is that a recent change? because I know I’ve earned FV cash between levels before.
you can do offers to get fv cash too, like filling out a survey
The new seed Bell Peppers isn’t listed here.
Great guide!
James you are missing something important.
You should not calculate the best income per hour, but best income per hour PER LAND.
For example, you can fit 16 Horses (i assume they are the same size as sheep) in the same area as one crop patch.
This means you get 16 times the income.
This is 16*1.22=19.48 coins per hour, which is clearly far better than the 7.25 coins per hour for the Tomatoes, for the same land size.
The same goes for all animals and trees, and most come up better than Tomartoes.
Adjusting my post:
Horses are 1/4 of a crop patch, but you get the idea.
Basically divide all the Coin/Hour by the Land Size.
All crops are Land Size 16, Horses and Cows land size 4, and other animals and Trees are land size 1.
(Or multiply by how much of a crop patch they are, eg Horses are 1/4 of a patch, sheep are 1/16th, and crops are 1, of course!)
Bell peppers are there (called “Yellow Bell”). I believe they changed the name from Yellow Bell Peppers to just Bell Peppers recently but it’s the same crop.
hey i gotta question on the animals…i have alot of black sheep but i know for a fact that there are brown cows and gold chicken. does anyone know more about how the cows or chicken come up?
@ZephDavis – Noone is putting a ton of animals in one plot of land. It just ridiculous. It doesnt look nice and its hard to harvest >.>
Besides, thats on the Seed guide. Not on an animal guide -.-
Let me check that Bell Pepper name
how to increase FV cash i wanna inrease ma land n i dnt hce neighbours….help….
I am at level 30, and several levels back it started, that when I plow.. I see a gold coin flying around… Does anyone know what that does and is there any benefit from it
How long will ripe crops last before they rot???
Mike, they last as long as they take to grow. 8hr drop will last for another 8 hrs after it’s ready to harvest.
XP for helping neighbours. Sometimes I get 5 XP, sometimes I only get 1 XP. Does anyone know what makes the difference – How long since you helped that neighbour? How long sinvce they were on their farm? How many neighbours you helped in this session?
anyone else having speed problems this morning? its making my whole laptop lag!!
And Don, you get 20coins and 5xp for the first 20 neighbours that you help in one 23 hour (1 farmville day) period…seemples!!
can any one tell me how to increase FV amount in Farmville pls
rafeek
Rafeek to gain FV without using real money enter the offers below on the same page…they take a few minutes and if you pick the right ones can make a fair few FV’s from it…ive made around 120 since i started by doing this and have bought mansions and other things that can only be bought this way
here are some of my thoughts on the whole trees being good for long term thing: of course these numbers may be wrong so if you find mistakes dont overly kill me for it.
tomatoes are 7.25 profit per hour
let us consider lime trees and date trees.
lime
5 days, 75$
15$ per day, 0.625 per hour.
to equal tomato plant, you will need:
7.25/0.625 = 11.6 trees per square
i just tried moving my trees onto a plot and it was a disaster!
seriously you cannot pick more than a few trees comfortably, you will lose too much time trying to harvest, there is no way in hell that you will pick 11 trees.
date
3 days, 69$
23$ per day, 0.96 per hour
7.25/0.96 = 7.6
now, maybe, MAYBE you can pick 8 dates per square.
my conclusion is this: if you think you can fill your farm with trees, you will need: 20*20*750 for lime, = 2,400,000, which is 35*20*20*173 (35 harvests on a 20×20 farm of tomatoes)
assuming you actually do this, and buy all the trees, that calculation is for 8 trees per square (8*400 = 3200 trees)
this is
15$ per day per tree, 0.625 per hour per tree, x8 = 5$ per patch of 8 trees, 2000 per hour per 400 squares on a farm, 48000 per day, but 240,000 at the end of a 5 day picking cycle IF you can pick 3200 trees.
now to make 48000 per day, we can also do this:
make 48000/400 squares = 120$ profit per square. per day which is 5$ per hour crops. any 5$ per hour crop therefore will beat 3200 lime trees. this means you can make 58$ profit off tomatoes and pick them every 11 hours and still make 5.2/hr
adding in that you get no exp for trees, i dont really see trees being of any use for cash or exp, EVEN IF you get 3200 date trees gifted,
3200 date trees = 73600$ per day
73600 / 400 = 184$ per square
184 / 24 = 7.67$/hr.
now, IF you can do this, dates will beat tomatoes (tomatoes are 7.25/hr)
downsides: no exp, and you’ll have to wait 3 days for 220,800 instead of getting 23,200 per 8 hours with tomatoes (which is 208,800 if you pick 9 sets of tomatoes in 72 hours) a loss of 12,000 per 3 days or 166.67 per hour.
this is not that well organised but i hope it is useful to at least some people.
also to add to my (any 5$ per hour crop) thing:
besides 2x tomatoes at 11 hours each you can plant:
carrots, coffee, sunflowers, 12/16/24 hours if you have the right levels but right now i am not high enough to use anything besides tomatoes and carrots
question, do harvesters work on trees?
are there any cheats in farmville to get extra xp or coins.
also is there a way to get farmcash without payment.
and also what is the highest level possible
Why do people keep asking the same question over and over!!!
You cant be retarded can you??? read all that is on this page and go through what people have put on here as comments and you will know all there is to know…it doesnt take long!!
Why do people keep asking the same question over and over!!!
Lol – i’ll clarify a FAQ section soon
(I posted this comment in the glitch section but just in case if anyone reads this and not that, ill repost it here too. =) )
Another unrelated glitch I found is you can increase your good samaritan or help out your neighbors exponentially.
When you click on one of your neighbor’s farm to help them, the page will load with your neighbor’s farm asking you to rake the leaves, pull the weeds, scare the birds, etc. Instead of clicking on accept, click on that same neighbor’s farm to help them again and a new request will load as well as the previous request. You can do this as many times as you want before you finally accept the request.
With that being said, this glitch only works for people that have become your neighbor already. You can only help once for people that are in the process of being your neighbor. I do it about 3-4 times for each neighbor. So lets say if you have 50 neighbors and help each one of them out 3 times for that day, you will gain 150 samaritian points and a few more for your friends that are not neighbors yet. This will also help you earn more exp points as well as some additional coins to the ones you could have earned. Enjoy!
Let me know if this works or not, or if there is a better way to explain it. Thanks
It’s a genetic trait or just human nature to skip reading and go straight to the source or the question.
Why read when someone out there is most likely willing to repeat the same answer over and over again. LOL
Annoying, yes… solution?… none.
That is simply a major downfall of the internet. So much information available instantly. Makes people become impatient and removes all skills and traces of “research”.
Perhaps a little javascript could be added to this site that only allows two or three words to be displayed every second. LOL Or one could promote the use of a screen reader if reading on your own is really that difficult or time consuming.
Of course a FAQ page is also a good idea! hahaha
Hi do you know anything about the Farmville Decorations gifts? They look authentic but there does not seem to be any way to get them onto your farm
Onion
Hey, I thought I was the only one who knew how to exploit that bug! It works, granted that you click fast enough before the “loading farm” popup appears.
howdy!
i recently bought a tractor, harvester and seeder, i knew my fuel wasnt gonna be enought so i refuel 3 times (9 cash)…the thing is that i dont know if the tank fuels back 150 of fuel or 600
think ill have to wait like 6 hours to know.. =(
The cheapest way to level up isn’t to plow and delete but to plow plant soybeans and then delete. This gives you 3XP for 30 coins where as what you say gives you 2XP for 30 coins. Thought I would share.
*** HELP ***
I have a lot of neighbours in my farm and I send them gifts everyday. I know that they also offer me gifts.
I’m in level 14 and until now I got NO gift from my neighbours in my giftbox.
Who knows what I should do (I have a MacBook)?
THANKS
please me your answers to meucanininho @ hotmail.com
Just purchased the $1mil Villa!!! WOOHOO! The excitement was short lived. LOL
How do you get the Farmville cash (the paper money)? I find it impossible to get the money
Farmville cash… Erm you can earn it, or buy it … other then that it appears to give you on cash every time you level or sometimes two … depending on what level you are … if use farmville cash to expand my farm. you can do this by clicking the more cash button and scrolling down to the bottem … underneath where it asks you to buy it should be some quizes and offers for you to do with how much cash you will get from doing it … how ever i have found some problems with actualy reciving the cash, but you can click a button after you have complete the quizes *missing farmville cash* and after some time of completeing the offer it will come up with a button called * contact support* if you can provided proff that you complete the quiz .. For example the email they have send you to say you have joined etc or w/e it asks you to do .. they normaly send you the cash with in a day
It won’t let me buy anymore date trees and I only have 200 or so.

I was seriously trying to cover my entire farm with them, and I barely covered an eighth.
It would be good to take plow experience into account. Strawberries generate 2(1 for berries + 1 for plow) experience points every 4 hours. 0.5 per hour. Raspberries generate 1xp from plowing every 2. 0.5 per hour. In terms of xp per hour the chart above is hiding this. It makes strawberries appear a better deal than raspberries.
Your hourly profit numbers seem to be a little off on some items.
I think the problem is you are counting a day as 24 hours but FV days are only 23 hours long.
its a great guide, hope to get new updates soon… especially about FV…keep it up
Your stats for Sugar Cane is wrong. To sell Sugar Cane is 239 (not 235) hence making it more profitable than tomatoes by one coin.
I noticed that grapes are not on your list..it is available at level 19
New crops: peas and asparagus. Anyone have the details to those?
Hi Mike,
peas: buy for 190 sell for 381 exp 3 harvest in 1 day…
i just planted grapes…buy= 85 sell=270 XP= 2 harvest in 1 day…
Sérgio Cordeiro has problems in his FB settings probably. Set your FB to get notifications from farmville!
Asparagus looks nice.
7.03 coins\hour
3 exp day
No grapes?
I am just wondering how long the crops last in the game if they are not harvested on time.
They last just as long as it took to grow
so tomatoes take 8 hrs to grow and 8 hrs after that to spoil.
and blueberries take 4 hrs to grow and 4 hrs after that to spoil.
My Husband & I are Farmville Fanatics….the thing is…he has things i dont and i have things he dont for example…eg. he has grape seeds, i dont….i had super berries he didn’t…whats up with that??? and another thing is he earns more farmcash, i dont, I earn more coins he doesnt!!!
James: I think you should display the grid of crops sorted by harvest times. I think this would correct a lot of confusion and help people to determine which crop would be best for their needs and their allotted play time. Obviously choosing the highest yield crop may not give you the most money if you can’t harvest as often as is necessary.
Sorting by harvest time will let people quickly see where they fit into the timescale of farmville and then choose the appropriate crop.
thoughts?
NEW THINGS ON MARKET!
I think grapes are awesome, their are better than Sunflowers, they gave you 170 coins per day.
Ok, new Crops soon
@Brian – Not a bad idea….Actually, i may do that!
KUDOS! ^_^
Just update!!!!
There are like 3 new seeds on the market!
I need to know the the facts about them please
Don\’t think anyone\’s mentioned this but a new lost animal has also been introduced — an ugly duck. And BOY is it ugly. I\’m assuming it\’s worth is twice as much as what a regular duck is as per usual.
Don’t think anyone’s mentioned this but a new lost animal has also been introduced — an ugly duck. And BOY is it ugly. I’m assuming it’s worth is twice as much as what a regular duck is as per usual.
I have a tractor, seeder, and harvester now, but fuel tanks are still only 150. That should be tripled with the two new vehicles. It makes them pointless, because I’m not going to spend all my hard earned farm dollars on fuel tanks. At least make the fuel tanks available through coins!!
PS. DANNGGG the ugly duckling is UGLLLYYY lol
Oops, double post. :/
The ugly duck really does make me uncomfortable to look at it though hahahaha.
I know we’ve come to the conclusion that FV cash increases with each level up. However, this was only added recently so those of us that have been playing before this change have missed out on tons of FV cash. What does anyone think the chances are of getting reimbursed for said cash? It just sucks cause I could definitely be at least $15 richer right about now.
170 coins per day from grapes is either second best or best for coins overall. Do one day crops mature after exactly 24 or exactly 23 hours? If it’s 24, then Grapes are behind only Tomatoes in coins/hour at 7.08. If it’s 23, then they actually surpass Tomatoes with 7.39 coins/hour. Go team grapes.
Did anyone notice that they nerfed the tomatoes? They are no longer 191 coins per sale, they are like 173 now.
A good ribbon to earn is the Architect one. Spend 30,000 on 30 Rest Tents and you will get all four ribbons. The blue ribbon gave me 10,000 coins and XP each (I’m fairly sure, I clicked it too fast). Your friends get a 500 coin bonus from you. I kept 5 and sold the rest.
An easy one is the Not spoiled, just gifted ribbon. For the blue ribbon, you need 21 unique gifts in your gift box, something fairly easy to do if you have a lot of friends who play.
And yeah, that ugly ducking really is uuuuugly. They should make animal feed a feature, so the animals can level up too. The ugly duckling could hopefully evolve into a swan, or at least something easier on the eyes haha.
You could include percent growth/hour for the seeds.. I forget when I planted them and I’m growing sick of for calculating everything that takes longer than a day to grow
Thanks
You could include percent growth/hour for the seeds.. I forget when I planted them and I\’m growing sick of for calculating everything that takes longer than a day to grow
Thanks
How do you move or delete a plot of land that isn’t lined up with the rest?
how do I earn the FV money… not the coins the thing next to the coins…. how to get more of that? Can someone please answer… thank you
please update, we have new seeds, yellow melon, peas, grapes, etc.
Sugar Cane pay 239 not 235 so actually has a higher profit than tomatoes.
Pea
buy for 190 and sell for 381 thats 206 per crop including plow + 3 XP for planting !!!!!
To Jordan, Every level gives you an FV dollar or cash w.e
Need to add in the grapes!
buy for 85, sell for 270, 2XP, 1 day… about 7/hr
Also, ugly duckling and lost cow, too!
Thanks for your help!
Thank you very much for your guides.. I really love it.. But i would like to tell you.. Now, farmville have new seeds like grapes, peas, and asparagus.. Would you like to search it for us again? Coz my level had open the grapes seed, peas and asparagus not yet.. Please let me know if u have up date about it.. Thanks for your concern.. ^^
I got a tip on the quickly earning money by plowing land.
Soybeans cost 15 coins, which is just as much as it costs to plow the land. BUT it gives you 2 exp points!
So for every 30 coins you get 3 exp points in return!!!
Just wanted to share this little wıshdom
Grapes are now the best unless you can plow your tomatoes withing minutes after you harvest them.
Grapes – 85 coins – 1 days – 2EXp – 270 – 170 Coins – 7,0833 Coins/hour
Tomatoes are 7,25 Coins/hour
It´s impossible for the average person to harvest exactly at the same time as they plow so go for grapes. I just did the mistake to plant tomatoes everywhere…
Plant grapes!

I found an excellent, if time consuming, way to get experience fairly cheaply: Buy hundreds of hay bales, 100 each,5xp so 20 coins per xp. All of the more expensive things give 1 xp per hundred coins. I use an autoclicker for this, so I just need to wave my mouse over all the squares I want hay bales. Takes a long time to delete them though.
@Nunjo – Tomatoes have always yielded $173 ever since they were introduced. I haven’t made any changes in my spreadsheet since then and they’re in there listed at $173 sell.
Well I certainly remember them being 191 coins return, but that must have only been for a couple of days and then they reverted it back to 173. But I’m definitely positive I saw them at 191 for a bit.
are you sure you aren’t getting the 91 from the blueberries? I never remember tomatoes being 191 coins return.
are you sure you aren\’t getting the 91 from the blueberries? I never remember tomatoes being 191 coins return.
Updated
If i use my farm cash and buy fuel will i get another fuel tank? and is the fuel one time use? or is it permanent?
I’m getting pretty impatient, any word on when the 22×22 will become available? My farm is all smooshed and I’d love to have some room!
Hey 1 day= 23 hours on this game, so grapes are: 7,3913043478260869565217391304348 coins per hour,
BEST THAN TOMATOES, and if you think 20 mins, ich time you put then again, are like 1 hour more, so grapes are the best seeds if you are thinking of earning money
If I´m looking for xp, should I then do blueberries instead of going grapes and then buying hay bales?
I rather go for blueberries when I have the time.
how much xp do u get for asparagus
SO. When the ugly duckling is ready the option instead of collecting feathers from it is “Transform!” and it turns into a swan. It is MUCH more appealing on the eye.
Now to find out how much it’s worth . . .
Hi!
thanks for the guide. About the SEED GUIDE, I’ve calculated the price in coins/hours. I don’t understand how you calculate that.
I agree with the results for all the seed 1 day, for exemple : eggplant, you find : 1.3coins/hours
I calculate : (88-25-15)/48 = 1 coins/hour
How do you find 1,3 coins/hour… thanks for your answer !!
Denis
hey, if nobody here has figured it out, for people with large farms that want to speed up the time it takes to harvest/plow/re-plant their farms (without spending tons of money on fuel tanks) there is an awesome cheat called the farm-bug.
how you do it is you refresh your farmville as to place your avatar in the exact center of your farm. once there delete anything your avatar may be standing on. Then surround your avatar with message posts on all sides inside the square. This prevents your avatar from moving so you dont have to take the time to move from square to square.
its a MAJOR time saver.
Does this mean that 4 day crops are 92 hours instead of 96? or are the 1 day crops the only crops that benefit from the 23 hour day?
It\’s not letting me on this morning! Keep getting the game is out of sync message!!
@Denis – The Farmville “Day” is actually only 23 hours (If you read the footnote)
What does petting an animal do? Do they produce faster or more?
If you know send me an e-mail… amber2980@yahoo.com
Thanks!
How much XP do I need for rank 31-32?
Please answer me
I think that if you have a lot of time it’s better to plant BLACK BERRIES, it gaves you a lot of exp if you think that in 16 hours, you plant then 4 times, you get (with a 20×20 farm) 400×4=1600, then 400 more, it’s a total of 2,000 exp, and then if you plant tomatoes, because you have to go to sleep, are 800 exp more, so
in one day you get 2800 EXP!
In one week you can get 2800×7=19600 exp in a week.
And I KNOW YOU WON’T WIN TO MUCH MONEY, but the game it’s about EXP, not money
But I know that with money you can buy buildings and they gave you a lot of EXP, so I don’t know, I’ll be calculating wich form is better
Just to let you know that your fuel tank replenishes 1/50 point every two and a half minute….
Stats:
Blackberries: 117-(75+15)=27 coins.
Tomatoes: 173-(100+15)=58 coins.
Coins you win:
Tomatoes: 58×399=23142
Blackberries: (27×3)x399=32319
AND THE GOOD PART YOU WIN 2,800 EXP!,
________________________________________________________
Let’s see: Grapes?
Ok, 23 hours, hmmmm, 170 coins= 1 grape, 399 grapes: 67830 coins.
But 1197 of EXP (399×3), grapes= 2 exp, and plowing 1 exp.
( SORRY, MY FARM HAS 399 SPACES, ONE IS FOR A TRACTOR XD )
Sorry, I forgot to say, that if you think 20 minutes ich time you plant again, you lost like 100 minutes O.O, and the other is 23 hours + 20 minutes, so I don`t know, but I’m using the second strategy, the other it’s to boring, I use it on weekends
Other good thing to tell you, USE THE “FUEL TANK”, when you have to plant, so then when you have to catch then it’ll appear faster
I think when famrville gets 1,000,000 fans they have to take “Superberries” again!
And, please, farmville adminitrators put some new thing to plant faster, IT’S TO BORING TO CLICK LIKE 1,200 TIMES, AND THEN HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL EVERYTHING FINISH!
how long does it take for rice to go bad after its ready?
You are missing Blueberries in the seeds section.
Paty, it takes twice as long for a crop to go bad. Rice harvests in 12 hours, so in 24 hours, it will wilt.
T, Blueberries are in the Seed section, right below Pineapples. He lists them in the same order in the Farmville store.
Lvl 21 – 42 Ribbons
=)
is there a “Best Crops for Exp/Hour – list” including plowing somewhere?
i mean, e.g.:
strawberries:
1exp (plowing) + 1 exp (seed) = 2 exp
2 exp / 4 hours = 0.5 exp/hour
eggplant:
1 exp (plowing) + 2 exp (seed) = 3 exp
3 exp / 46 hours (2 days) = 0.065 exp/hour
@T Blue berries are there….:S
Btw – If anyone knows how much EXP asparagus gives please comment

Best for coins now… that’s what I’ve been using for a while.
what does it do when you buy a tractor or harvestor? does it like give you extra points or like not cist you to plow land what does it do with the fuel and all?
Best for experience is to buy hay bale. Instead buying windmill with 100.000 and get 1000xp (1xp / 100 coins), better haybale 100 coins / 5 exp. So, with 100.000 coins, you get 5000 xp
Well, you must sell haybales after you buy them.
i think peas are 7.33 per hour
Blueberries are missing from Best Crop for Money/Hour list…
also i think grapes are 7.08 per hour
PEOPLE! LOOK AT THE 23 HOUR DAY NOTE! Then do your calculations.
Cheapest and easiest xp is: 1 plow land, 2 seed soybeans, 3 delete, 4 repeat. that 3xp/30 coins
Can anyone help me? I have been gifting a neighbor on Farmville for 4 days and it shows the gifts are sent but he isn’t getting them. I think he might have accidentally clicked “ignore all invites”, how does he change this or what can he do? He wants my gifts.
Dan O, how hard can it be to try it yourself? You should write your name in the document to verify that your the creator.
My new Guide: http://gameolosophy.com/games/online/farmville-how-to-avoid-bankruptcy/
Id rather you didnt post link to your own stuff Dan :/
I don’t see how linking a spreadsheet with the information that you already have listed was a bad thing.. Sorry if this offended you. But to each is their own.
I still haven’t had an answer in regards to the question for the 23 hour day.. are 2 3 and 4 day crops affected by this? reducing them to 46, 69, and 92 hour crops?
Looks like you adjusted all the crops to be 23 hour days and 1 hour less per day for the crops beyond the 1 day.
TY
I would like to know what are those big coins coming out of the ground when I’m plowing!
while plowing a gold coin pops up and floats around for a few seconds then disappears. How do you retrieve it? Or what is it for?
what does it do when you buy a tractor and then you buy fuel is it something like gives you coins or what?
what would be the bset way to lvl at 10? plant rice or plant pumpins and raspberries in the same time frame?
I may be missing it, but I don’t see Blueberries on your list of best crops for money/hour.
Thanks for the great site!
Use a mouse click recorder ( I use mnouse recorder pro, its free) and then you can record the harvest plough and seeding of your farms and then replay the process with a couple of clicks rather than thousands.
I also have another mouse click macro to buy hay bails, 5xp for 100 and it plants 25 and then sells them. I set this to loop about 10 times per day which is the profit I take for my crops.
I\’m flyin by, but then my only intention is to hit 35 and get a manor house then close the farm. If you wanna have fun then this prolly isnt for you. Then again if you think clicking a 20×20 farm 4 times a day 3 times per field is fun…. Well, each to their own!
BOOOM
I saw on the new guide that you can now help neighbors harvest and get paid for it, how do you do this? I went to a neighbor’s farm and clicked around but couldn’t figure out how.
Grapes don’t yield as much money as you say.
170/24 is not 7.39 coins/hour.
Learn how to divide!!!
OMG!!
GONZALO!!!! READ THE ASTERISK!!!! a farmville day is 23 hours!
@Robyn – Ty :O
@Betty your invited
@James: Great site/guide, keep up the good work! Brian says Asparagus is 2Exp, i can’t confirm that myself though.. Oh, and I’m also getting irritated at the people who can’t READ!! :@ A day is 23 hours, not 24 in FarmVille.
@Paul Streubel: Tell your friend to go the applications list (http://www.facebook.com/editapps.php?v=feed) and fiddle around with the settings there. There should be one that allows FarmVille to send/receive notifications again. Let us know how that works out.
@Dan O: James had this fixed since Sept. 13th when Darthjavo, among others, pointed it out.
@Wilma: Those gold coins account for 100 FarmVille coins and get added to your balance automatically.
Thanks for the Guide!
Betty, I don’t know if farmville is incorporating the harvest a friends farm. On farmtown however, a similiar facebook application you get hired from the markets, to harvest other peoples farms.
great site.
A few corrections – they JUST fixed the multiple visits bug this morning. Although it does appear that it works when you leave the farm or various other activities, and return the multiple points will be taken away.
Hi James!
Just two observations:
- maybe Asparugus exp is missing or what?? and i’m pretty far from reaching 37 level…
- it could be useful the level at which a crop become available
A very good and useful work indeed, James.
Thanks a ton!

Lol, Dw
Ty for asparagus verification!
Im working on a levelling guide too
Just wanna say that it would be really could a seed with this stats:
215 sell – (100 cost + 15 plow) = 100 coins.
12 hours, two times a day
2 EXP + 1EXP plowing = 3 EXP
and the name could be..mmm…Orange?
8,33 coins per hour
, and you have to be level 36?
HOT AIR BALLOOOOOOOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
With Hot Air Balloons available this weekend, I’m starting to wander if they’re gonna pull a trick and decide after the weekend that they’re worth a ton of cash or something.
@Jon: That may be likely! I wouldn’t be surprised. Novelty/antique, what’s the word I’m looking for..? type item, rare and unique, definitely worth a bundle. However, without a public marketplace for people to share/sell/buy items, you’re only going to be sell the Hot Air Balloon back to the system, which is pointless and makes the item THAT much rarer. For now, it’s selling price is 0 coins, which is bound to change. But seriously, without a public marketplace, there’s no real point in it.
I’m sure they’ll roll out some sort of buying/selling from neighbours feature eventually.
@Garchoto: Minimum 1 day crops get 2+ Exp, but that WOULD be cool.
Man i was hoping for superberries, not hot air balloons. You don’t even get any experience for the balloons either
When I plough my fields coins come up out of the soil, fly into the air, land and disappear. I’m sure this is a good thing but what am I supposed to do? what does it mean?
Awesome guide, helped me a lot. I’m currently working on grapes. They are awesome and give great income!
Any thoughts on the hot air balloon?
I believe they’ll all float away after a while
I doubt they’ll be worth much after the weekend. There’s really no incentive for them to do that. Unless of course they make the trade-in worth cash instead of coins. That would be nice!
Another idea is that you could “ride” the balloon over ALL Farmville farms! Like a Google Earth for Farmville… of course you won’t be able to land and help someone with weeds, but it would be cool to fly over everything and just look.
Another idea… offer rides when publishing to your wall. Someone could visit your farm via your balloon at the cost of 10 coins or whatever. LOL The more balloons you have, the more rides you can offer per day.
are the hot air ballons going to do something? /be of any worth? or do they just take up alot of valuable space?
Just now, while collecting from my animals, mysterious black, slightly blurry text popped up that said, “This animal is ____.” I didn’t catch all of it cause it was unexpected and I wasn’t paying attention.
Has this happened to anyone else before? I want to know what the rest of the message was!
You know what the game needs? An inventory option where you can store purchased items you don’t want/need to use. It’s a pain to sell items every time you want to redecorate or redecorating and having to use every single thing you already own. I’d like to tuck things away for future use, thankyouverymuch.
You have worng yout counts.
For Example – 2 Day in Eggplant is 48 hours (36 hours as you count) therefore 48 coins you get per two days so 1 Coins per hour.
Same mistake is with all other “more than day” plants
Blueberries give 10.25 gold per hour, if ive done my math correct. 91 for harvesting, minus 50 for planting, divided by 4 hours. 91-50=41, 41/4= 10.25. BLUEBERRIES ARE VERY GOOD MONEY.
@Betty: “This animal is busy.” You were probably collecting from the animal at the time. Try it again if you’d like. Click collect from animal, then click on the animal again.
What to do..
Yes, that would be very useful. I completed my ‘gifts’ ribbon so I just leave what I can in there, but it gets full and I end up dumping everything on to my farm again. I also have the buildings and decorations ribbons, so I have no use in any extra non-crop/tree/animal items anymore. What would you suggest I do with them? Discard them? I feel like I’m wasting the money I put in to (some) of them, and the free ones, well those are sentimental.
@Jan Kovalcik: Wow. :\ (read the asterisks)
The hot air balloons are great for completing your pack rat ribbons. At least up to the red ribbon requirements of 100 since you’d need a 16×16 to get the blue ribbon requirements of 250.
Right now it’s 10x cheaper than hay bails.
So true! It’s particularly annoying now that you can gift decorations. I mean, really. Where am I gonna put a million white fences and green hay bales that I didn’t ask for? Hahaha.

You have forgot to count with the ploughing cost, and considering it only takes 4 hours for it to grow, you’ll spend alot of resources on just ploughing. The right way to calculate it would be:
91(Sell price) -50(Seed price) -15(Ploughing) = 26 / 4(hours) = 6,5 (Coins per hour).
So the formula is sinply Sell price – Seed pride – Ploughing price (15) and then dividing it by the amount of hours the growing process takes.
I didn’t read all the comments so maybe this has been said.
The fastest and CHEAPEST way to gain experience; it is a bit of a time consumer though!! Rather than spend $100,000 on a windmill for 1,000 exp, just buy hay and sell it right back. Each costs 100 (5 coins back when you sell) and they give you 5 exp. So you could get that 1,000 exp for only 19,000, not 100,000!!!!
@Betty, @Ariun, just sell those excess items off and use that space for more efficient xp/coin producing items(crops).
@hameastra
That makes sense I guess, but you have to plow for every crop so I just leave it out. But now that I think about it again, blueberries would require more plowing because they only take 4 hours to grow. I like this though, because plowing is a pretty inexpensive way to gain exp. And the more times you can do that in a day, the fast you’ll level.
hay bales are the fastest xp.every 200 bales gives you 1000xp.bit time consuming but if you have beries growing you can do this between harvests. mind out for rsi in your clicker finger tho!!
at exp champ: the cheapest way to get exp is to plow, plant soybeans and delete….; plowing will give you 1 exp, planting soybeans will give you 2 exp at the price of 30 coins total. this means 30 coins for 3 exp. when your done planting you delete the soybeans and start over and over ….
@Jonathan: They are also 16 times more estate consuming. So no, not a good way to get your Pack Rat ribbon. I (as with many others) just kept buying hay bales – which worked out for me because I started doing this After they allowed multiple hay bales per visit to market – and this also helped with the experience trick.
. But whatever works for you. : )
However, for experience, I do the soybean delete method.. which leads me to my next point:
@Glenn: That is not ‘the’ cheapest way. 30 coins for 3 exp = 10coins/exp. 10000 coins for 1000 exp also = 10coins/exp. Hence, they are both equally cost efficient. I do the soybean delete method because I find the hay bale method – although able to click multiple times, and in turn reduce the time – in fact More time consuming because I waste more time clicking on them individually when deleting and often misclick when attempting to go fast. A crop takes up more space, so I tend to click with better accuracy, therefore reducing time taken to delete. Uhh, I know, I’m going in too deep analytically
@Ryan: Yes, you do have to account for the plowing cost. James’ “Best Crops for money/Hour” (second list in guide) lists the best return from crops in order. I can only go as high up as grapes (at level 27), but usually plant tomatoes for the short term experience.
If only there was a way to delete crops without confirmation… Then I’d plant soybeans on the entire farm, delete, and repeat. How awesome (but easy, too easy..) would that be!
@Jon: Yes that is what I’m doing. There really isn’t any point in keeping those items (unless you care about making your farm look “pretty”, which I’m not saying you shouldn’t!.. : ) ). But the ones earned through achievements, I kind of feel bad discarding them. I still have a few, but they’re not taking up any room that could otherwise be used for crops, so no worries there.
Just curious, how serious are you guys about achievements? I still have 10 ribbons to do (done 50 out of 60).
A very good job by the guide creator.. As far as i know, this site is the best Farmville guide on the web.
Remember, money is for XP, so… calculate money/XP it’snot easy. If you buy Hay Bale, you will gain $/20 XP. After that, you can sell Hay Bale, of course. If you buy buildings, you will gain $/100 XP, and your farm will be smaller, but more beautifull. So, think about what do you want for your farm? beauty or productivity?
Sorry for my poor english.
@Shankaran R
Why thank you
Guys – Dont fight
I have a technique to quickly gain the experience with less money. Plow on all your farm
Plant soybeans throughout your farm
Destroy and again!
As you earn 3XP for 30 Coins
Result: 10 coins = 1 XP
Wrong calculation on coins per hour for peas and grapes.
Peas: 7.333
Grapes: 7.08
So Asparagus is the best crop for coins per hour.
@ arjun your correct; whatever works best we all have our own methods….lol but with plowing your field you get some golden coin so now and then …..but were going in too deep analytically….lol and i’m at level 35
and i’m missing four blue ribbons good samaritan, cream of the crop, knock on wood and zoologist (they all have ridiculous numbers to achieve) but just add me glenn kock
@ james i would love to add you too!
Is there a final prize for getting ALL the ribbons?
James how can I find you on facebook so I can beg you “won’t you be my neighbor?” Jacqueline Olson
Hey I just thought I would throw this out there in regards to shamelessly whoring xp (as you suggest with the plowing/deleting method). First off, you get the xp from your seeds WHEN YOU PLANT THEM, not when you harvest, so if you planted, say, strawberries, which cost 10 coins, that’s an xp for 10 coins. so instead of just plowing/deleting (which nets you 1 xp for 15 coins) you can plow/plant strawberries/delete which costs 25 coins for 2 total xp, making each xp cost 12.5 coins. that’s the most efficient way to whore xp that i can think of.
Now i also wanted to throw out there that this method is very very annoying and anyone would hate to sit there and do it. So what I do instead of going for efficiency is i’ll plant an entire field of whatever crop i’m planting, and use the rest for…. hay bales! they give you 5 xp per bale, cost 100 coins (meaning 20 coins per xp), and appear instantly, meaning no wait time for the plowing/planting (which is greatly lessened by that glitch, but still is time), not to mention you’re getting 5 xp at once for one teeny square instead of 1 xp per plow/plant.
Alright, that’s my two bits, hope to see it in your next update
Oh goodness, i didn’t sift through those comments before i posted my lengthy one, please disregard my previous comment, seeing as others are smarter than i lol. i didn’t think about soybeans with their 2 xp only 15 coin cost. that’s legit!
I have done the plow plant soybeans twice now and wow it takes alot of time. It is boring and will make your fingers go stiff. But the real problem is the time it takes…. counting the interruptions, bio brakes, etc. I found that it would have been more efficient to plant blueberries and harvest them as I ran over 4 hrs. I will try the hay bale idea because while I am buying and selling hay bales a harvest can be growing
…. thank you, that is all.
I was so upset; I had 40 chickens all lined up in my chicken farm. But it slows down my machine something special. Also I can fry an egg on my processor as it hit 83 degrees celcius.
The chickens are gone and I’ll not bother with too many animals moving forward. Trees are the way to go…
Love all the comments here, most complete forum on FarmVille… Can you imagine if those 40+ million users found your site?
Time to expand your farm…
ok I want to follow up on my post from earlier today….
I tried the buying hay for experience and I can say that it is better for me. As I said, the plowing and planting soybeans and then deleting them is very time consuming, and I found myself afk from the computer several times and it ended up taking several hours. I find the buying hay bales to be alot more efficient. First of all, buying is super easy as you can buy hay really quick. Its the deleting of the hay bales that is time consuming. But hay takes up very little space…. 16 hay bales fit into one square of harvest…. So what you can do is plant a crop in your field but leave about 20 squares open by deleting the space so that it is green and buy hay bales to fill up the squares getting 80 XP per square getting 1600 XP and also getting all the RIBBONS for PACK RAT! …. then you will have to delete all the bales of hay but at least your crop is growing while your doing it! Woot! …..thank you, that is all.
You can *Sorta* cheat with assist. If you click the same neighbours farm, and “Help”. Then do it again before the Help box appears (Below) you can assist that farm more than once!
you can’t you won’t keep the exp/coins after a relog
Just so you know, I’ve done the calculations (and you can double check them) but the fuel tank for the machinery takes 5 hours to replenish completely, if you wanted to add that in somewhere.
LOOKING FOR NEIGHBORS TO FARMVILLE LVL 15 ruslan95@hotmail.com

Keep the suggestions and criticisms coming!!
I just got my level 31 and at the rate the experience is going up 1000 per level at the moment, is 80,000 exp needed for level 34? Because if so (and i save my money until then) i should have a villa in 27 days
Hi, If a neighbour is away and cannot log to attend his farm, can I visit and harvest for him so his plants won’t die? If so, how do I do it?
tnx
josssem
Dammit, Rotate should be an option on EVERYTHING!!!
I found this website useful as I’m currently at level 34 with 3K XP to level 35. I had thought about buying 3 windmills to reach level 35 (to see what broccoli returns, which is less than peas). I plant peas on a 18X20 grid providing just over 1,000 XP/day. I’m about 400K coins away from buying the villa, which will boost my XP by 10,000. I’m currently #1 in my friends list with someone behind by 12K XP (he’s at level 33). I’m working my way to the blue ribbons of Knock on Wood and Zoologist and I expect to obtain them in a week. I have planted over 300 cherry trees and own 300 farm animals of which 75% are chickens.
I have three questions: how many spaces does the villa take, will Zynga introduce predatory animals (wolves/fox/coyote) and when can I expect to expand to a 22X22 grid?
As a suggestive seed crop, I recommend Zynga introduce saffron crocus, but it will probably take a week to harvest (lol).
thanks
Peter
I just hit level 37 and everything just froze. Anyone know if this is normal? I can’t buy anything as the market doesn’t load at all. I can’t place my gifts. Only thing I can do is collect from trees and animals that are already there. And of course help friends and do the plowing/deleting. SOooo slow…
So is this just a glitch or normal behaviour so I can’t advance further yet?
lol. . .
you’re all very funny. . . i can get 10K xp a day. . .
but it takes your time..hehehe
add me as ur neighbor….i am at level 25
nothing appear in my facebook regarding farmville.. so i can’t celebrate friend’s ribbon or give home for cow, ugly duck etc… what should i do?
here’s how to make 10K Xp /day..
and i just figure it out yesterday.. i got 7K only (coz to boring..lol)
you must have 20 X 20 Farm Size.. plant 20 x 18 = 360 with tomatos(the most profit until level 25, i’m lvl 25 now) and you can put the other 2 x 18 field with your stuff..
and the rest 2 X 2 this is where your XP come from. . .
plow the square (2 X 2) and plant it with soybeans (2 XP for 15 coins) and each time you plant that you got 3XP with 30 Gold..
after you plant it delete the field and repeat it..
it you got 200k in your cash, then you can get 20K XP..
with the tomatos plant you can get about 50K a day (5000XP) + plowing and planting the tomatos about 1200XP
total is 6k ++ XP a day..
or you can try to plant it with blue or black berries which give more XP..
use this trick to race your buddy’s level
Regards
SuNG
Yahoo : luckyseven44
Facebook : SuNG El Nino
Based on my calculations, the most XP you can really get in a day is… 8760
20×20 farm, 3 times blackberries, 1 time tomatoes.
The other time is used to do that plow-plant soybeans-delete trick. Although this is 5560 XP from that trick, which means you’ll have to plant…around 1850 soybeans and the deleting is a VERY painful process.
check into Bales of Hay. Best exp. for the money. Unless you have time to plow and delete and plow and delete. 100g = 5exp however you can sell hay for 5g so, 100g – 5g = 95g per 5exp. I got to lvl 21 in 1 week. Hay Bales… easily best exp. I would harvest, plow, plant, then use excess money on hay. Then when plants ripen – Repeat – Repeat…
I’ve ran out of space but have a load of money. what should i spend it on?
Wow guys, almost 200,000 Views O_O
In addition to my earlier comment regarding predatory animals, Zynga may wish to consider meteorological hazards such as flash floods, lightning and tornadoes. Loss of livestock and damaged crops may not appeal to newbie farmers, but you have to admit that it will make the game more interesting. Rodents, insects and disease can be introduced but may create a rift between conventional and organic growers.
I have noticed recently that farm animals are easier to harvest. Zynga has lowered the graphics resolution on my 300 chickens so I can harvest them at normal speed. Previously, it took like 20 seconds to harvest each bird. If speed is an issue for some, use your vehicles near your animals. When you scroll away from the animals (they disappear off screen), the speed returns to normal (is this something unique to my user interface or have others noticed this?).
thx
Peter
Anyone know when the 22×22 and 24×24 farms become available?
Im Still Level 18….What do i do?
QuakerPete:Dont know, are you tired of seeing that ‘coming soon’?
I’m looking for Farmville neighbors on facebook. Look for me “Peter Kim” with the Polynesian shirt holding a lobster. Please be “gay-friendly.” If you are into Bear (the gay male kind) and/or leather culture, kudos! I can gift the olive tree, which seems to happen every four days (why is this?)
Onions: 275-(170+15)=90 coins.
7,5coins/hour
They must be on the third place, not 7
Green Tea now available- 105 coins to plant, sell for 191 coins in 10 hours, and get 1 experience
Mkay, recent discovery that hasn’t seemed to pop up yet!
When you pet your animals now, hearts float out of them. Maybe they’ll harvest faster or make more money? Does anyone know for sure?
i think green tea is the best profit crop now….8.6 coin per hour….
Thanhster, you forgot to take off 15 for plow cost.
yeah, after plow, its 7.1/hour
xHayJay67x – Sure am tired of that “Coming Soon” on extending the farm . . . I need more land
and I need it now!!! All those coins burning a hole in my pocket.
So what’s about green tea?
And farmville Flags?
which are the benefits?
Why does zynga not release the 22×22 &24×24 expansion…. and introduce some new ribbons to be collected… because i am a bit bored now…
So I bought a 10 fuel tank, and I’m left at 8 now. It won’t refill back to 10? :S
Does anyone by any chance know how you get the 20×20 plantation without having 16 neighbors? I have 20 FV Dollars which took forever to get and now it says I have to get the “homestead” first. Yet one of my neighbors who is 2 levels below me got it right away. I know he does not have 16 neighbors either.
I’m level 20 btw.
Wonder if Facebook have had a huge rise in the number of people registering . . . loads of new false accounts just to get Farmville neighbours (whistles!!!)
Green Tea added!
strawberries give 1xp + 1xp for plowing/ 4 hrs = 2x per 4 hours
raspberries give 0xp + 1xp for plowing/ 2 hrs = 2xp per 2 hours
so they give equal xp
but!
strawberries = 10 coin profit every 4 hrs
raspberries = 22 coin profit every 4 hrs
raspberries > strawberries… ALL THE WAY!!!
Yup
sometimes while harvesting the crops, a coin flips out and then before you can react, it just disappears. What’s that about?
apes – The coin that you find while plowing gives 100 coins.
New crop green tea.
Cost 105
XP 1
Harvest in 10 hours
Sell for 191
i have a problem with the farmville cash i get cash randomely when im not leveling or anything and i dont know how im making it because i want more…do you know how to make it?
Two questions about vehicles-
1.If you have a vehicle (let’s take the tractor) and you plant four squares of land, do you get the full 4 xp for each field or do you only get 1?
2. If you have 3 vehicles, do they share the same fuel tank or do they have seperate ones?
From the formulas above, the only thing that is taken into account is coins per hour. It does not take into account XP per hour which is also an important factor.
I created a table to contain XP per hour. In this, I added one to each crop for plowing (since before each time you plant a crop you must plow the land). Strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries all come out to 0.5 XP per hour (the highest of all crops). Next is aloe vera at 0.333, then pumpkins, tomatoes, and sugar cane at 0.25.
I then calculated a term I call power, which is the product of coins per hour and XP per hour. This will estimate the most powerful crop; that is, the one with the most money value in terms of coins per hour and XP value per hour.
Of those with power of at least 1.000, the most powerful crops, in descending order and rounded to the nearest thousanth with their corresponding harvesting time in hours (assuming 23 hour days), are:
3.375 Blackberry 4
3.250 Blueberry 4
2.750 Raspberry 2
1.844 Sugar Cane 8
1.813 Tomato 8

Then it is a matter of how often you can harvest your crops. If you can do it every 4 hours, the blackberries are the most powerful. If you can only do it every 6 hours, aloe vera (but you are better off doing it every 8 hours with sugar cane); 8 hours, sugar cane; 10 hours, green tea; 12 hours, onions (but you are better off doing it every 16 hours with asparagus or every day with peas); 16 hours, asparagus; and daily, peas.
This also assumes you have access to all of the crops, which is only valid if you are at the maximum level. Since you can only crop what you have access to, you need to see what is best for you at any particular time.
I hope this helps. Good luck.
CONFIRMED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DON’T BUY FUEL WITH YOUR FV Cash!!!!!!!
ITS NOT REFILL TANK.. its just spare fuel.. when you’re done with it, the fuel will refill to 150 only!!!!!
i just tested by my own yesterday.. coz i have 30FV cash..
to get FV cash you must earn blue ribbon.. sometimes it give 1 or 2 FV cash.. i’m level 27 and only have 30FV cash..
coz i have some blue ribbon to complete..
Hi im level 25, im anybody would like to add me to facebook (Paul Keys) i will happily be your neighbour and send you gifts.
Cheers Paul
What are superberries? And what level do I unlock them at?
How does the shutterbug work? I keep taking different pictures of my farm but the statistics never increase so i’m not getting any ribbons?
Thanks
david, u gotta take pics of unique farms.. so your own several times over, won’t do the trick..
What is with the hot air balloons, how do I get my black sheep out of the balloon, will the balloon go away???
so how do you make them unique to take a picture of? it doesn’t let you take pics of other people’s farms though does it?
the hot air balloon was just a decoration, i sold mine so maybe your sheep has just got stuck somehow as a glitch
I have been getting farmville building gifts and I go to accept them but then when I go to my farm they are not in my gift box…. how do I get them???
=)
SO. MANY. COMMENTS!!
To David: Yes, you can visit your neighbours farm, while there you will still be able to see the camera button. Take a picture and when it pops up, press accept. Each farm only counts once so taking a pic. of the same farm will not help you. Hope this helps
Also, I love this site even though I already knew most that’s on it it’s still really helpful and well done
To Alaina: This is an application not directly connected to Farmville. It’s just for fun and doesn’t actually count towards Farmville.
How come the superberries are gone?
It was just a weekend thing b/c they reached 500,000 people. Hopefully they’ll bring them back again some time
to David : you can click the “my neighbour” tab in the upper section of the application.. and just click the name of your friends(who play FV) that you want to visit (even you’re not their neighbour yet)..
@glen : glen.. sure it is the cheapest xp to gain.. (plow . plant soybean, delete) its cost 10coins/Xp.. i wonder how arjun count the other method also the same 10000 coins for 1000 XP..
FYI Arjun: if you buy decorations or something else expensive, it gives you 1% of your money into Xp.. for example 100000 coins windmill give 1000Xp.. so it cost 100coins/Xp instead of 10cions/Xp
CMIIW
nb: Glen, sorry i haven’t see you post the same method of mine earlier.. coz i just join the talks.. =p
yeah… before you could right click an animal and click ‘pet’ but nothing happened… and now you do pet them (proof by the hearts floating up of the animals
omg my watermelons are taking forever to grow
When with the 22×22 farm be released and will it have any minimal requirements besides coins to purchase? I’m in much need of a bigger farm with all of the trees and animals I have… I only have 1 building so it’s not taking up THAT much space!
lol wow it worked, i guess i just thought you couldn’t take pics of other people’s farms lol. thanks for the help!!
i’m trying to sort out getting ribbons then clearing them down e.g. almost done the 4 for the decorations but after that will just sell the hay bales and work on the others like using the space for trees lol i can’t believe i’m so hooked to this game
S
hi the cheat wih assist no longer works dan
here’s new info for you guys..
how to get 1FV Cash..
i got 1 FV cash when i transform my ugly duckling to Swan..
Hi, I skimmed through quickly, I keep seeing the 1FV per level mentioned; I’m at level 22 with 18 FV, and have well past 30 ribbons. My wife stared a week later and has 20 FV, and hasn’t started on some of the achievements.
The one thing she has done is added a couple more neighbors than I, but otherwise, I’m the s-kicker in the family, but have fewer FV bucks. I agree the entertainment value of $5 real bucks is a low price, but resist on principle. So I see the FV bucks as the real mystery here. Maybe its some color ribbons, but not others, Maybe you increase slower as you go up in level. Maybe its all just random to frustrate us into spending real bucks. Maybe it’s Mabeline. In any case, this game is more addicting than any others I’ve tried, and this guide and forum is great fun. Reality is overrated.
Hi James, could you add “exp / hour” in the seed guide?
Thanks to a great guide!
I know you say berries are the best but i like to see things in numbers
Hey i just wanted to say you have an awesome guide here! but i wanted to know if you could atall put something up about which gifts are \”unique\” and which arent so its easier to get the spoiled not gifted achievment! Thanks in advance.
Hey i just wanted to say you have an awesome guide here! but i wanted to know if you could atall put something up about which gifts are \\\\\\\”unique\\\\\\\” and which arent so its easier to get the spoiled not gifted achievment! Thanks in advance.
A better method for quickly gaining experience than just plowing and clearing and repeating, is plow, then plant strawberries, then clear, then repeat. Plowing costs 15 coins, planting strawberries is only 10. So, for 100 cycles of plowing, planting, and clearing, you get 200 exp. and pay 2500 coins. If you just plow and clear 200 times, you would still get 200 exp., but pay 3000 coins.
Adding to my last post, 200 iterations of plowing and clearing comes up to 600 mouse clicks (since you have to click twice to clear the land). Plowing, planting strawberries, and then clearing 100 times to get the same 200 exp. will only be 400 mouse clicks. For anybody who gets tired of clicking over and over and over and …
should i upgrade my farm size as soon as i can or should i wait?
@jaundice..
its cheaper if you plant soy beans instead of strawberries.. i’ve mentioned before..
@Jason: to get that Ribbon is easy.. every gift is “unique” you MUST NOT use it.. just have them at the gift box. . . until you reach the number, then you got your Ribbon.. Voila!! =)
@John : upgrade as soon as you can.. and plant according the time you can harvest
thanks sung but i have 30 gifts in my gift box yet i only have the lvl 3 ribbon. and 30 is the max amount of gifts
All 30 gifts have to be different. If you have multiples of the same item just use them and leave one in there.
Exp/Hour Section….Yes….That may just work! Ill do it soon! Promise :3
oh alright. ty betty really you have no idea how long ive been trying to figure that out XD
i disagree with the money making theory for all of this.. the best way to level up and constantly make money if you have the time to do so.. is as follows. blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, and then raspberries.. if you notice.. on an entire day.. you can crop every 2 to 4 hours.. as of right now i use blueberries beacuse you get 2 exp pts from farming every 4 hours and it gives the best money available. i used to do raspberries being you can harvest every 2 hours which was fine.. you get money back and you get 1 exp from plowing. but in acuality if you realize that in a 4 hour span you get 2 exp pts and then you get 22 coins back for raspberries within two harvests.. now that i have blueberries i make the most money back along with EXP every 4 hours until blackberries become available.. hope this helps some of you.. because the longer a crop takes to harvest the more you lose out.. i have an excel spread sheet with all the stats if you like.. let me know..
ry
I have to make a correction about being able to ’sorta’ cheat by helping out your neighbors: it doesn’t work. I tried this when I accidentally found out about it. When you reload Farmville after doing the ’sorta cheat’, all of the experience and money you earn from helping the same neighbor the 2nd time and after is lost, nor do the additional ‘attempts’ go towards the ‘Good Samaritan’ ribbon; it only counts the first time you help out a neighbor that day.
It made me upset when I found out about it not working, considering I helped a neighbor out about 50-60 times, then reloaded Farmville, and realized the money, experience, and ‘helping count’ were not there.
Anyone having problems with Farm Neighbors disappearing from the list at the bottom and / or not being able to add others?
I disagree with the way you’re categorizing the crops. I believe that the best crop is the soybean because you get over 400% money back versus other crops.
im 2000 coins away from getting the 16×16 upgrade but idk if i should plant tonight and buy that tomorrow or just go for the 14×14 upgrade tonight? pls help
the game makes you expand in order. so you have to do the 14 x 14
@john, yeah you should do the expand in order.. from the smallest to the biggest..
@quakepeter : no problem here..
@jen : it depends on how much time do you spend to play this game.. if you plant the blue berries for example, you get more cash back than if you plant soy bean which you can harvest in 1 days.. maybe its better choose soybean if you have insufficient funds to plant tomatoes in all of your farm..
@jason : yeah, i forgot to mention that every gift must be different or it won’t be counted..
Didn’t find anyone mentioning this, so here goes: Sometimes when you plow your fields, a coin pops up. This adds to your Farm Cash. It seems pretty random, but that’s one way of getting more Farm Cash.
Croma, its not FarmCash, its FarmCoins (100) that you get from that. Apparently there is a 1% chance that you get it, but sometimes I get 3 in one plowing session, which is nice…
How cool would it be to rotate the FARM in its entirety… This way you can access those plowed plots that your trees seem to hide… But then again I’m already having speed issues… I don’t think they will be able to pull that off.
Actually, I take that back. I was pretty sure that it added cash, but it seems to only add coins afterall. My bad.
about the most money and exp…
why not just plant grapes over the entire farm instead of wasting your time on 3-day crops which give hardly any exp or coins. it may sound cool but it’s useless..
More updates soon!
Including more info and help in the main sections aswell as another addition to the seed guide of exp/hour.
Also, more FAQ’s from all of your comments that have been answered!!!!!!!
to Paul Keys – tried to friend you in facebook; there are 205 paul keys listed.
There’s probably only one David Staerck!! I guarantee lol my surname is bit odd
I wonder if there are any plans in the future to either make it able to rotate your farm in it’s entirety or be able to rotate the buildings, like the barns.
Because as it is you can only use them on one side or the other.
(by jaundice)
My comment: Soybeans are better because they give 2exp for only 15 coins. The fastest way to gain experience (if you are relative rich in coins) is do the “plow-plant soybeans-clear” cycle repeatedly until you have no more money =)
is it possible to get bigger farm lands without giving up 20 farmcash? I see people saying “Im just 2000 coins away from 14×14″ You can do with coins?
they just added a baby elephant as a gift.
Add me as a friend if you want I know we all can use more.
phatchetmanp@aol.com
Haven’t posted in a while.
@James: I’ve posted a exp/day list. Someone should double check it. I’ll work out a exp/hour list if you’d like, but I’m sure you’ll get to it before I do.
@previous: It’s a little buggy, and doesn’t give me the right outputs.. but looks great! Keep it up, and I’m sure it’ll be right up there with the other guides.
Anyway, a few random things:
-Baby elephants are for a limited time online (two days I believe).
-Yes it Would be great to be able to change views (I’m thinking Roller Coaster Tycoon), but yes it Would also cause more programming difficulty since they already have this single-view isometric display going. One suggestion is put your crops starting from the bottom corner of your farm, trees on the right, animals on the left, and decorations in the top corner. Works for me anyway! Don’t need to worry about clicking on animals/trees when attempting to click crops.
Talking about guides, if you haven’t already, check out http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=rrFQP5AOGa4yUZCL-1VLUyg&gid=1 . No offence, but they got you beat James. But of course, people come Here because they want to see text and pictures as well. Not to mention communicate with others! So again, keep up the great work! Just give more recognition to those who contribute..
Regarding the Soybean-Delete method, yes it’s very useful, and yes it’s very time consuming. Which you think is a greater waste of time (hay bale vs. soybean) is your call, but I use soybean-delete. And recently I worked out a, umm, I’m not sure if I should post this – only one other poster here has mentioned it (Mzki) – but anyone heard of a macro? Good luck! : )
Ps. Takes the ‘fun’ out of it though.. Just a warning.
Pps. Anyone with Twitter, click link ^. : )
@Above, Yes. I cant do all of that on here!
But i can make it simpler for people, which it is currently!
@All
Guys, Dont post bots and third party software! I don’t want people complaining on here because of you :3
It would be nice if for trees and animals you didn’t have to keep going back to the market to buy another one!
Lol I wonder if the elephant will provide us with fertilizer . . .
:/
How long can plowed land remain unplanted? I am wanting to get my stuff on a cycle, but don’t want to lose anything. I guess it probably wouldn’t matter that much to replow it, but just curious. Thanks! Great site, BTW!
You can leave it unplanted as long as you like! It just stays as is, nothing happens to it if you don’t.
they remove the shutterbug ribbon..
nice calculator there WofTools
what is with the master crop things. . .?
anyone got clue. . .?
i’ll make an experiment with raspberry now (the fastest to harvest)
@James, good call to avoid bots on this page… What is the point in having the work done for you? Its a game, games should be played, my opinion personally anyways…
@SuNG good, there is an incentive now for people to plant other crops than just the usual. Get 3 stars and you get an award. Can’t wait to harvest my Watermelons that I planted AGES ago… But then have to do it two times more…
Have to admit, they keep making changes that keep you coming back for more… I know some people that are right bored with it because they have too many coins, can’t expand, so can’t really do anything other than make coins.
Fun fun fun…
Anyone know how many plots of each crop you need to harvest to get the new seed mastery for each of the three levels? Is it different for every seed?
you need more points for quick grown seeds to reach mastery stars, as far as i know…
FARM VILLE RAP!!! Love it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_kFIYeFhao&feature=player_embedded
Enjoy
They added 2 new decorations. They are hedge archways 1 with a gate.
Ohhhh, like the hedge arch and gate
Crop Mastery (at least for 1st Star) harvests needed:
Strawberry 800
Eggplant 125
Wheat 100
Soybeans 200
Squash 125
Pumpkin 1500
Artichokes 100
Rice 400
Raspberries 1500
Cotton 100
Bell Peppers 150
Peppers 250
Aloe Vera 800
Pineapples 150
Blueberries 1200
Watermelon 100
Grapes 300
Tomatoes 750
Potatoes 150
Carrots 600
Coffee 500
Corn 150
Sunflowers 400
Cabbage 200
Green Tea 800
Black Berries 1500
Red Wheat 150
Sugar Cane 900
Peas 450
Yellow Melon 150
Onion 750
Broccoli 250
Asparagus 600
How do u check what your Mastery score is?
I think you weren’t consistent in calculating the profit/h values:
e.g. Tomato: 58 coins profit/patch, ready after 8 hours.
58/8 = 7,25 – that’s what you calculated.
But when a day lasts only 23 hours, 8 hours are “really” 7,66 hours; the profit/h would then be 7,565.
If one hour in the game only consists of 57,5 minutes, you must conclude this in your calculation, otherwise the values are incorrect (especially in relation to those calculated with one hour á 60 minutes).
With all hours counting 57,5 minutes Asparagus would be the new number one, which seems to be very logical to me.
I think you were inconsistent with your calculation of profit/h values.
You say a day in game lasts only 23 hours, not 24.
e.g. Tomato: profit/patch = 58. Ready in 8 hours.
58/8 = 7,25 just like you calculated.
But only if a day lasts 24 hours! If a day lasts 23 hours, one hour in game consists of 57,5 minutes and not of 60.
So the correct value for Tomato would be 7,57 (58/7,66).
This makes many values incorrect, especially in relation to those with correct calculation.
With the consistent correct calculation of 57,5 minutes/hour Asparagus would be the new number one, which seems to be much more logical than peas.
Greets
@Ro, MouseOver the status bar of each crop which shows you your Mastery score per crop and what you need to achieve the star.
Anyone know if these crop requirements will go up for each star, this could take a while
Oh and PS: the elephant will give you Circus Nuts at 125 coins…
My ranking:
1 Asparagus
2 Sugar Cane
3 Peas
4 Tomato
5 Green Tea
6 Grapes
7 Onions
8 Sunflowers
9 Coffee
10 Blackberries
11 Blueberry
12 Carrots
13 Raspberries
14 Broccoli
15 Cabbage
16 Red Wheat
17 Aloe Vera
18 Pepper
19 Yellow Melon
20 Rice
21 Corn
22 Pumpkins
23 Pineapples
24 Potatoes
25 Strawberry
26 Yellow Bell
27 Watermelons
28 Cotton
29 Soybeans
30 Squash
31 Artichokes
32 Eggplant
33 Wheat
Well it looks like the crop mastery harvesting requirement indeed does go up after you complete the 1st star. I’ve just completed 150 Pineapples and got my first star. Now I require to get 300 further Pineapple harvests to get my 2nd star… They’ve opened up a whole new door, simple, but people will want to get those stars… Very Clever Zynga
I’m now at level 36 after buying the villa. The villa takes 9 spaces/squares and cost 1,000,000 coin (10,000 XP). The seed crop “mastery” looks interesting. When should I expect to expand to a 22X22 grid? Do I need more neighbors?
I think haybale block glitch is no longer applicable in the game. when i tried 2 plant tomatoes using the glitch this morning, the game suddenly sync and when i tried 2 refresh the game, everything i plow, harvest, exps coins went back. i tried the glitch several times but the game keeps syncing all over and its getting serious even if i tried not to used the glitch, After several attempts, i was thinking maybe it was just my connection or zynga might be lagy in that moment, so i tried 2 look my farm using my brother’s account and all my grown tomatoes were still there, untouch and same as my money and exp. Feeling a bit disappointed, i log out my account and waited for several hous, about 3, and when i check my farm again, everything looks the same the time i first log in. Still not satisfied, i tried the glitch again, letting my character moved in the middle of 2 haybales, and when i try 2 put the last haybale behind my character, *BOOM* “Your game state is out of sync with the server, Please refresh the page to continue, Code g8″. Hell no, so i came up with the idea that the glitch is no longer active. So everythings back 2 normal when i harvest, plow, plant doing what zynga wanted, The not so BORING character movements in the field. Im really disappointed. Or is it just me experiencing this? I need help please!
If you’re having issues with trees blocking your crops, use trees with ’skinny’ trunks, like Cherry, Banana, and Date trees. You can toggle your mouse in between the trunks without having to move them and still reach your crops.
Lardy, Try using message posts instead of hay bales. That’s what I’ve always used, and still works for me.
Can anyone please tell me how many gifts am I allowed to send per day? Is this level – related or is it the same for all farmers?
Also, if I send one gift to lets say 10 people, does that count as one sent gift or 10 sent gfits?
Thanks
Haybale issue; I’ve actually blocked him in the middle (where they always start out) of the field. I think this morning there have been some particular sync issues. Don’t think its related to blocking your guy/gal in…
Also if you have issues with trees blocking your crops, use the vehicles for that. Generally you don’t have enough fuel for the whole harvest/plow/plant job, so I use them only in hard to reach areas as you can get them even if you have congested your edges with trees…
when will the new 24×24 land be coming out,
illo, one gift to 10 people is 10 gifts sent and the number of gifts you can send does go up as you go up in levels. Someone sent me 4 baby elephants today – so I assume you can gift the same person again and again.
Enough with the baby elephants!
Farmville has been doing my nut all day, out of sync, won’t load etc my grapes are all about to die llololol
you can buy abouth 1500XP for spend only 5000-6000 coins.
one Rest Tent in only 1000coins and i hate Elephants!
must buy abouth 20 Sest Tent and FarmVille server give you 1500XP and 15000coins
I don’t know if anybody here already know about this, but if you visit your neighbor and click on their picture when the loading farm pops out click on the picture again to visit the same farm the second time, so this means double the reward for helping your neighbor. I know its not much but it’s still something right?
What does the 3 stars under the vegetables and the little meter mean?
What does the sweet potato give u??
Seweet Potato has been made available in some kind of charity event for children in Haiti???
You need to spend 25 Farm Vill CASH in order to get a license which allows you to plant sweet potato, cost: 10, harvest 125 and XP+3 For a WEEK. There is also a special one time gift, what it is I don’t know.
Incidentally this crop will NEVER wither… What is your opinion on this? Most of us will have to actually spend real $$$, but its for a good cause…
add me on facebook and farmville send me a gift and il send u one back
mitch_vandenakker@hotmail.com
The gift for doing the Haiti sweet potatoes is a sweet seeds flag. Its for a good cause and since Ive stopped buying fuel and just box my farmer in, I figured it was worth the FV cash. Not to mention, its great experience if you are a plow/plant/delete fan… 3 experience points and the seeds only cost 10 coins.

Great GUIDE !!!! very helpfull to me thanks for making it these are thign i like to know you;ve been realy helpful wiht out u i would probably be level 2
Sweet potato costs 10 coins gives you 125 coins and 3 exp. 1 day to harvest.
tomluft: The calculations were already correct. The game doesn’t use 57 minute hours; there are still 60 minutes. All the fast crops ripen at their exact stated time (2hr, 4hr, 6hr, 10hr, 12hr, 16hr), but the 1 day crops ripen in 23 hours, the 2 day crops ripen in 46 hours, and so on.
What\’s up with the elephants everytime I move them from gift box to farm it says farm out of sync and refrshes, putting everything back into gift box and harvested crops back into the field.
@Walker
I was about to post that! :@!!!!
I need neighbors, join me:)))) valves78@mail.ru
Guys, Major Updates coming this weekend!
Check back Saturday And Sunday Around 6pm (GMT)
I just KNOW you will love them!
P.S.
If you still think things need to be added/New sections/More info please dont hesitate to post a comment!
Its all helpful. Im already making a list!
James: What a tease, come on spill the beans . . . what’s gonna be happening?
BEST MONEY AND EXP is completely useless
Hiya, could do with more neighbours to help me to send and receive gifts.
Contact me on quakerpete@live.com
hi, whats with the sweet potato should i donate 25 farm notes to use sweet potatos for 1 week is it really worth it?
Yeah, what are the updates, James?? Please tell me they’re allowing bigger farms, my plantation is getting quite cramped!
i believe planting the daily crops is the best…they give good profit and xp for the amount of work you have to do for them. harvested once a day, and peas even get you 3 xp. planting crops that take multiple days isnt good since you get much less profit AND xp…they’re terrible unless you cant get on for a period of time.
I mean BIG updates to the guide!
Again: “If you still think things need to be added/New sections/More info please dont hesitate to post a comment!
Its all helpful. Im already making a list!”
FUEL?
If I buy 1 extra fuel refill for 3 farm cash (I already have one fuel), does that extra fuel renew itself every few hours as a permanent addition or is it just a one-off where you have to keep paying for it?
One time refill.
Updates rolled. More to come! Check back Tomorrow!
Is Farmville available as a stand alone game? My kids enjoy the game but are too young for Facebook. Can one buy it for your PC?
Why did you in fastest levels change soybeans for eggplants?
In the part where you are explaining planting and deleting. You put eggplants and not soybeans but they both give you 2 xp. However, soybeans cost 10 coins less so the smartest thing would be to plant soybeans and delete them.
Can you tell me what the gold coin that pops up out of the field is all about?
ok, i think I\’ve found the best way to get xp points for the cheapest amount of coins. Just buy tan hay bails. I had about 500 on my farm and then went back and sold them all. selling each one is a pain and takes alot of time but it\’s worth it. They are 100 coins and 5 xp each
Do you get XP for expanding your farm?
oh, and other than leveling up, how else do you get farmville cash?
I have a 20 X 20 Farm i harvest daily
I can Harvest, Plow, Plant the whole farm in less than 5 minutes.
It should read..BUYING BUILDINGS GIVES YOU 1 PERCENT OF WHAT YOU PAID.. Not 10 percent… 1 percent of 100,000 is 1,000
BEST WAY TO GET XP PER GOLD is plowing ground, planting strawberries and deleting them. repeat process. this is a total of 25 gold (15 for plowing 10G for planting) for 2 xp, or 12.5G/xp. the plain hay bails are 95 gold per (after selling for 5G) and give 5xp, or 19G/xp. so hay bails are number two, HOWEVER, the time it takes for the strawberry option is much longer, making hay bails the more logical rout.
Actually, the best way to get XP per gold is plowing and planting SOYBEANS. Soybeans cost 15 and give you 2xp or 10G/xp(counting 15 and 1xp for plowing) versus strawberries which cost 10 but only give you 1xp or 12.5G/xp (counting 15 and 1xp for plowing). Hay bails are much simpler but will cost you almost double what you get with soybeans.
Hey guys, while buying the Haiti Sweet Potatoes there was a message that,
“All donors will receive a ONE WEEK LICENSE to plant sweet potatoes which never wither plus a one of a kind gift”..
Does this mean that we can plant sweet potatoes only for one week after buying it? which means we can plant sweet potatoes at the most 7 times in the whole game? does anybody have any idea about this?
i know how much to sell an olive tree is.. its only 60 coins to sell it
thank you so much for posting this – it’s been really helpful
@Steve vdW, Thanks for that bit of info. I’m climbing up the levels. At 36 now Yeh!
Yes it means that you can only plant it 7 days…
Best part is
- you get 3 XP for 10 coins
- it never withers
- and you did something good by giving charity
This guide Underestimates animals. Goats give more coins per hour than all the trees except olive and acai. Also, they take only 1 space like the trees
i need friends. mar fisher/facebook
Hey, how long after a crop is fully grown does it wither?
hey guys add me and ill send u gifts thanks. brent wilson bkwilson2@bsu.edu. send me a gift if you feel up to it =D please. <3
I need thailand flag,pls.
hey guyz…
well the stats regarding the best crops to plant are mentioned correctly on the page disclaiming some of the comments.i just rechecked on it.
The best 3 crops to plant to earn the highest Coins/hour.
1.Peas
2.Aspharagus
3.Grapes
And to gain quick XP by using the plow-seed-delete method, For guyz trading in money for Xp.
The best Crop to do with it is Soybeans as they cost 15 Coins and give 2 Xp + 1Xp plowing.
Total (30coins) = Plow+Seeding Soybeans (15coins+15coins)
Total Xp earned (3Xp) = 1xp + 2 Xp.
So, 1 XP is costing you 10 coins, Now thats the cheapest and the best way to earn XP fast in the game. All other methods are useless, including buying building or decorations (Calculate and check yourself).
WELL..the author to this page did seem to make blunt mistakes regarding this.
1. Peas rule!!! easy climbing in XP and best for money.
2. But of you want to gain experience one of the cheapest way is to buy Hay Bale and then sell or delete it.
I am now 35 experience thanks to those two tips.
@ Kuzzy… it is true that you can only harvest the Haiti sweet potatoes 7 times during your week license… but I didn’t buy them to harvest (actually, I did harvest once). You get 3 experience points for seeds that cost 10 coins to plant… I’ve been plowing/planting/deleting and leveling up quickly. This beats soybeans and hay bales by far… but you have to invest the FV cash to do it… glad it is going to a good cause!
Neighbours needed for Farmville – link up with me at quakerpete@live.com
I have one objection.
You said you can buy farmcash with ‘Real American Dollars’.
You can also buy them with Pounds, and no doubt Euros and other currencies too. Please do not be exclusive in this manner.
@Me, So what? We all know Americans think “They are the world”. I’m surprised most know other countries even exist…
RE: The guide, strawberries only yield 1XP. That means on a 12×12 plot of land, it will only give 144XP every 4 hours, not 288xp.
It is still one of the best ways to gain XP quite fast, if you’re able to farm 5-6 times a day (requiring a full 24 hours) you’ll get approx. 720XP depending on your dedication.
I’d prefer making money as well, so planting Peppers will yield 288XP for the day as well as a profit of 11000 coins (odd). Factoring in Gross Income – (Seeding+Working the Ground) = Profit
This is as it stand at level 12. I’m not sure about higher levels yet.
You accidentally wrote that buying items gives 10% of the cost in exp instead of 1%.
what do you have to do to be able to expand to 22/22 and 24/24
I don’t know if you mentioned:
if you have the time, the cheapest way to level up once you have lots (over 200,000) money is to buy haystacks. they are the best ratio around:
125 gold to 5 exp vs the ususal 500 gold to 5 exp
Putting the haystacks down is easy, deleting them is a pain in the butt. Just giving you a heads up, maybe you could include it in your guide.
When will the larger expansions be opened for purchase?
Olive trees sell for 60 coins
I think that the way you are calculating the “best crop” is wrong. Instead, you should take the selling price and divide it by the price you paid. For example, strawberries sell for 35 but cost 10. So 35/10 is 3.5, therefore you get 3.5 times more profit than you paid for. You can also think of it like 35-10 = 25, you make 25. This is why, if youre just starting out, I would recommend SOY BEANS. They sell for 63 and buy for 15. Thats 4.2 times the profit (you gain 48!) plus they grow in a day so you dont have to check that often.
The best is grapes for now..im lvl 25 and i get 185 $ profit and it days 1 day to grow.
I dont think the \”HELP NEIGHBOR\” glitch works anymore, have they adjusted it?
and by the way Vic is right, you actually lose money with planting peas but it is really good for your exp. =]
Couple mistakes on your Crop Table when compared to my spreadsheet.
Onions sell for 275 now, not 268.
How you got 1.3 for eggplant I have no clue. 48/46 (2×23 hour days.) = 1.043
Also you have Corn as 2.98 coins per hour. If you use 24 hour days you get 215/72 = 2.986 (Forgot to round up) BUT using 23 hour days you get 215/69 = 3.116
You didnt round up a lot of numbers like:
Pineapples is at 2.86 gold per hour, but you forgot to round up (2.869565217 GPH) and Soybeans and Squash are at 1.434 When their actual GPH is 1.434782609
You state that “A windmill is bought for 100,000 Coins and Given 1,000Exp. Or 10% of what you paid!” 1,000 is 1% of 100,000.
@Vic
That would be a terrible way to calculate profit because lets look at this example.
If you spend 1 coin on a seed, harvest it 1 day later for 10 coins you make 10x the profit.
But if you plant a crop for 100,000 coins and harvest it in 1 day for 150,000 coins you only made 1.5x profit. But with the second crop you made 50,000 coins in 1 day versus 9 gold in 1 day.
This example is rather extreme, but I think you get my picture.
As for your example with soybeans, you may make more in one planting than strawberries, but strawberries make you more gold per hour that they are planted. So you will make gold MUCH faster.
(Sorry for double post)
I have searched and searched and may have missed it but what are MASTERY POINTS? Do they add up for something special or count for anything and, if so, how do you check the balance???? Thanks!
@vic
you only should watch the sell/costs if you cant fill your entire farm. in that case soyabeans are verry good indeed. but as soon as you are able to fill your entire farm(mostly already after 3-4 days), the list above is correct because there is no possibility to put all your coins “in the ground” annymore then.
Thanks for all your criticisms
Will check all of those! Ty TheOrcHunter!
@vic
that’s horrible way to calculate, because strawberry’s give you that profit in 4 hours and soybeans in 1 day so by planting strawberry’s two times (8 hours) you are making more coins and XP than soybeans.
you guys should think a little more before posting dumb stuff.
If planting and deleting plots for XP, I suggest soybeans over eggplants. Same XP, 10 coins less =)
How do you get more plots of land to plant? I’m half way thru level 7 and have bought land. I thought more squares of land to plant would show up when I paid 20 farm cash for land. But it didn’t. When I plant seeds, there are leftovers that I have to waste. The first time I bought land, I thought nothing happened. So I did it again. Still no extra plots to plant. I still have the original 6 that I started with. How do I get more?
I figured it out
FINALLY!
Farming takes patience and builds character
I am now at level 38 (117K XP) and still unable to expand my farm to either 22X22 or 24X24. I guess we have to wait for Zynga to allow the expansion like they did for the 20X20 grid. I currently have 37 neighbors and working on my last 3 blue ribbons. Like other farmers, I have placed bales around my avatar (dead center of game field), allowing for faster processing. This is crucial when in the early evening hours, the system will unceremoniously crash (out of sync with server) so I know to process a block of 10 squares at a time. We can buy animal topiary (decoration) and Halloween items (trees-limited time). I hope the Mastery will not apply to trees or animals as I have already sold off most of my 300 chickens.
In addition to my earlier post (I am now at level 38..) I wish to point out that I am unable to gift ANYTHING. I’d try different times of the day, but nothing. I have noticed that it was becoming problematic each time I leveled up (after level 33). Does anyone know? I haven’t been able to gift an item in over a week.
Hi James,
The guide is a great help. Good job.
Had a query regarding the farmville cash vs coins. In case of an option to use FV cash or coins to buy stuff, should I usecash/coins (For e.g: I can buy a Big Family Farm for 50K coins or 20 FV cash)
Thanks…
Again, in case you missed my first post, could someone explain MASTERY POINTS to me. I don’t see them adding up anywhere and wonder what they can be used for and how to find them (the total). THANKS!
Hi, sorry but I noticed a small error….
“A windmill is bought for 100,000 Coins and Given 1,000Exp. Or 10% of what you paid! (An imaginary building cost 750,000 – You get 7,500Exp)”
It’s actually a return of 1% xp for every coin you spend….. except for hay bales which is up to 5%.
@janice
if you look at the market where you buy the crops there will be 3 stars and a little bar above them put your mouse over top and theres you mastery points. and all you get once you get all three stars is a little sign with that crop on it
in the new intro screen it looks like there is a user created farm that is leveled like part of the farm is higher than the other. how is that done?
Lemon trees are the best to buy for making money. They take up only once space while crops take up 16. EG you can plant 16 lemon trees to each 1 crop. 16 lemon trees produce 1200 coins each 5 days. That is 240 per day which equals 10.43 per farmville hour (much better than peas 7.652 Coins/Hour).
The only catch is that you won\’t start profit for 10 harvests (50 days).
thanks quincy…unfortunately, that does not do a lot for our leveling and money making huh? LOL! Have any of you added others from this site as your neighbor? I am considering doing so but am out of requests for now. thanks!
@Janice
I’ve advertised for neighbours on here and had a few replies, always looking for more though if you or anyone else is interested – quakerpete@live.com
I’m wondering if we’re going to need a whole heap of neighbours for 22×22 and 24×24. I send out gifts as often as possible
I can’t get to my farm and Zinga’s suggestions haven’t helped so far. Farm won’t download!
Any suggestions????
Flowers are coming soon !!
Lou…is that a problem with the adobe flash player?
“To get the most effective Exp Out of a plot you could leave a section of your farm plowed without seeding it and then plant eggplants (Best crop for what we are about to do) .Delete the Patches, And repeat, as many times as desired.”
Soybeans are better for this, cheaper and you’ll gain the same XP
how do i put benches and/or bailes on top of eachother?
thanks..
Having the same problem as mentioned by PETER.
I’m only level 18 and cannot send free gifts anymore…
Any ideas anyone ?
Thx !
Can’t agree with you on animals. If you do the numbers, most animals are more profitable than anything you can buy.
To plant a seed you use up 16 units of land (4×4). Thus, when you look at the most profitable seed, asparagus, you earn 0.477 coins per unit of land per hour. The most expensive tree, a lime earns you 0.625 coins/unit/hr over time. Using the same analysis, a brown cow makes 0.500, a rabbit 0.625, a pig 0.625, black sheep 0.778, ducks 0.938, goats 1.125, and swans 1.667.
Thus, if your aim is to utilize your land for the most profit possible, keep these high yielding animals.
Strawberries give you no profit. If you have 30 coins, you plant them, now you have 20 coins. You harvest them, now you have 55 coins. You plow the land and then have 40 coins. Then you plant it again, and you have 30 coins again.
Strawberries aren’t that good I guess…

sorry, there was a glitch
I came across this whilst browsing for farmville strategies. It allows you to easily click on anything as long as you’ve aligned it to a grid pattern…like when you FARM!
http://www.glsoft.co.uk/gridclicker/index.shtml
No more FVCash for fuel refills. Just align the clicker and away you go!
And NO, this is NOT CHEATING. This lets me do things easier.
I noticed on the best crops for money/hour that you have artichokes twice, one is artichoke and one is artichokes.
@cheeseface
the first time u had 30 coins, you had nothing planted on your farm….. the second time u had 30 coins, you had a strawberry patch planted…… what does that tell you…… figure it out…..
Hello, thank you for tips,if you can somehow make the maker of farmville to put on all flags from world, because we know that people around the world are playin this game,so it would be good to have flags on farms as well so they could have idea how much different pople are on line playing same game from different bacgrounds and cultures.
@adam and @marc
I think what you are seeing is an optical illusion. When you place fences or hay bales behind each other in a certain way it looks like the are stacked because the bottom one item matches up exactly with the top of another. Unless there is something else in the game I haven’t seen…
please explain the farmville day being 23 hours long?
does this mean that in farmville 8hrs is really 8.35hrs?
ooh..I wish I could find a pink cow to adopt
when does this game end..?
Hey James, still around. good for quick reference. You may want to copy and paste this guide elsewhere. All the comments make the page-load time forever. Post a linky to it or hide comments or something. Also… you answered Tom about his hourly things but to add to that this might deserve mention in the new version.
@ tomluft: think about the time you spend clicking too. if you plant 400 fields 1.5 times a day, how long will it take you compared to 1 time a day? I used to plant every 4 hours when I was unemployed and would be on for probably 2 hours clicking. Plus the fact that you’re assuming a non-routine schedule. Do you set your alarm to harvest, plow and replant your fields? when it comes around to the middle of the night? I sure like to sleep for a solid set time.
1 day crops are nice, because on a 400×400 field, i can harvest in shifts of 130 fields 3 times a day and and take advantage of my machinery much more effiectively, therefore using my time more efficiently AND have a set schedule, when i wake up, when i come home from work, and when i go to bed. if im going to be home on weekends i might do 4hr crops for the XP. since im sitting around with 2 million coins and nowhere to spend it til a few more levels.
Hi, I noticed that while Farmville is downloading the new picture / photos of farms.
One of them seems to have multiple terraces. I would like to do this. How is this done?
Thanks
THE “MULTIPLE TERRACES” PIC EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT IS JUST AN ILLUSION. ITS WHITE FENCES ALL PUT TOGETHER TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE ELEVATED LAND. EASY TO RECREATE
another way to get coins is havve a friend, (or somebody you know) send you a gift you already have then just sell it for a little extra bonus.
im level 29 with 43k experience but ive never had the opportunity to help a black sheep or ugly duckling or brown cow or anything, is there something i have to do to have that happen?
Grapes not divide by 24 hrS? why u jz divide by 23 hrs .. ?? 1daay suppose is 24hrs ??
Can you please add me as a neighbour Thanks
Beverlee Dwyer
@reslts
1 farmville day is 23 hours
Can someone tell me how to get the superberries?
Regarding the formula for coins per day (what I used) here it is:
(sell price – buy price-15) / days to harvest
Note, if days to harvest is less than 1, then use the fraction, for example 16 hours is .75, 12 hours is .5, 4 hours is .1666 etc.
For experience points per day it is experience per planting divided by days to harvest. So I’m not nuts about the multi-day payoffs as with 2 experience points per planting they work out to less than an experience point per day for 3 or 4 day crop. If you gave up on real life altogether you could get 6 experience per block per day with blueberries every 4 hours. Or plant and scrap, which makes the whole point moot, but I’m not into that.
Regarding animals, it is not a simple good v bad issue; cows are a waste of space with a very low pay-off for 24 hours, whereas bunnies pay be for a very small footprint.
Bunnies pay big that is.
The terraced look is a clever illusion done by how the items are arranged. They aren’t really at different levels.
So has anyone figured out what the slowly twisting flipped coin is while plowing, and if there’s a way to take advantage of it?
Also, I have received fewer paper bills then levels achieved, so it isn’t always bucks per level.
Does anyone know how to make farmville cash fast?
i gt only 2 XP vn plantin brocolli. .u hv mentiond 4. .
here is my situation, when im opening my farm, at the time it is loading the game, suddenly it will stop and never work again. i want to know what will i do? pls…tnx
:O
Can someone verify is brocolli is 2EXP?????
Thanks for all the comments guys o.O
You just surpassed 325,000 views! :O!:O!:O!
brocolli = 2xp cost
time = 2days
james i have mastered peas now every time i harvest peas every three squares i again two more xp
i think y should add tht to your guide idk if anyone else has mastered any other crop.. but i know after u have mastered ur crop u get a post tht says (mastery sign PREMIUM peas(XP!) grown here!)
i mastered peas as well but i get random amounts of xp when i harvest sometimes 6 but sometimes 0
nevermind i take that back lol
Princess, i had the same problem recently when i was trying to adopt a black sheep. I tried everything…cleaned my cache, reloaded application, and finally I fixed it by downloading google chrome and downloading again adobe flash player, and now i use google chrome as my main browser and can access my farm with no problem!. It is faster and doesn’t give me problems like internet explorer. I had IE7. Some people has fixed their problem by upgrading to IE8, but i rather stay with google chrome for now.
Hope that helps.
guys! have any of you received some random gift requests that says are from farmville but don’t have the farmville logo?
it says something like…This Farmville made me think of you. I hope you like it! . People is sending seeders, trucks, ponds, olive trees and cash gifts through that fake farmville application. I have not accepted thinking it could be some bug
Shutterbug ribbon no longer exists. no clue why.
add me iam at lvl 37 for gifts:D my email is unbreakable-ice@hotmail.com
On the loading screens they now have pictures of farms, i have noticed one had different levels to their farm ( not as in leveling up) like one part was raised and they have i think a bunch of white fences on top of one another and a cottage on the upper land… is this really possiable or did they just make it a pretty picture? If it is then how do i do it?
I really don’t like that they now have a teardrop shape over the animals that are ready to be collected on. They are now very easy to miss. Was so much better with the glow around the animal! I could think of a lot of other things they should have fixed instead!
James, under Fastest Level above, helping 20 neighbours should read 100 exp not 400. Also would it be possible to delete some of the comments that are repetitive because there are so many people that do not read and keep asking the same thing.
RIBBONS?
Is it worth sticking it out to collect all four ribbons for Knock On Wood and Zoologist or would I be better off just planting crops? It seems you need to harvest thousands of trees or collect thousands from animals – just wondered what the final ribbon was worth?
PS – Farm neighbours still needed for quakerpete@live.com (gifts sent daily)
You say trees take up alot of room and aren\’t cost effective. I disagree. Lets use the acai in this example, a tree takes up 1/16th the room as a normal plot of crops, while a single acai tree itself yields only 3.291 coins per hour the fact that u can plant 16 of them in a single plot square means that ur profit to area margin is now 52.666 coins/hr coupled w/ the fact that u have no replanting costs, i\’d say its a more viable option than ur leading on to. granted an acai is expensive in its own right do to the Farmcash crap, but u can see similar results w/ other trees applying this area to area comparison. Even the cherry tree gives 6 coins/hr.
the full break down is as follows for each seeded plot (16/plot):
Acai – 432 farmcash – 2 Days – 2528 coins – 52.666 coins/hr
Cherry – 3600 coins – 5Exp– 2 Days – 288 coins – 6 coins/hr
Apple – 5200 coins – 5Exp – 3 Days – 448 coins – 6.222 coins /hr
Orange –6800 coins – 5Exp – 4 Days – 640 coins – 6.666 coins/hr
Plum – 5600 coins – 5Exp – 3 Days – 480 profit – 6.666 coins/hr
Peach – 8000 coins – 5Exp – 4 Days – 752 coins – 7.833 coins/hr
Lemon – 7600 coins – 5Exp – 3 Days – 656 coins – 9.111 coins/hr
Lime – 12000 coins – 7Exp – 5 Days – 1200 coins – 10 coins/hr
Fig – Only Gift – Gifted – 3 Days – 528 coins – 7.333 coins/hr
Avocado – Only Gift – Gifted -3 Days – 592 coins – 8.222 coins/hr
Apricot – Only Gift – Gifted -4 Days – 896 coins – 9.333 coins/hr
Grapefruit – Only Gift – Gifted -3 Days – 800 coins – 11.111 coins/hr
Banana – Only Gift – Gifted – 3 Days – 896 coins – 12.444 coins/hr
Passion Fruit – Only Gift – Gifted – 5 Days – 1488 coins – 10.333 coins/hr
Pomegranate – Only Gift – Gifted – 5 Days – 1728 coins – 12 coins/hr
Date – Only Gift – Gifted – 3 Days – 640 coins – 8.888 coins/hr
Olive – Only Gift – Gifted – 4 Days – 1792 coins – 14.933 coins/hr
as you can see using the same /hr basis you can see that trees are generally better coins/hr than seeds which makes sense giving the rarity or cost of each to plant. would this be an expensive endevor? yes, but it\’d pay for itself given the time.
Hi folks.
A question about Haiti Sweet Potato. When the offer expires ? when is the last day we could buy this seed ?
I read the offer ends Oct. 15, is that true ?
@ bob boberson
you’re right but only if they are gift because buying the trees it will take like 50 days for profit.
and the same with animals especially goat which gives more money than any tree except olive and acai and also takes only 1 space
You suggest deleting patch after planting eggplant. Don’y you mean harvesting the eggplant then plowing.
Also I have noticed that deleting a patch and then plowing grass does not appear to add any benefit. So why not harvest and just plow the same patch rather than deleting it? Both plowing grass and plowing a previously harvested patch use the same coins and XP and deleting a patch just adds a extra step.
Aslo I have tried to find out what the coin tossing after plowing means or does- do you know? It appears only when you plow existing harvested patches… Any benefit?
Finally, a glitch – I harvest and celebration reward has expired – yet I am online- what is that about?
Thank you for your page -it is great!
Elizabeth: What he’s referring to is Plowing a square (1XP), planting something (1 or 2XP), and deleting the patch. “Then repeating. You can do this 1,000 times in the amount of time it takes to wait for the crop to grow. And you can’t plow a plot more than once, that’s why you have to delete it.
Bobberson: What you say makes sense, but I’ve experienced some difficulty clicking on items behind trees. Have you placed 16 trees in close vicinity? It seems like you wouldn’t be able to get to the ones in the back…
@ Elizabeth and everyone else who keeps asking about it.
The coin that pops up gives you 100 coins thats all it does. nothing fantastic.
How do I ferilize neighbors crops to get the crop whisperer award???
how do i ertilize neighbors crops
bob boberson that is incorrect. a plowed area takes up only 9 squares not 16 so you can only plant 9 trees.
whisper is random, only thing that apears to be different from lost animals is that you can choose who to give it to. gives extra XP, no sense wasting so give wisely.
Thank you for your guide. It is really helpful and makes sense of it all. I went up to Level 6 in a matter of my first day!
FARMVILLE PROBLEMS?
Anyone got problems with Farmville being slow?
Issues seem particularly bad when my mouse cursor has one of the harvesting / ploughing tools activated or trying to gather from the animals. Clicking to harvest a crop is a nightmare at present – I can usually get at least half of the whole farm ahead whilst harvesting, but now I can’t get ahead at all. So doing three sets of clicks (even with the tractor ploughing) is taking ages.
If I try to speed things up, the page starts jumping as well, even though I’m only trying to click on each field.
Using Safari on a Mac – had no such problems before. Any thoughts anyone?
@Nick, isn’t that levelling up effect cool. It is an effect. Look closely, its not really raised… I loved it also, its very clever.
Anyone know how to fertilise yet?
Latest updates about Farmville Crop Whisperer, Farmville has a new feature called the Farmville Fertilize in which you can put fertilizer on the crop of your neighbors and the crop that has been fertilized will become much larger than an ordinary crop.
How does it work? Simple!
Randomly selected users will receive 5 Bags of Fertilizer each day. Those players can then use the fertilizer on crops on their neighbors’ farms.
Once a crop has been fertilized, it will appear bigger than normal crops and sparkle.
But don’t let them wither, fertilized crops reward experience points when harvested!
Good guide. Could you mention what the equipment does, whether it’s worth it?
Equipment lets you plow/harvest/seed 4 plots at once. WORTH IT. The gas refills are NOT worth it.
Does anyone know anything about the new ribbon I saw appear today? “Crop Whisperer” – it says to “Fertilize neighboring crops” but I can’t figure how I go about doing that. I tried “helping” my neighbors, but that’s the same old it always was, anyone have any idea?
Ive been trying to figure out what “crop whisperer” is as well.
apparently random selected players will receive 5 bags of fertilizer a day. They can then fertilize their neighbors crops to make them grow bigger and will not only be worth more but will also give exp when harvested
It seems like every strategy on Farmville is based on how much time you are willing to spend (duh, almost every game has that important aspect of your playing
) Anyhow, I dont know if you have heard of Farmhelper, if anyone haven´t mentioned it in all this comments, it helps you to seed and harvest when you are away or busy. This, I think, breaks the calculation of time need to spent etc. etc. (if you choose to use Farmhelper)
So you may have reconsider some of the facts.
You may seem it as cheat, but you ARE actually reading a guide in how to improve your farming.
It would be interesting if anyone could give any thoughts about this
Btw, thx for a very good guide James!
thnx…though it leaves me a riddle in my mind……….amf…!!
I would like to use this game without Facebook for my gifted students to learn about economy….is there any way to purchase just the game?
I noticed a new achievement… “the crop whisperer” How exactly does that work? How do I fertilize my neighbors crops?

About split level farms…
The farm isn’t split, it is actually an optical illusion! Look at the way the fences are set around the hedges!
Paul, about the sweet potatoes if you buy them you can use them for 7 days down to the hour. When your 7 days is up you can buy them again. I like to use this because it only cost 10 coins per seed and you get a profit of 125 and the XP gained is 3 and it is harvested in 1 day and your crop will never wether.
For anyone that would like to have another neighber please email me at april01mkconsultant@yahoo.com and I will be your neighber.
Happy farming!
I don’t understand how to maximize the helping neighbor tip. If I’m at the farmer I’m helping; what do I click on before I click on “accept”?

About crop whisperer…
They will soon be releasing five packs of fertalizer randomly (kinda like brown cows and ugly ducks) to famers in which they can fertalize there nieghbors crops! If a nieghbor fertalizes your crop it looks bigger than other crops and sparkles! Crop whisperer is about how many crops you fertalize!
thanks for the site.. theres’ so much to read.. i know my answer is here already but want to ask anyway.. I have lots of time.. i can sit here all day and play farmville.. i want to level up really fast to get the villa. i am at level 29. is strawberry still the best for the level up? or blackberries
thanks

Guys: The new Facebook Game – “Cafe World”
Check my Guide. Hopefully it will be as big as this one!
http://gameolosophy.com/games/online/the-unofficial-cafe-world-guide/
how do they determine which player to give fertilizer to?? I find that rather unfair as I may never get a chance to fertilize anyone’s crops!!!
how to fretilize a neighbour’s crop..?
yeah i dont get it
Thanks for great guide! I think they haven’t implemented the fertilizer feature yet, as there should be some sort of information available about it.
Few tips for the game:
- For the Not spoiled, gifted -ribbon, don’t use any gifts that you get from neighbors, etc. You need to have certain amount of unique gifts to gain this ribbon. Sometimes it’s better even save the adopted animals in your gift box for this ribbon (since they go to gift box when you adopt them). After you get the blue ribbon, feel free to use the gifts.
- If you need small amount of experience fast, buy yellow hay bales. These give you 5 exp for 100 gold and you get one decoration for the Pack rat ribbon. They also take very little room.
Have fun farming! If you need more neighbors for the Local celebrity ribbon, you can add me, my email is isomittari at gmail dot com
one thing i have noticed that makes farmin easier is to but 4 fence peices to make a small pen and put your farmer in there and then plow the firlds and plant them, the process is much faster
does it cost a lot to remove fields?
My farmville has a problem
Whenever I go into the “Tree” section in the market, I can see and purchase the first eight kinds of trees, but there is no arrow going to the right, so i cannot see the higher level trees.
I was wondering if you know how to solve?
Thanks
PS Nice guide ^^
instead of buying a tractor or seeder, just download gridclicker,it saves you a lot of clicks..say for instance you have a 16×16 farm..you just enter the number of rows and columns and click on send clicks,,it literally does all the clicking for you..its a very nice app..just thought I would help out..
@ D. Piché
there are only 8 kind of trees that you are able to buy.
the rest you recieve as gifts
im looking for neighbours who also play active, post your name here, thx =)
How can i make two different ground levels?
I notice the grid clicker works for a pc only. Anything similar that is available for the macintosh platform?
How do you fertilize someone’s crop? Five of my plots are twinkling, and someone said that she fertilized me. How?
why my box in unique box, seems to be had a problem.. i am on my way to blue ribbon, and its almost 2 weeks for the 21 more gifts, i recieve some, and it say that i need more 9, but when i log in back to 21.. how come it be like that.. is this a kind of a cheat
I need neighbors please. My email is samanthaculver@gmail.com
Jackielyn,
they need to be unique gifts, if you have a look you will have 2 or 3 of the same gifts waiting…
once you help on somebody’s farm you get 5 bags of fertilizer which you can use only on that person’s farm that you helped (at least this is the way it is for me today) so i have just earned my yellow ribbon for crop whisperer…
I’ve read a few different posts that people are having trouble with clicking on each plot to be very slow, does anyone have a solution for this or know why it happens? I am now at level 32 and just started having this problem regularly. Someone posted they had a bunch of chickens all lined up, is it possible it’s due to having a ton of animals? I have been gradually adding animals and trees and I do have a lot. Does it have to do with putting them all together in lines? I use Internet Explorer 8. I’m close to quiting Farmville becasue it’s taking way too much time. Any advice is appreciated!
i could sure use a couple neighbors. my email is rsharp208@yahoo.com. i will deff send u gifts.

Hey everyone..Does anybody know what this mystery box is all about?you can only by it with FV Cash and its 15 of it..bit expensive I’ll say…anyway just wanted to know..enjoy farming ppl
I saw one “Mystery Gift” on someone’s farm.. it was a striped rest tent. Cute, but not worth the 15 FV $$ to me..
I need more neighbors too, pls add me aocoffee@hotmail.com
Someone has fertilized my crops. Is there any way of telling who did it?
need to know about crop whisperer.. pls help me to earn this ribbon… how it works..?
hello Gravelgert, how did u come to know someone fertilized? and how to do it? any idea?
You’re looking for an active FarmVille neighbour, who sends you gifts every day?

I purchased a mystery box and a fire pit was inside, not worth at all spending 15 Farm cash for it
yeah mystery box is a waste, i got the fire pit too and i already sold it, 400 coins + 80 xp for 15 cash = NOT WORTH IT…
Does anyone know if it is possible to rotate the screen view? Ive just started playing and cant seem to find a option for this.
Ok I am getting aggrevate now! It says you can get 1 FV Cash a level but it DOES NOT say how to get the Cash. WIll someone please explain to me how to get the cash?
Everytime you level up you get 1 FV Cash like a little well done present.
You cannot rotate the screen, yes it is annoying.
The mystery boxes are proving really disappointing all over the place at the moment, so my advice: dont buy one.
I signed on today and 5 of my crops were sparkling which indicates they were fertilised. Apparently FarmVille decides when you recieve these bags of fertilizer..and they usually appear where the fuel can usually goes when you help out on somebodys farm. For example to scare away the crows or gophers or whatever, then in the bottom left of the screen there is a x5 next to a little white bag. However after helping about 40 people it still didnt some up for me.
HELLO !!!
I need more neighbors
Please, add me
intibamba@hotmail.com
THANKSSS !!!!!!!!!!!
I knew someone fertilized my crops because 5 plots were twinkling. To aaron…you said you received the fertilizer when you helped a neighbor. Did you have to sit on that farm for a little extra time or did it pop up right away? I usually help and then escape quickly to the next farm and wondered if I need to slow down.
a small portion of my plants had little stars jumping around them, any one kno what they are, or what they do. also, how do you kno when an item is unique?? thank you.
that means someone fertilized your plants and you will get exp when you harvest them!
Olive Trees sell for 60 coins each, FYI. It’s listed as Unknown above.
what is CROP WHISPERER????? how it is works??? can anyone teach me??? and unlock the MIGHTY PLANTATION.im getting bored waiting for it……
does anyone know from what level can you fertilize??My friend is at level 29 and he can’t fertilize and I’m on 32 and I can….
Thanks
I am level 20 and fertilized random neighbors as I was helping them out today. Seems that not every neighbor you help gets fertilized.
Yes, gas seems to be a problem – although, the harvester does help on large amount of crops.
needa good neighbor?
http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#/profile.php?id=1649230303&ref=profile
flowers and dairy farm came in at midnight…
on the fertilizer thing, once i help my neighbor i get the fertilizer right away, im not sure why i can do it but most other people can\’t. I do get 4 coins and 1 xp for every square I fertilize so it ends up being very worth it
I see so many new things – flowers, ghost chilli… can you add these to your list…
yes!!! please add all the new items to your list! we all greatly appreciate your time and efforts put into strategizing this amazingly addictive game! love the dairy farm concept and can’t wait for them to make more! disappointed – i’ve helped about 50 neighbors and NEVER seen fertilizer
I shall keep trying!
happy farming, all! <3
Daffodils – cost 60, harvest for 135, 2 days, 1.3043 coin/hour
Red Tulips – cost 75, harvest for 159, 2 days, 1.5 coins/hour
Pink Roses – cost 120, harvest for 254, 2 days, 2.587 coins/hour
Lavender – cost 160, harvest for 384, 2 days, 4.544 coins/hour
Ghost Chili – cost 80, harvest for 136, 6 hours, 6.833 coins/hour
Lilies – cost 195, harvest for 369, 1 day, 6.9130 coins/hour
(coins/hour factors in plowing, plus uses a 23 hour day for the 1+ day crops just like the numbers above)
Also, all the new crops are 2xp except ghost chilis which are 1
how do u fertilize ur neighbors crops?
new achievements for planting flowers too.
I’ve received the celebration rewards from the published announcements from my neighbors pages however I never receive the coins. For example I received the message you have been rewarded 50 coins but it was never added to my tally. Why would this happen? It has happened to me know 3 times.
Small correction:
You still have the “Shutterbug” award listed. It no longer exists.
hey i am on 37th level i have a villa n evry bldg….i need a 24×24 farm when wil it get unlocked….?
To Pam about not receiving reward coins: I thought so too but they are added immediately. Check your total from when you leave the site to when you log on again to collect a bonus – you will see the correct increase.
Lilies take 1 day give you 2xp, cost 195 to buy and harvest for 369
This does not include any replanting costs
when i mastered peas, nothing happened. I didnt get a sign or anything. why is this
your farm sucks, I have like 8 million and a half dollars level 40, SUCK ON THAT
If you have a tractor, a seeder and a harvester, does the full refuelling (after 8 hours) occur for all 3 of them or for just150 plots with which you can either plow or harvest or seed
Eric, what’s it like to be a 40 year old virgin?
Normally Id dissaprove…But, LOL! Your Got owned (:
Flowers and Ghost Chilli added yesturday!
ENJOY!
how to you furtlize other people?
neighbour offer search leneshzn@gmail.com
will send gifts almost daily…..
will the cats be released from the pumpkins after Halloween and allowed to roam on the farm? and when will be black sheep be released from the balloons?
It seems that if your neighbor has crops/flowers growing, then you can fertilize them. If all of their crops are ready to harvest/there’s only plowed land, then you can’t.
Remember me, James?
I need friends to expand. Will send gifts. Thanks
http://www.facebook.com/SmokingTom?ref=name
For the fertilizer it’s really easy to tell you have it right away. When you go onto a friend’s farm, it appears in the lower left hand corner and actually looks like a jar of mayo in my opinion. I was able to use it five times on about 11 of my friend’s farms.
I am on level 35 now just within a month. Wanted to buy a villa. So now just waiting for some coins to flow in. Let me give some tips to people.
1. Peas are the best.
2. If you want to increase your XP, without spending too much on buildings and trees and stuff. Simply start buying hay bales
Buy Hay Bales, and then delete/sell them. For mathematicians here, let me give you some stats.
FOR any building and/or tree and/or animal etcetera
1 XP = 1000 coins (e.g. Windmill comes for 100,000 and gives 1000 XP)
But for Hay Bales
1 XP = 100 coins. Which means, you can earn a 1000 XP by just spending 20,000 !
Five times more efficient!
(for those of you who are wondering why the hell am I waiting for coins, well, I spent them in order to gain XP. And now I don’t need XP, I need coins)
Are you supposed to get Farmville Dollars for each new ribbon/awards that you get, or just certain ones?
Hi guys,
Anybody needs a neighbour, get2tanweer@gmail.com
just started playing farmville 2 days ago and im highly addicted to it.i just had one question, do trees no longer give XP? i swear last night i bought some trees and they gave me 5 XP. now in the market menu they just have the price, harvest time, and resale value.
also looking for good neighbors add me!
robshaw782@gmail.com
im a good fertilizer and once i have some requests left over from invites, im gonna start sending more gifts
Hello,
I have created an excel spreadsheet that calculates the potential profit by each harvesting time period.
All you have to do is enter the number of plots you want to plant and the spreadsheet will calculate the rest.
If you are interested in the spreadsheet, send me an email:

Happy Farming!
I went to get extra cash by filling out a survey for 17 cash and it has not showed up
need neighbours.
http://www.facebook.com/firdavs.tursunov
send private message indicating farmville neighbouring
Those surveys are a scam. I filled out at least ten of them, and it’s an endless loop of offers to decline. Even if you manage to reach the end page, you do not receive any farm cash, IME.
to farm (plough and harvest and seed) just go in a corner and block yourself off with a white fence. now it automatically does everything without u having to walk there, u just hav to click on each patch. This is very fast =D
I need some active Farmville neighbors who send gifts daily.
http://www.facebook.com/gabby.steinbrenner?ref=name
What is the bouncing gold coin that appears occasionally when I’m plowing?
One of my neighbors has a turtle, any idea on how to get one?
Turtles are the same as pink and brown cows, ugly ducklings etc. They wander onto someone’s farm who can “adopt” them. It posts on facebook and then you can go and give him a home. I have two already and have only been playing about 1-2 weeks, so just keep an eye out!
Nevermind! Turtles now wander onto your farms like cows and ugly ducks.
@Yasir Bin Riaz: yes haybales are good for XP = 5XP for 100 coins. But deleting them is very time consuming and a pain, because you have to delete and confirm deletion for every haybale…
If you’ve got the time, its definitely worth doing. I personally had 3/4th of my land for harvesting, in order to purchase haybales and get to level 35 fast. I’m the same as you, now I need coins in order to start having the farm I want.
The XP machine is now converting to be a pretty farm within the next month…
Check out the new Ribbon for fertilizing crops…

i need neighbors daleearnhardt1fan2000@yahoo.com
Hi, I was just wondering what it means when coins are released during the harvesting of crops?? Do they become Farmcash?? Or XP?? And is there any other way of gaining Farmcash other than having to purchase it??
need neighbours please… agrawal_malica@yahoo.co.in
How to use animals? Is it good to have a diary farm?
I LOVE the dairy farm, it reducing the time spent harvesting each individual cow, so you can spend more time doing other things. I would say it is definitely worth it!
@ Raff: You collect from your animals to earn coins, and eventually to collect your ribbon. The dairy farm is worth it, collecting from 20 cows with a single click, awesome!!! plus the dairy farm would take up less space versus having 20 cows.
@ Ana: You earn coins when you harvest. These coins can then be used to purchase more crops or other buildings/decorations.
The only ways to get Farmville Bucks is either through purchase or you gain 1 Farmville Buck for every level.
hi just to let u know if u want neighbours just go on farville fan site u can get all the neighbours u need they are crying out for neighbours i completed my blue ribbion for neighbiours in 2 days by going on there hope this helps
also the coins that appear when plowing are coming from the coin fountain some say they r worth 50 coins each others have said they have had 100 coin each anyway it is a big help it all adds up
I have been noticeing a thing that pops up on your screen every once in a while that says someting abou a cod g7 or something like that! Why does it do that?
Olive trees sell for 60 coins, I noticed this info was missing in your guide. Thanks for a very useful site!
ur all fags obsessed with farmville
No life jesus no life
Great guide!
Yes, the way to get the most XP for the money is plow, plant soybeans, delete, and repeat but for me it is faster to buy hay bales and sell them. I timed it and I bought and sold 34 bales in 130 seconds for 170 XP. That\’s 1.3 XP / second. I didn\’t time the soybeans but I know it takes me a lot longer. I know… I have too much free time if I\’m timing this!
To me it is important how long it takes to do this since it takes a lot of time (in addition to harvesting.)
Also, I saw mentioned somewhere else on this guide that you should keep about $40,000 in savings (depends upon level) in order to replant your fields in case you have a problem and all of your crops wither. This is assuming you have a 20 x 20 farm and all of it is devoted to crops. If you have a problem and end up with no money it will take a long time to get back to $40,000.
And as you get gifts be sure to keep one of each in the gift box until you satisfy all of the ribbons for unique gifts. Gifts don\’t count if they have been used.
It may be because my computer is slow but when I harvest crops my computer used to freeze often and increase the time required to click on all of the squares. I sold five animals and now have only three and now it does not freeze at all.
There’s an error in the Seed Guide
you need 15 coins to make the ground available for seeding, THEN you buy the crop
So the gain per hour is lower
Nvm that
good guide!
What about the new system of mastery of a particular seed? Anyone master something yet and can say what happens concretely other than just getting a one time XP award if anythign at all happens besides that? In other words is it worth it to try to get the mastery to the possible detriment of some money and some xp in order that maybe the reward will be worth it in the end… Thx for your help.
Lillies= Buy for 195 sell for 369 2xp. 6.913c/h
Sometimes while my farmer is plowing, something that resembles a cheese block pops up out of the ground and kind of bounces around. Can anyone tell me what it is and how to catch it if I need to.
The easy leveling section…
Please include the sweet potato…
Goes like this…
“If you happen to donate FVcash for access to the Sweet Potatoes in the ‘Sweet Seeds For Haiti’, you could use them for the plow, plant, delete technique, as they yield 3 exp per plant and they only cost 10 gold” or something like that.. haha…
i would like to know if someone can explain the acai tree to me!!
i have the money to buy it but… is it really worth it!
and i was wondering if i buy one how many xp do i gain and if i wanna buy one more do i need another 37 or 38 farmcash?!
Land Expansions and More Usable Buildings coming to Farville Soon!
@T rag Read some of the comments thats the most popular question. it is a coin that pops up and it gives you 100 coins and thats all you dont need to catch it or anything… and James i think you should put that question on you FAQ because it has been ask so many times.
About sweet potatoes you forget that you have to replow after deleting it which costs 15 coins as total it comes 25 coins for 4 xp which is not that bad. So for 100 coins you get 16 xp and for 100000 you get 16000xp which is not bad at all:)
But even with a mouse repeater software it would take some time…
I bought Haiti Sweet Potato today. But i received the bad surprise it was retired from the seeds !!!
Damn, i calculated 7 days from today to November 5th… but the game totally owned me. LOL.
lol it came back up tho lol paul
Sup james, i just wanted some advice about this certain issue: i have a pretty nice farm, level 30 and some cool buildings and shit… but i see you just have crops and a few animals and you probbably gain WAY much more xp per day than I do cause you have much more crops… i was just wondering if i should sell all my stuff and fill my 20×20 land with only plowed land to gain more xp…?? another thing is: do YOU gain xp with buildings? if yes do you just buy them and then sell them right away just 4 the xp?
I really like the game and i am addicted to it as well. i have written an article – enhance your business management skills by playing FarmVille. Would love to have your views on the same. You can read it here http://www.gigathoughts.com/useful_links/play-farmville-on-facebook-to-enhance-your-business-management-skills.html
hey add me

olive tree every day
mr.ryn@hotmail.com
Quick Question…
When the game loads I often see farms with varying elevations. How is this accomplished? It would be nice to have my buildings up on a “hill” in the back.
THanks!
To make different elevations, when you originally plow, you have to line a row of squares so that it is not centered with the row before it. This gives an illusion of depth. Do this for a block of squares within squares that are lined up and it will appear to be a lower or higher level.
Happy Halloween ON Farmville Everyone!
Elevation is the illusion. There is no elevation in this game. You can place the decorations in such a way that it looks like it is elevated. That is what people do:)))
Urazyjazzy
Re Elevation, it is about lining up the squares when you plow grass, not where you place decorations. It is an optical illusion, but very effective to show depth. The squares can be MOVED with your mouse so that they are not lined up square with each other. One line has to be indented in from the next. Each indent gives it further elevation up (or down – that is the illusion). Practice it on another program or even draw it and you’ll see what I mean. The illusion is further assisted by lining up different coloured crops, trees or decorations.
Re FV
You get 1 FV for each level completed.
Frank, thanks for they hay bale tip! Thanks to you I was able to complete a level just now.
I’ve only been playing Farmville for about a week, but I’ve noticed quite a bit and I can answer quite a few frequently asked ? on here. The coins that pop out when you harvest give you 100 coins per one that pops up. You get 1 Farmville dollar for every level. If you set haybails in the very center where you pop up when you open farmville then when your neighbors fertilize your crops they can do it faster because you can’t move. It’s a glitch that makes you harvest faster. You can also do this when your harvesting also and you really don’t need a harvester. It’s a waste of money. Your best yields are berries. lower levels soybeans, pumpkins, and peppers are good for xp. To see exactly how to make the elevation work, go to you tube and type in farmville elevation tutorial. To fertilize go to your neighbors and help them clean up. Once that’s done the fertilizer bag will pop up in the bottom left. You get 5. It won’t pop up if there is nothing to fertilize although sometimes it will and the crops are too far along to be fertilized in which case you can’t use them at that point. I completely agree with the fact that hay bails kick a** for xp. Their definitely worth it. Make a cool design with them, get your xp leave it for a while, and then sell them whenever you feel like it. I don’t recommend buying any animals, but keep the ones you get as gifts or that you adopt. I decided to spend $20.00 and get some Farmville Cash. I leveled 4 times today, and haven’t picked my crops yet. I bought the Haunted House which gave me 2000 xp and I still have 75 Farmville dollars left that I’m saving. Then I bought hay bails and spelled out GO COLTS. I recommend trying something like that if your a sports fan. Hope this helps!
Lol this game is easy if you know how to do simple math… XD
can you make the sections for crop prices in table format?
it is really hard to read.
James, Good site. I would suggest changing the entries so that the last posts are at the top of the page. Currently it takes forever to scroll down to the last post when viewing this site on an iPhone.
And unfortunately I receive 0 coins and 0 XP for all the scrolling!
I`m level 41!!!!!!!!!!hahahahaha
How can i claim my pending ribbons? I worked hard for that so i hope that you can give me some consideration in return. Hope u can give me the money & xp for the particular ribbon specified below:
Local Celebrity – Blue Ribbon
Knock On Wood – Red Ribbon
Not Spoiled, Gifted – White Ribbon
Crop Wispherer – White Ribbon
Please Farmville / Zynga Management… do something about it!
Thank you!
Yukiko
Yukiko, I believe Zynga sends you your ribbons complete with 24 carat gold display case once you have earned all of the ribbons. It comes with a check for 1 Billion dollars (spoken while holding finger up to corner of bottom lip).
How do I get more FV’s ?
How many FV’s do you want? James, the scrolling is killing me. I should be busy spending all my waking hours farming but now it seems as though scrolling on your site has completely taken over my life.
I’m in level 43 and bored now.. need something more exciting at Farmville to get things going..
There’s no way I’m scrolling all the way down here without leaving a message. Farmville Rules! Scrolling to the bottom of this site on an iPhone sucks.
When are the larger plots (22×22) and (24×24) coming along, my farm is crowded and i need to expand
What real good is the Acacia Tree?
what is that wierd floating bread coin potatothing that randomly appears?
add me as a neighbor
bart_rockstar@yahoo.com
i’m only low level, just started yesterday! thanks!:D
Tip: If any of you guys notice your browser hanging or acting slow or the message “out of virtual memory” – try switching to Mozilla/Firefox from IE. All activities like harvesting; ploughing and seeding are noticeably much faster. I am saving real good minutes by switching over. Try it out!
Query: Under My Neighbours, somehow the vertical list of neighbours has disappeared and i do not see the list. This view was very helpful to see requests sent / if any of my friends play FV. Any help on getting the list back?
Why do people keep asking the same questions over and over. Read what’s above and it will answer most of your questions.
hya!
I’m a newbie… pls, add my as a friend and farmville neighbour T_T
tibessano@citromail.hu
is it true that one of the lost animals is a white horse?
Please help me.
Somehow I lost my neighbor list on Farmville. When I click on the neighbor tab to get to my neighbors that are on Farmville, the list is not there.
How do I get the list back. My husband can get to his with his email, but I cannot get to mine AT ALL, no matter whose email I use.
PLEASE HELP. THANKS.
Farmville Extreme Manager …see

Can this be for real ?
Can we be BANNED for using this kind of program ?
Anyone any ideas ?
thx
Daniel it’s because people are lazy.
Here’s a new topic for discussion. I am trying to add neighbors and I continually get a message along the lines of “you are out of requests”. Is this tied in to how many gifts you give in a day?
And if any FV creators check this site out, or if James hangs out at the creators office looking for information, then I’d like to know, why can’t we rotate buildings?
Hey, first of all, thanks james for this awesome guide!
I’m sorry if you already answered this question, but, there are just sooooo many comments, and i made it about 1/3 of the way through them, and I was fed upp xD maybe another day. but, anyways, do buildings like fruitstands etc.. do anything yet?? do they have ANY bonus expect for a nice xp gain? thanks.
peas, sugar cane, onions, asparagus and all berries are the best if u can harvest them all ASAP
@albert and jane don\’t worry about the neighbor list – it will pop back up after awhile. i had that happen to me today and just went \”oh well\” – it returned. must have been a hiccup!
Your rates for grapes is incorrect.
this was very helpful, thank you so much and keep up the good work!
alien stuff out now…. Green cow lol
@ Jacob. the rate for grapes is correct 270 profit – 85 purchase price – 15 for plowing. 270-85-15=170/23 hours for harvesting =7.39coin/h
my opinion is that:
somepeople think that gives more money is better
well,that is wrong
for e.g. grapes and watermelons
(the calculation is by 1 seed of each)
watermelon:348 coins/4 days
grapes:270 coins/1 day
u might think watermelon. is better because more money..wrong!
270*4=1080
so by the time u have finished the watermelon,u will already have 1080 coins from grapes, which compared to watermelons,is much better
besides the profit of watermelon is 348-130=218-15 plowing=203. useless
everyday just harevest and plant again
When are we able to purchase land at 22×22 or 24×24?
why there is no israeli fleg?
FARMVILLE IS AMAZING
Noone likes Israel lol.
I wonder if someone can calcylate something for me. Is it the most profitable thing iff you want XP! to plant peas, and the use the money to buy hay bayles or use the soybean trick, or is it better to plant black berries since you get 2 xp every 4 hour, if you have the time that is, and use the money here or buy hay bayles or use the soybean trick.
Lets look at 10 plots for 23-24 hours.
If you plant peas you will earn 176*10= 1760 coins och get: 3 xp for planting and 1 for plowing. 3+1=4 4*10=40 xp
Now you can buy hay bales or use the soybean trick with you 1760 coins.
1760/100= 18 (17,6) hay bales
18*5xp each= 90 xp (or we can do this 1760/20=88 xp)
Soybeans: 1760/30=59(58,6..)
59*3=177xp (or we can just do 1760/10=176 xp.
So if you plant peas on 10 plots and buy hay bales you get 90+40=130 xp. If you use the soybean trick you will get 176+40=216 xp.
Blackberries: 1 xp or plowing and 1 xp for planting. 1+1=2
24 hours/4 hours= 6 6*2=12 xp per plot
12xp*10 plots=120 xp
You earn 27 coins per each plot. 27*10= 270 coins
270*6=1620 coins
Buy hay bales: 1620/20=81 xp
Soybean trick: 1620/10=162
81+120=201 xp if you buy hay bales and 162+120=282 xp if you plant soybeans that you later delete.
So:
You can ger 282-216=66 more xp if you plant blackberris every 4 hour istead of planting peas.
If you have a 20*20 farm you can earn 66*40 (20*20=400 400/10=40) =2640 more xp if you plant blackberries.
Now i just spent 20 minutes to anwser my own question with the knowledge that I myself still wouldn´t plant blackberries.
Can someone confirm my statement? I have not included plant time or time to buy hay bales or palnt soybeans, that you later delete.
Peas – 190 – 1 Days – 3Exp – 381 – 176 Coins – 7.652 Coins/Hour
Blackberries – 75 Coins – 4 Hours – 1Exp – 117 – 27 Coins – 6.75 Coins/Hour
Awesome guide dude…it has helped me a lot in reaching level 34…
the only thing confusing me is the “profit per patch” for ONIONS…it would be great if u could recheck that…
all in all…the best farmville guide on the net…!!…
im new to farmville and am looking for neighbors to expand my farm i would be grateful if you could help out
my email is smartguy_5288@hotmail.com
great guide! I started on saturday afternoon and now on Thursday morning I am on level 20! I consider that pretty good since I was a bit confused in the beginning and did not space properly and planted artichokes (took forever!)
Great game for math and strategy. Thanks!
How can I remove so I don´t send a message to my friends when I help them with their farm? I´m tired of closing all those small notifications.
hi, you are wrong about tomatoes. tomatoes are better than grapes.
@ katy…
hey..the thing is that tomatoes take 8 hours to harvest….
and grapes…even though it is written 1 day…takes only 23 hours cause that is how long one day is on farmville…
so while calculating coins/hour for grapes…we cant take it 24 hours…
grapes give 7.39 coins per hour for 23 hours…and tomatoes give 7.25 coins for 8 hours…grapes are better….
Love this site and I so appreciate all the work you have done. Your seed guide is perfect – as what a person actually will “make” in coins and XP will dependant on when they can harvest. If you can’t harvest a 4 hour crop once it is ready for harvest, your return starts to decrease right away – so l love that you list the plants and their return in the manner that you have. Up to the individual what is going to be the best crop for them to plant depending on when their schedule will allow them to harvest and replant, harvest…..
Great work – thank you!
Following guides like this make it boring and predictable. Just my opinion. And putting everything in rows is so boring and ugly. Takes the fun out of it. I am so tired of seeing farms that are either row after row of the same thing (rowing the trees is the ugliest), and the big jumbled farms that are just a huge mess of chaos are the worst. Aesthetics should play a big part. Why? Because it’s a game! It’s for FUN. It’s not real life. You won’t end up living on the street starving if you spend more time making a cool looking farm instead of being efficient.
I saw super berries mentioned waaay early in the comments, but then nothing for the last few weeks. Do they still exist?
To WallTornPaper—I totally agree with you, but unfortunately it’s that competitive spirit in all of us.
By the way, I need a few more FarmVille neighbors. Anyone interested?
My email is Travlingman33@yahoo.com
Farmville is not real life? You mean I can leave my cows unmilked and they won’t explode?
I think James has left the building. And this scrolling still sucks.
I have been trying to delete my neighbors that are anonymous. I have no clue who they are but I see their level and coin amounts. How do I delete them?
Hi
Please update the guide with the new seeds on farmville – the cranberries and the two new types of squash.
Thanks.
Jithin
New Seeds!!
Cranberries –
cost: 55 coins
harvest: 98 coins
time: 10 hours
level needed: 10
xp gained: 1
—-
Pattypan Squash –
cost: 65 coins
harvest: 160 coins
time: 16 hours
level needed: 16
xp gained: 1
—-
Acorn Squash –
cost: 175 coins
harvest: 258 coins
time: 10 hours
level needed: 36
xp gained: 1
—-
This is all BS from Farmville.
New Seeds are worthless for those that have access to all, because in the 10 Hour frame, Green Tea is still better and in the 16H frame Asparagus and even Coffee are better than the new Pattypan Squash.
Do you have information about new crop Acorn Squash at 36 level??
A good way to speed up your plowing and planting is by blocking the standard spot you land in when you load the game, do this by placing 8 hay bales around the edges. You can still plow and plant but your character won’t have to run around the whole place to make it to the spot.
Hey, first of all, thanks james for this awesome guide! I’m sorry if you already answered this question, but, there are just sooooo many comments, that i havnt made my way through them all, maybe another day. but, anyways, do buildings like fruitstands etc.. do anything yet?? do they have ANY bonus expect for a nice xp gain? thanks.
@ Erik – hey dude, up until now only dairy farm do something, they are used to stock cows and collect milk in one click, pretty useful, all the other biulding up until now are just for decoration, yet it’s been announced that they are working on more buildings like the diary farm, maybe a distiller for all those grapes we harvest
I don\’t know if someone already said this but you have to take account the 15 coins needed to plow a field when considering coins an hour because they vary depending on the harvest time length…in addition the plowing gives you 1 xp so raspberries actually give you 12 xp a day not 0 as ur guide suggests
It is not very intelligent to refer to hourly profit. Because the less hours a plant takes to mature, the more often you will have to plow the land and it becomes less profitable!
So what I did is to refer to daily profit. This considers multiple plowing!
I’ve found a cheat/hack/glitch of sorts. Someone might have already written this, I don’t know.
1 – Buy a dairy farm and 20 cows
2 – Put 1 cow in the dairy farm, and the rest of the cows outside it
3 – Wait one day. The cows and the dairy farm will be ready to milk
4 – Milk all of the cows outside the dairy farm (6*19 = 114 coins)
5 – Place all the milked cows in the dairy farm. The dairy farm will still be at 100%. Harvest from the dairy farm (6*20 = 120 coins)
6 – Remove 19 cows from the dairy farm, repeat.
This allows for you to harvest 19 cows twice a day instead of once, practically doubling profit from cows.
New seeds, cranberries and one other I think.
Just to let you know
I bought a Garden Shed. I don’t know anyone else who has got one. Does anyone know how it works?
@Pepe, thank you. Yea, i know about dairy farms, but i kinda read here and there hints that like, for example, a fruit stand would give you better profits on some berries or something.
@Pat, sweet! thats great, thanks for sharing
There is another glitch type thing you can do, and it invovles helping your neighbors.. the glitch is mentioned in this guide, but, in this guide, it says u can only do it twice, but you can help your neighbor as many times as you want. IF you go to the assisting part of this guide, and look at the second paragraph, you can repeat that process over and over and get hundreds of xp and thousands of coins form helping ONE person. Pretty tedious, and only do it while im still getin 20coins and 5xp.
Gigi the shed is there to put all the birdbaths and gazing balls outside of. It is your junk shed. You can sleep in there if you want.
Susan that’s the best question all week. I’ve tried and they stay. If anyone knows please advise.
Great Guide, Thanks.
How do I delete Neighbors that are blank? I tried to cancel the request but that does not work.
@ erik the glitch about helping your neighbours was fixed a while ago. although it will still show you getting the xp and coins once you refresh the page they will all go away.
Has anyone figured out the crop mastery levels yet? I am curious how many crops you have to harvest to get to the highest level of each crop. Also, how do you get the signs, is it when you hit the highest crop mastery level?
what do you get for mastering a crop? and how much exp is required to advance 1 mastery lvl. currently im workin on cotton mastery…
Ok – New Seeds added Guys!
ENJOY!
Not a Tool Shed – a Garden Shed. After I harvest a certain number of flowers (not sure how much) I can publish that people can get flower bouquets from me. When I put the cursor over the garden shed it says 0/30 perfect bunches – I don’t know what that means. I have published one set of flower bouquets but the number for ‘perfect bunches’ didn’t change. FV said that I could get bouquets for myself but I don’t know how to do that. Any help?
Fot the idiot who said about how it doesnt do plowing cost scroll up and look on thr right hand side it shows it dumb ass the maker already thought of that and calculated it in
Where do u buy the garden sheds from? or do u just automatically get em when u master a flowers thing?
I am not sure how I got it as no one else that I know has it. I just went on FV one morning and it said that garden sheds were added along with the science fiction stuff. I ‘accepted’ and it was placed before the dairy farm in the Market (Cost – 30,000 coins). As soon as I bought it, it was locked and said Limit 1. I was kind of drowsy (just woke up) so I figured I would click on it another time to figure out how to do all the things but it doesn’t allow that. I know that I had recently gotten the white ribbon for flower power but so have some of my friends and they don’t have it so I don’t know what triggers it. I was hoping somebody here might have it.
You can also get the Garden Shed for FV30.
wow niice list. strawberries ftw
I am working on my mastery level 3 for blueberries. This requires 12000, yes twelve thousand harvests. I had heard that mastering a crop brings extra XP and I will confirm this in a week or so after about 9000 more harvests. It better be worth it because I could be working on peas right now.
hey guys, i also got the garden shed this morning accidentaly. i think harvesting a full grown FERTELIZED flower does access to that secret building. or, harvesting a 4 plots of full grown FERTILIZED flower by the used of a tractor coz thats what i did before i got the message of having the boquet of flower on my screen. i harvested a sun flower lvl 2. so i dont think its about the flower power ribbon that access to that thing or a harvesting a mastered flower crop that enabled me to buy the garden shed. after i bought the garden shed, i continued harvesting the rest of the sunflowers, aside from the profit that pops up upon harvesting, it also had +1 perfect bunch randomly. and the +1 perfect bunch should be added to your shed coz i think thats what is made of, to fill it with 30 perfect bunch. but when i check my garden shed, its still 0/30 after having a perfect bunch of about 8. so i guess its still bug or doesnt do anything right now or they were still fixing it. but happily, i really got lucky coz when i check my neighbors farm, none of them had the green shed. hahaha! im still w8ng for more updates on that new building. you should also try your luck guys!
James is it simply not possible for latest posts to be at the top of the page? This is turning into a monster dude.
Who here has more gazing balls and birdbaths then they really need? At least the birdbaths can be sold for 100 coins.
Any experts have any comments about deleting those blank neighbors as Susan asked?
Any news on the farm expansions 22by 22 or 24 by 24
hello to everybody
Question …When u begin with this game how big is the ground u get ? Which dimension it is?
Thx
Gia, learn to count T_T
Noemro….maybe but i am new in this game and i just asked ,is such a bad thing to do? I am not familiar with everything yet dont be so mean.
What is the gold coin that will float down when harvesting for. I don\’t see an increase in points or cash. The other day 4 coins floated down.
Gia, either 10×10 or 12×12. It’s been so long I don’t remember! Plow a clean even row on one side of your farm and let us know.
Karen, I suggest you take an hour that you would normally spend on FarmVille and use it to read all posts put on this site. In the posts is the answer to your question AND answers to many other questions. It is worth the time.
James, ?

I want to know how to make your farm look like it’s on 2 levels.. For example, putting fences up and then hedges to make it look like it’s on a hill or something. That would be cool! Thank so much.
Seems that James left the building…
Thx a lot Old MacDonald
I think There should be a section about strategy for earning ribbons. They add a very important dimension to the game and earning them at certain points give really helpful boosts to experience and coinage that speed up production on the farm.
oh god got bored of sending the same gift items again and again and again……..:(
Lol Guys.
A Ribbons Guide? :O
Monster much?
But i was thinking an Exp/Hour Guide…All in favour say “i”
Also – about the length, ill post the new updates at the top then move them into the updates next week
Also updates the FAQ to include that PESKY gold coin (which does ACTUALLY say +100 gold)
I am at level 35. Just purchased a villa. I did it by plow, plant, harvest method of the best crop at the level I was at and took into account when I could harvest crops in a timely manner
why do my animals suddenly move – it’s driving me insane – I know to click on them and then click on stay works but sometimes I’ve got pigs going one way, horses going another way and the damn ducks never stay in one place…HELP!!!!
I am on level 22, and i reached till here in 7 days of game play, thanks to the Guide.
i want to know-
What is the best thing to do with your FV’s
Please I desperately need expansion for my farm when will it come or shall i give up
DAIRY FARM CHEAT – I HARVESTED OVER 1,000 COWS IN ONE DAY
I own two dairy farms and about 70 cows. I started by emptying my dairy farms completely. I then waited until I had at least one cow ready for harvest. I then put that cow into my empty dairy farm. The dairy farm now registers as 1/20 and 100% ready to harvest. I then put 19 more cows into the dairy farm (preferably cows with a low %). Once the dairy farm is full (20/20), I harvest. Tah-dah! 20 cows harvested when only one cow was technically ready to being with.
Since I have a second dairy farm, I then take another ready cow, put it in my empty dairy farm (and again it registers as a 100% dairy farm), and move every cow from my first dairy farm into my second dairy farm (you’ll have one cow extra that I remove into my fields). Once again, 20 cows ready for harvest.
I continue this cow rotation for my 50 cows that have been left in the pastures. I do it throughout the day as each cow reaches 100% and can be placed in the dairy farm. By the end of the day, my 20 cows that I leave in the dairy farms are harvested about 50 times a piece. That’s about 1,000 cow harvests per day.
Of course, this process is tedious, but boy is that animal ribbon more realisitic now! And I’m getting a hefty sum of harvesting money when its all said and done too.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GI4ApoNQ77Y
lvl 40 biatchhh
For me I use soybeans in a 14 by 14 farm, not as many cash as you can expect but gives you 6k minus the sowing and seeding which cost you 5940 coins. Its cheap and gives you 500 XP per day. Good thing to remember when your in school.
James, I am trying to make levels with fences & hedges but can’t get them to stack. I have seen this done and would like your advice. Also, have you seen the pic of the farm with the creator hole in it? Very cool. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
what does it mean unique crops? What kind of “unique crops” I have to harvest to reach the blue ribbon, I’ve need of only one crops to reach it.
How do I obtain FV money without purchasing it? Does it come up per EXP points earned or by achievement levels?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you
Kind regards
Claire
This is a great guide! Lots of great suggestions!
However, something about where it is stated in the assist section that you can help your neighbor multiple times in a day by clicking on the neighbor multiple times before it loads what you are to help them with: I discovered this myself a while back and did it through all of my neighbors, and at the end it was out of synch with the server, and the next time I loaded Farmville it didn\’t recognize any of the extra times I clicked on it. It only recognized what was equal to helping one person per day.
Just wanted to let you know it appears to help, but it doesn\’t recognize it when you come back. Thanks!
Olive tree selling price is 60 coins.
i have a question. i was doing flowers yesturday and it said that i can make bunches out of them how do i do that. it said something about a garden shed? is that a tool shed? because that was the closest i could get to.
will i get extra xp if i delete the mastery sign???
I keep getting xp +1 mastery. What is mastery, how am I earning it and what does it do for me?
I am in acute distress! I FINALLY got 20 FV bucks yesterday, purchased the 16X16 land expansion, received a note that I now had more space etc., FV bucks went to zero, but I DID NOT GET ANY LAND! It will take forever to get back to 20.
Obviously this is a glitch but is there anything I can do about it???
@Anne- you shouldn’t have bought the farm expansion using your FV cash. If you had a total of 10 neighbors, you could have unlocked the 16×16 buying it with 10,000 coins instead of 20 FV. Keep on adding neighbors so that you can unlock all farm expansions (all the way to 20×20) buying it using just coins.
I have noticed that the only way to increase FV is by leveling up, nothing else. 1 FV per level increase. So try to buy things only using coins, try to use FV wisely because it’s hard to earn it.
@Rhea- mastery is when you have planted a particular seed the required number of times. Like if you have planted and harvested eggplants 5000 times, you will earn 1 mastery star. You will see this star underneath the seed thumbnail when viewing the market. Though I don’t know how many times of planting required for each seed. I didn’t count.
Yep, that floating coin gives you additional 100 coins only (not FV or XP). I keep thinking though if you get that floating coin randomly (like if its a lottery type of thing if you suddenly plowed a lucky patch and hit a jackpot) or that you get that floating coin if you have plowed a certain number of patches.

I have neighbor requests that are pending but the person is blank, I cannot cancel the request nor can I delete it any suggestions?
22×22 expansion is here, hooray!
I am needing farmvile Nieghbors … if anyone would like to have a new nieghbor please get in touch with me!!!
Tonit3516@aol.com
Or
Toni Goodman (on facebook)
22×22 expansion costs 250k, lol… who wants to bet that 24×24 will be at least 300k? or something ridiculous like 500k?
Also, how many nieghbours did it take to get 22×22? I was able to buy it right when it came out and I have 22 friends.
And will 24×24 need 25 nieghbours? (I need 3 more then…)
I just thought of a neat idea for farmville, what if there was a limited time only crop that when you harvest a certain number of (like 100 or 200) you get farm cash. It could be as high as 400 harvested of said crop and I would still take the time to do it!
The program has been terribly buggy today! I had a TON of gifts; trees, chicken coops, etc., and “all my bits were lost” and got no gifts. The gift offers were gone, too.
Be careful accepting multiple gifts until the connection issues are fixed!
I did a stupid thing today. When I logged on to my farm this morning I got the announcement that the chicken coop was available for 5000 coins so I bought it right away. I then discovered you can send it or receive it as a gift. I guess the only consolation is that I got 50 XP points. The coops sell for 370 coins so I guess if I can get enough people to send them to me as gifts I can come out even. Anyway, just be aware.
@ Chuck: rlly? dude i just refreshed the page and still got the gifts, something might have gone wrong on your case.
hey I was making numbers and found a couple interesting things: 1) while diary farms occupy an area of 5×6 coops only need an area of 3×5, which means you can have 2 coops instead of one diary farm 2) two full coops produce a daily income of 360, the same income produced by one diary farm full of pink or alien cows, and it being a fact that alien cows are gone and getting 20 pink cows in serious business, it think it’s nicer to fill those to coops, tell me what you think about it, tnx!
Since today the Haiti Sweet Corn is available. The rights to seed it for 7 days cost 25 FarmCash.
This seed is far better than the Sweet Potato.
Lets compare…
Sweet Potato:
Cost: 10 (+15 plowing)
Sell: 125
Harvest time: 1 day (23 hours)
Experience: 3
Profit: ( 125 – ( 10 + 15 ) ) / 23 = 4.347 per hour by plow
Sweet Corn:
Cost: 10 (+15 plowing)
Sell: 125
Harvest time: 6 hours
Experience: 3
Profit: ( 125 – ( 10 + 15 ) ) / 6 = 16.667 per hour by plow
To compare… the best seed available, peas, gives you 7.652 per hour by plow.
The Sweet Corn it’s a true beast
you forgot the maple tree
I finished expanding my farm and spent about an hour redoing it this AM. About 5 hours later I checked in on it and all the work I have done is gone….. This is not the first time that this has happened, and I have checked with a few of my neighbors and the same thing has happened to them. What is happening? Am I logging off wrong or ?
i think you should make a new guide, that “best crops for money/hour” isn’t very effective. for example, you have a 12×12 plot (which i do) and i plant 144 aloe vera, then i would recieve 12,240. note, i am not counting the cost to re-soil the ground, im going by how much money i recieve once ive harvested all the crops. now, aloe vera is ranked much higher than cotton,so lets see what happens when i plant cotton on that 12×12 plot. i would get 29,808. and yet, aloe vera is higher than cotton.
the reason for that is because it is per hour. and aloe vera is harvested in 6 hours, whereas cotton is harvested in 3 days. so those hours are stretched farther over those 3 days, rather than only 6 hours.
so you see, that guide is rather deceptive, in that if you’re seeking to get the most money for what space you have, and how much money you get per plot, then it is wildly inaccurate. and to be honest, you got harvest the cash per hour, its usually 4 hours, 6 hours, 1 day, 3 days, etc. so you cant collect the money every hour, so why make a guide like that? why not make a chart or something, like the name of the seed, and how much money you receive per plot when you harvest, multiplied by how many plots you have. that would be much more accurate in terms of “most money”.
because in the end, i dont check up on my crops every hour, i determine what time it will be when its time to harvest them, then i go and harvest them. im not going to check up on my cotton every hour to look at my 1.695 im getting every hour.
whether its cotton, corn, potatoes, or whatever, you arent going to get your money until you harvest them, so dont make a money chart thats not based upon that. i believe my purposed idea would be much more effective in determining the most money possible for what space is available, and how much money you get per plot.
what do you guy think? do you support the new idea?
Luke, that is terrible. The whole point of breaking it down by the hour is so you can compare all crops against each other. If I plant Rice (14×14) crop, I profit (Revenue – Planting and Plowing) 7,056 after 12 hours. If I plant Ghost Chili (14×14) I get 8,036 after 6 hours, which means i make more than double by planting Ghost Chili vs Rice in the same amount of time.
Chicken coops: I also bought one, unfortunately, and then received three as gifts. But the three turned into chickens, as you are (at present) only allowed one coop per farm. Unlike other things.
So also, the calculation that coops are better than dairyfarms is not valid, since you can’t do it.
i see your point jim, (im going to use simple numbers to keep the math simple)but lets suppose you have a crop that you harvest in 2 hours (plant A)and in a 12×12 plot, after harvesting all 144 of those crops, you get 10 coins each. that would mean you get 1,440 coins. now, thats in two hours, lets suppose i have a crop that is harvested in 10 hours(plant B), and when i harvest it on that same 12×12, and i harvest all 144, and i get 20 coins, then i get 2880. now, according to the method above, plant A would be worth more, and heres why. because i can only harvest plant B once every 10 hours, whereas plant A every 2 hours. thats significantly less time to harvest, which means if i had 2 fields, of the same size, on one was plant A, the other plant B, i could harvest plant A 5 times before i harvest plant B the first time. so in order for the chart above to be accurate, that means that for all the crops above it on the list, you have to first pick one to compare to, like coins received and time to harvest, then you have to harvest the crop that takes less time to harvest, as many times as possible before the other crop that takes longer would in 1 harvest, its a little difficult to try and explain, it basically means you would have to get on FV every time and plant/harvest as many times as possible, which most people simply cannot do because of time constraints.
I have 210 plots of land and it’s enough for me. I think the game’s more fun to play when the farm looks pretty and it’s decorated, I don’t get why people
I bought Haiti Sweet Corn, It’s really great. You can plant it overnight, because it doesn’t wither, and you get 3XP and 100 coins in just 6 hours.
My favourite crops are Grapes and Sunflowers.
yo nesecito tener muchos vecinos si alguien tambien nesecita uno que me agregue por fis este es mi correo yakyjorgen@hotmail.com
I just made level 3 mastery in tomatos, and got the sign.
Will I now make more XP if I keep planting tomatoes?
(just planted something besides tomatoes for the first time in like forever…)
Wee, now I know what crops are best to plant.
Do you think Grapes, Pink Roses and Watermelons are okay? I chose these three because I only log in once a day every weekday, usually an hour before my class starts. Since I’m still a high school student (I’m just 14 years old, lol) I have pretty tight schedule.
So what do you guys think? Are Grapes, Pink Roses and Watermelons okay on my farm? (To see my FarmVille farm, add me in my Facebook: jessica_013@ymail.com and add me as a neighbor) I’m currently Level 23.
Any of people here heard of the new FarmVille secrets guide book that is available over the net?
You wrote in your Q&A section: ” I found an Error in your Guide. What do i Do?”
I am here to tell you that is an error in its own right: There should be no capital E at the start of error, there should be no capital on the D of do and there should be a capital on the I.
Can you write about the regular maple tree and about the baby turkey please?
well i have few unnamed friend requests in My Neighbour section of farmville
is it normal or some error coz i am not able to deny those request
or do anything else
do u have any idea about this
Wish they would bring this game to the iPhone!
@Shaun, I think it’s available for the iPhone…. Cause Facebook Mobile has a Touch Site Version for touch screen phones. Just make sure your phone browser supports the game. My friend told me a certain downloadable phone browser that supports the touch screen capability and can play FarmVille, but I forgot what it is. Let me try to find it…
@Kalle, the baby Turkey is worth 7 FarmVille cash. I don’t know if it grows up into a Wild Turkey which is adoptable as a lost animal… I got three from my friends. Still don’t know what I can harvest from them… I’ll post it as soon as it reaches the 100% counter.
hey, thnks for the tips.
but i was wandering about the farmville cash?
you said it gains as you level up but i have a friend whose level is below mine but have more farmville cash
how can that be?
oh and no, she didnt buy them with real dollars
Okay – I made it to the bottom of the page! Whew! I hope I didn’t miss my question somewhere along the line. If so,then forgive me. Here goes – I have several friends that are convinced that if you leave an animal you adopt in your gift box, then other people can adopt it, also. Other friends swear that it is just random – some animals can be adopted by multiple players and some cannot. Any idea what the real story is?
pameladeville:
this is true.
._.
There is no way im reading all of that!
Expect a nice surprise update soon
Any Questions email my Personal Triond accy!
Neighbours needed, will gift daily (well i’ll try my best)

Most efficient way to get experience if you have tons of cash is to buy tons of hay bales 5 exp for 100 coins. So for example if you have 360,000 coins and a 20×20 farm such as I do. You can buy fill every spot with hay bales 9 fit in each plowed area. So that’s 9×20x20= 3600 hay bales and 3600 x 5 = 18000 experience. Which is a good way to jump in front of all your friends in levels. This has a 5% efficiency compared to the mere 1% you get out of buildings.
@Brandon Carroll
Actually the soybean plow, plant, delete and repeat method is more efficient. Hay is 5 per 100 coins with a 5 coin sale value = 5XP per 95 coins. Soybeans cost 15 to plow, 15 to plant for a total cost of 30 coins. But you get one XP for plowing and 2XP for planting yielding 3XP per 30 coins or 9XP per 90 coins. As you can see 9 per 90 is better than 5 per 95. Hope this helps.
The hay bale method is efficient but costly. I prefer the soybean method.
True adopted animals can be adopted multiple times if all adopters leave in gift box.
Still working on blueberries mastery 3. Half way there. Gonna take a break from the berries for a week while I level up using sweet corn.
Luke, slow and steady usually wins the race but not on Farmville. Leveling up fast is all about how much time you devote to harvesting.
Okay I’m sick of 22×22. When do we get 24×24?
Level 34 Gamer
Old MacDonald, looks like you know what are you talking about.
Better than Soybean was the Haiti Potato and now the Sweet Corn (of course, if you have 25 FarmCash to get the rigth to plant it by 7 days).
I think you’re a serius player. I’d like to add you as a neighbor.
Im looking for neighbors on facebook.
Dylen Bearoadh Boswell or morningstorym@msn.com
I want my farm to look nice rather than covering the whole area with boring looking squares so ive shaped the ploughed squares into a christmas tree shape and decorated it with maple leaves , ive used coloured hay bales to make presents under the tree and when my fields are fertilized it looks like twinkling christmas lights! Im getting more of a kick outta my xmas scene than my farming . I posted a picture of it on my FB and im gettin loadsa compliments !!!!
My grandson has the ability to buy a flower work shop and I do not. I am at a higher level than he is. Anybody else have this problem? Or have any idea what to do? Appreciate any help.
James, any word on making your site easier to get through? The scrolling is killing me! Keep up the good work.
Hey it’s me again.
I’ve got a question… I logged in Facebook just today and I found out that I received a couple of gift requests for Farmville. When I clicked the ACCEPT button (I swear it was) it said: You have ignored a request from __________.
Is there a way to remedy that???
Kaede: There was a message from Farmville that they were aware of the problem and were working on it.
The way I see it, there are two potential issues with your seed guide:
1) Profit might be better calculated as a percentage of cost rather than in coins. It doesn’t really make sense to calculate it in coins, and this is why: you might make more coins planting a certain seed, but you also have to pay more to plant them. For example (and this is simplistic in that it doesn’t take into account the harvest time, etc.), you’ll make 134 coins off of one patch of artichokes (sell 204 – cost 70), and only 48 coins off of one patch of soybeans (sell 63- cost 15). Therefore, it seems that artichokes are better than soybeans because you make more coins. HOWEVER, you also paid more coins to plant them- 70 instead of 15. If you calculate the PERCENTAGE yield (i.e., your profit RELATIVE to how much money you put in), then you’ll see that in fact soybeans are better. Soybeans give you a 320% return on your investment, wheareas artichokes only give you a 191% return (soybeans: 48 profit/15 cost = 3.2 ; artichokes 134 profit/70 cost = 1.91). This means that compared to how much it costs to plant them, soybeans will return a profit of more than 3 times their cost, but artichokes will return a profit of less than 2 times their cost. Of course, in coins, you’ll obviously have to plant more soybeans to make the same amount of money (you’ll have to plant a higher quantity). However, your return will be better.
2) The cost that you use in your calculation should also reflect the cost of plowing. Therefore, 15 coins should be added to the cost of each crop. This would change the returns that I calculated above. However, soybeans would still be a better return: 220% compared to 170 percent for artichokes after taking the plowing cost into account.
Again, this is simplistic because it doesn’t take the harvest time into account, but I did it this way to illustrate the principle. If you think you’re getting the best deal because your crops give you the highest amount of coins, you’re wrong, because you have to put in an inproportiately large investment in order to achieve that profit.
hey i have seen people havin 2 3 manors in their gift box
der is a deault in the game
plz let me knw hz dat possible
Farmer…Do you understand the concept of profit??? Revenue – Cost. Your profit % calculation is worthless. If you want to make the most money in this game, you want the plant with the largest profit, not profit percentage. Also, the seed guide does take into account plow costs. Read much? Next time put some thought into your criticism.
Olive Trees sell for 60 coins
I’m a level 29…need neighbors!! I send gifts as much as i can–will even send things u want/need. Thanks!
Trumpetdmb2002@gmail.com
Oh and great guide too by the way!
Add me please to neighbors.
Farmer, Your concept of profit is not going to ever make you the most money. Profit is all made by the ending amount after taking all of the expenses. It’s not %.
For instance:
We will reflect Soybeans again Peas. But put it in terms that you may understand.
You wake up this morning and give me $15+$15 processing fee, I tell you that it takes a day to make money, but I will give you back 63 so your gain is $33.
Or give me $190+$15 processing fee, I tell you that it takes a day to make money but I will give you back 381 so your gain is $176.
Would you rather make $33? or $176? If we went by your math. Soybeans give a higher %, but are definitely not the best profit.
This is by far one of the best resources I have found for Farmville, thank you!
My plan is to one day be able to make a farm like these ones:
http://whatthefacebook.com/funny/farmville-champion
LOL those would be funny!
btw: Olive-Trees are sold for 60 Coins
Olive – Only Gift – Gifted – 4 Days – 112 coins – Unknown
I see where Farmer is coming from. If you have limited money, eg. 300 coins, then you are better off planting 10 plots of soybeans (profit $33 x 10 = $330) than 1 plot of peas ($176 x 1 = $176).
But when you have lots of money you’re better off planting the high profit per plot seeds.
Does anyone know how to delete neighbors that are pending? I’ve tried the cancel request and that does not work. HELP!!
I also am needing some more neighbors, please add me: Michelle Knight Young
whats gain per day in trees?
red tulips cost 75, sell for 159 and they grow in 1 day equals to 3.5 coins per hour…
I see what you are saying Anne, But that still wouldnt be the best profit. You would be better off making 1 peas, then using the rest on the next best profit from the list above.you would make Only 1 peas if you had that little money. You would make 1 peas then say 4-5 soybeans or whatever you can afford. Still making you better profit over soybeans. It’s extremely far fetched to say someone only has $300 though.
I am having problems, Farmville does not want to load and tells me to upgrade my Flash Player I have done but it still will not load and the cache is empty! Any suggestions?
Hey I had a cool idea and im not sure if anyone has thought of it yet. Would it be cool if the game makers could turn the tool shed in to a place to put all of our decorations that we are not currently using. Because I bought some of the special items and im kind of running out of room to farm stuff. Has anybody else had an idea like this?
How much time after my plants are fully grown and ready to harvest do I have before they start rotting?
However long it took you to get the plant is however long you have to harvest them once they have finished growing.
I bought 400 hay bales! I spent 40000 but they gave me 2000 xp! than I sold them.
this is the fastest way to make ex quikly!
Dan O, I guess I just meant that as an example. In the early stages isn’t it best to plant the crops that give you the best return for your money? Aren’t soybeans better than eggplant way back at the beginning when you don’t have much money?
Let me try another example. I am not very business minded – I work in health care – so I may be on the wrong track, but here goes:
We are thinking of doing a fundraiser where we sell boxes of doughnuts. We have $100 to spend. We have the option of buying:
- 10 x $10 boxes of doughnuts which we can sell at $50 each, which is profit of $40 per box, or
- 2 x $50 boxes of doughnuts which we can sell at $100 each, which is profit of $50 per box
In the first case we will make $400; in the second we will make $100. So even though the profit per box is higher for the big boxes of doughnuts, we can only afford to buy two, so it is better to buy the smaller ones, which give us a better percentage return on our investment.
Or here’s a more likely scenario:
- 10 x $10 boxes of doughnuts which we can sell at $15 each, which is profit of $5 per box, or
- 4 x $25 boxes of doughnuts which we can sell at $35 each, which is profit of $10 per box
(the reason we can’t make better profit on the $25 boxes is that people just don’t want to spend more than $35 on a box of doughnuts)
In the first case we will make profit of $50; in the second we will make $40. So it is better to buy the $10 boxes, which give us less profit per box but a better return overall.
How can I delete blank pending neighbor requests?
Anne, you are correct. If money is a constraint, the idea of ROI becomes relevant. When money is not a limiting factor, though, profit becomes the most important measure of revenue.
OMG This site is becoming a monster. Looking forward to the new look James! Good Luck with that…
On FarmVille – STORAGE has arrived. Use some buildings including the tools shed to put items away creating more space…
Lots of new Holiday gifts and items to purchase. Wow, this guide will need to expand its wings with all the enhancements that are happening…
You can now delete pending neighbor requests! Just go into your “my neighbors” sections and hit cancel request. It now works!
Anne, again I see where you are going with this. but you need to use numbers from the game. you can’t make up scenario’s without numbers that are from the pool we have. Ill do it here and show you that with very low money, sometimes its better to use low crops.
Lets stick with the $300 rule as Farmer said up a little ways for the first example. Soybeans & Peas. Both 1 day crops. 1 is REALLY cheap. other is expensive, but the best profit in the game. This will show if you make all Soybeans, or a mix.
All Soybeans
20x $15 Soybeans = $300
20x $63 gain Soybeans harvested = $1260
20x $15 Plowing fee = $300
So heres the math. You start with 300. Spend 300 to plant the soybeans. Make 1260 once harvested. then spend 300 to plow.
$300-$300+$1260-$300=$960 in the end
Peas + soybeans
1x $190 Peas = $190
7x $15 Soybeans = $105
1x $381 gain Peas harvested = $381
7x $63 gain Soybeans Harvested = $441
8x $15 Plowing fee = $120
$300-$190-$105+$381+$441-$120 = $707
So it looks like all Soybeans, as apposed to a mix, early on is better when you have a small wallet size.
Now, if you are limited to space, a 10×10 lot or 100 squares, and money is no object, Then making peas will be your best return on investment.
All Soybeans
100x $15 Soybeans = $1500
100x $63 gain Soybeans Harvested = $6300
100x $15 plowing fee = $1500
Total = $3300 Profit
All Peas
100x $190 Peas = 19000
100x $381 gain Peas Harvested = $38100
100x $15 Plowing fee = $1500
Total Profit = $17600
Clearly Pea’s are far more money for the 1 day time spent.
So if you are Broke, All Soybeans are the way to go. Don’t mix and match. Once you can fork up the dough to make all Peas, then Peas are king.
Is there a way to get around the pop-up windows when you’re deleting that make you “accept” each plot you’re deleting?
I’m not too crazy about the new circus attractions although I did buy the balloon stand but I think that is all I’m going to invest in.
So what does everyone think Farmville will offer at Christmas? Do you think reindeer will wander onto our farms? It should be fun.
If you need neighbors you can call on me: rbohannon52@yahoo.com.
Christmas is gonna be huge. I just hope I don´t play farmville then, then I will waiste my time.
If you want to be on the front page at christmas, then you should start to think about ideas that you can do with you farm.
Dan O – I am still a bit sleep deprived from an overnight flight, but haven’t you just proven Farmer’s and my point? That when funds are limited, choosing the seed that gives you the best return on your investment is better than the one that makes the most profit per patch. We’re all playing a game here – there’s no need to be condescending. The initial responses to Farmer’s November 17 post were uncalled for.
