Flight Simulator 10 or XPlane 9

The different between Flight simulator 10 and Xplane 9, so you can decide.

Many people can’t decide if they should buy Flight simulator or Xplane. The easy option is to buy both but then you need £60, a computer with a lot of memory and high processing speed. I am going to give you as fair of a opinion so you can judge yourself. Both cost £30.

First Flight simulator needs these requirements:

  • Windows XP SP2 / Windows Vista
  • Processor: 1.0 Ghz
  • RAM: Windows XP SP2 – 256MB, Windows Vista – 512MB
  • Hard Drive: 14GB
  • Video Card: 32MB DirectX 9 compatible
  • Other: DX9 hardware compatibility and audio board with speakers and/or headphones
  • Online/Multiplayer Requirements: 56.6 kbps or better for online play

Any computer can should have most of those requirements if you have just bought it. THIS GAME WITH NOT RUN ON APPLE SOFTWARE BUT WILL WORK IF YOU HAVE PUT WINDOWS SOFTWARE, XP OR VISTA ON YOUR MAC.

X-plane needs these requirements:

  • A 2 GHz processor
  • 1.0 GB RAM
  • 64 MB VRAM
  • 60 GB of hard drive space

Again most computer bought today should have these requirement. THIS GAME WILL RUN ON APPLE, WINDOWS OR LUNIX.

Fsx has more of real feel to it in high quality as both the plane and landscape give you the impression of being in a plane.

Fsx as you can see has lower requirements so you can play higher quality and doesn’t take as much hard drive space. This means that there is less depth even in the highest quality.

In Fsx you can set a failure up so you can have a chance to save he day by your amazing flying but you can just by chance have an engine fail.

Fsx is very easy to learn and there are mission that help you learn about flight.

X-plane is more virtual, but looks much cooler and has more accurate flight e.g the wind push the plane like in real life.

X-plane has higher requirements so some people won’t have chance to see the highest quality. This however means that there is more depth and detail.

Where in X-plane you if you hit birds it could stop your engines or if you over speed your plane may start to come apart. You can turn it of but it is fun to real life problems confront you.

X-plane is very hard to control without a joystick (which could be another £15) and you need days to learn all the little tricks.

In my opinion if it means anything to you Fsx is cheaper and easy to learn but not as fancy and isn’t as well made as X-plane. Where if you have one of the best computers around and a fair bit of money and time get X-plane.
