Galactic Adventures

Galactic Adventures is the first expansion pack for the videogame Spore. The main feature that has been added to the game is the adventure creator, where you can create different missions for the new added feature which is the Space Captain. The Space Captain is basically the creature you use in your spaceship in Stage 5, the space stage. They’ve also added the Captain Outfitter, where you can add different tools, weapons and gear to your captain.

You can use a planet creator, to use for your missions. You can decide what the terrain looks like. You can add different objects whether it be animals that move or give them commands, or you can add vehicles and buildings.

 You can visit these planets that are made specifically for these adventure planets, where you are beemed down to the planet–which is also a new feature added to the game. You move about on foot. You can also beem down with your allies.

There are different missions you can do such as saving a planet from an invasion of the Grox, and possibly other races, or even simple missions like getting a famous pop star to his show on time. You can do missions that Maxis themselves have created and designed for players or you can do missions that other players have created, in the same way as you can use other players creations and designs. When you complete a mission, you gain points and you can unlock other abilities or weapons.

Overall it is a great addition to Spore, as it adds a new playable feature to the game. It is definitely worth buying for Spore fans, who want new challenges to try out. It doesn’t add as much as I hoped, such as overcoming the difficulty of conquering the galaxy in a single spaceship, or the other stages they missed out on such as the Aquatic Stage and the City Stage.
