Game Review: Fairytale Fights
Ready, set, go!
Fairytale Fights on Ps3 is a game that combines very bloody combat with fairytale characters.
The fairy tale characters you are able to use are Snow White, Little red riding hood, the naked emperor, and Beanstalk Jack. The boy/girl ratio is fair but also odd. The naked emperor and beanstalk jack aren’t from fairytales as popular as little red riding hood and snow white. They still play as very fun and interesting characters.
-Quest Mode-
I had a blast when playing quest mode. Little snow white was running around with any weapon she could find. I was using tree branches, mailboxes, saws, chainsaws, axes, hammers, bird nests, rabbits, you name it. Those weapons did great, slicing away at lumberjack after lumberjack. The blood fills the ground around your character giving them an enjoyable sliding experience. I found it quite funny the first time I saw Snow White sliding around on blood. The game is fast paced and definitely a fun experience.
-Arena Mode-
Arena mode is pretty fun when playing multiplayer. It is a little dry if you try to play it yourself. I would recommend Quest mode for the maximum level of fun.
CONS
The controls in the game are a little boring. You use the right analog stick to fight. That limits your ability to execute your choice of combos. It also makes it too easy to fight.
You need a pretty decent sized TV to play this game. Probably a 32″ or larger. The screen is very zoomed out, and I haven’t discovered a way to zoom in (I don’t think there is), so playing it on a 19″ tv wasn’t the best for my eyes.
The game lacks change. In the begining of the game, I played a few different chapters that all had the same goals. Kill the lumberjacks, find your way to the end. It gets a little stale but is still somehow addicting.
Other than that, the game was fun. I would say wait for the price to go down before you buy it. In my opinion it is worth no more than $30.
