Overview of the Game:

Grand Chase is an arcade styled game. There is basically two play modes. Dungeons and PvP. Occasionally, especially on holidays, NTREEV (the owner of Grand Chase) will start having temporary new modes, but thats not often. Since NAGC (North American Grand Chase) is still only 1 and a half years old, it still do not have that much mode. Servers like KGC and TWGC have minigames, which I hope will come out in NAGC soon. There is in all 10 characters, and each character can get up to 4 jobs. You can get all the characters and job all in one account, which is great. 40 play-styles in just one account. All the character have an MP bar. There is three MP skills for each character and job. On the MP bar, you’ll see 3 notches. Hold down to charge your MP. Charge your MP to one of the notches will activate the skill indicated. You’ll need full MP to use the skill, at least 2/3 MP to use the 2nd skill, and at least 1/3 MP to use first skill.

Controls:

Attack – Z

Move – < > ^ V(arrow keys)

Pet Attack – S

Taunt – A (used in PvP to lower opponent’s MP)

Changed Graphic Level – F1 to lower graphic level, F2 to increase graphic level (used to fix lag problems)

Charge MP – hold down Z

Characters:

Elesis

Jobs: Knight, Spearman, Sword Master, Savior

Elesis specializes in short range melee attack. She has increased defense and vitality, but lacks power. She has 80% more defense over Lire’s arrow than any other character. If hit enough with Lire’s arrow, or Lass’s kunai, she will release a berserk attack which throws nearby enemies into the air and slams them down to the ground for some damage. Her 2nd and 3rd job has especially long range, being that the weapon she uses is long. It is good to use against other character with short lange. Her 4th job uses a long double sword. It releases fast attacks and medium range.

Lire

Jobs: Archer, Crossbowman, Arch Ranger, Nova

Lire specializes in ranged attacks with arrows. To to good with her, you need to have good aim. You can aim the arrows with a quick up or down arrow right after you press the Z. If you master the aiming, you’ll be deadly in PvP and Dungeons. There is only 3 angle at which you can shoot crossman’s arrow, but 2 arrows are shot at a time, and approximately 3 arrows are shot per second. The third job has slow firing, but does a lot of damage. The 4th job combines the speed of crossbowman and the strength of Arch Ranger.

Arme

Jobs: Mage, Alchemist, Warlock, Battle Mage

Arme’s attacks are slow, but can do devastating damage. Most of her power comes from her 6 Mp skills. She is one of the few characters that has 6 Mp skills. She can deal damage to players all the way on the other side of the room, and can chain her skill s to create powerful comboes. Alchemists uses pots, filled with bombs and poison gas. Arme can throw bomb to a suffucient range, and can surround herself with bomb to keep out opponents. Her 3rd job doesn’t have 6 Mp skills, but have many normal skills.

Ronan

Jobs: Spell Knight, Dragon Knight, Aegis Knight, Abyss Knight

Ronan combines the power of magic and sword to attack. He also have 6 Mp skill for all his jobs. ronan is one of the least agile character, but can be really hard to catch. He can use him magic to heal and increase attack power. His 4th job probably has the most range out of all the melee characters, being able to shoot magic. Ronan has increased Defense and Vitality, but lacks Attack.

Lass

Jobs: Theif, Assassin, Dark Assassin, Stiker

Lass is the fast character in the game, and jumps the highest. But he also have one of the shortest range, at least until his 4th job. Lass deals fast comboes, but doesn’t do too much damage. He can throw kunai down toward enemies beneath him. Lass’s 2nd, Assassin, is hard to catch, with his fast down dash, air dash, and double dash. Dark Assassin can become invisible for 15, or until he attacks an opponent, making it one of the hardest class to catch in the game. Darks assassins specialize in air attack, and can deal almost the double the amount of damage in air than on ground.

Ryan

Jobs: Druid, Sentinel, Viken, Vanquisher

The main aspect of Ryan is his transformations. For each of his job, he can transform into a beast. Wolf, Nephilim, and Magnus. The or give boosts of all sort. Wolf gives him agility boost, making Ryan able to dash in air or on ground with freedom. Nephilim increases him attack power and give him medium super armour, making him hard to knock down. Magus has 3 extra sets of MP skills, adding on to Vanquisher’s original 6, Vanquisher has the most MP skills in the game.

Amy

Jobs: Dancer, Muse, Siren, Sistina

Amy’s jobs has two sets of skills, Fighting, and Dancing. The fighting mode lets her use her full power in her comboes, while the Dancing mode uses songs and dances to power up her allies and heal them. Amy is the most mobile character in the game, being able to double jump, air dash, run, double jump dash, and some skilled players can make her flying the air for a long time. She doesn’t have good range, but can run fast.

Jin

Jobs: Fighter, Taesacha, Asura, (Coming Soon)

Jin is only a new character in NAGC and only his first job is out. He has a powerful combo, and has a burning bar. Press X to charge up the bar, and each bar will allow Jin to do a special skill (no MP required)

Coming Soon: Seighart, 9th character

What do I Think About the Game:

I really love this game, and I will recommend this to everyone. But this game is really for teens and kids. Not exactly an adult game. There is no blood and gore, just some mild violence. The characters are cute, and the monsters are…well, not too cute. You have all the characters to train and all the dungeons to do. The controls may look simple, but there is many tricks to be master and many acheivements. I suggest you check out the game at its website: www.grandchase.net
