Halo Universe: It’s Vast, Bountiful and Well Developed:

A vast network of tales to be told. And I love the wait!

Halo Universe: It’s Vast, Bountiful and Well Developed:

The Half-Life series of games is dependent upon vagueness—it seems to be uncomfortable at the idea of revealing more about the world Gordon Freeman and co inhabit, which makes it a great shame. Because of the potential hidden within a universe of fantastic possibilities Valve could put into a series of novels following along mentioned elements—already mentioned through dialogue throughout Half-Life 2 and left completely untouched. But I accept those sort of things may never come to anything then a simple dream, so that why I enjoy the Halo expanded universe.

The situation is like Star Wars—except there isn’t thirty years worth of material to find, read, play, listen and watch. Halo isn’t overly complicated, doesn’t have a thousand books and still gives a fan a chance to catch up within a few days to read the books/graphic novels and play through four FPS’s and one excellent RTS. This series of fiction allows for the gamer or reader to take their pick of what they learn about the Halo Universe, that’s a great way of playing the field with a range of medias tying together over a number of years.

Actually I should make mention of those live-action trailers to do with Halo 3 and Halo ODST—I shall not refer to it as Halo 3 ODST—they were canon to the story at showing us events taking before the events of Halo 3 or a few years after it. I think it’s brilliant to fill in gaps of the past and future like that, it provides a sense of scale in terms of storytelling, adding layers of situation occurring around the lone Spartan: Master Chief. Excitement began to loom on the mention of Halo Legends (anime production) and it seems exciting at what tales will come forth in those shorts.

I’m a Halo fan, if you couldn’t tell.

Thought of the Day: September 25th:

I got myself thinking of stuff and realised how nice living life without letting people tell you to live it differently—I’m not one to be told what to do involving my life. Heck! I live it according to the ideas of what I believe work to give me freedom (no religion. No politics, just me and the world).
