How to Catch Thundurus in Pokemon Black and White
Want to snag the flying- and electric-type legendary of Unova? Find out how to catch Thundurus in Pokemon Black and White here!
Thundurus is a Pokemon White-exclusive pokemon. You need to do the following to unlock and catch it in your game:
1.) Get the eight gym badges of Unova. You needn’t beat the main game to do this.
2.) You’ll hear of a freak storm on Route 7. Fly back there – it’s north of Mistralton Town – and wander along the route until you’re stopped out front of a house by an old woman. She insists that you come in out of the storm.
3.) Once inside, you’ll hear a brief tale of a destructive pokemon nearby, and when you leave you’ll see Thundurus for a few seconds. The old woman will comment that it moves around south Unova during the day and north Unova at night.
4.) Head to a guard house between two routes, depending on the time of the day, and look at the bulletin board. After a few seconds it will note that there’s a freak storm on one of the routes.
5.) Fly to that route. You won’t find a storm, as Thundurus will have moved. Head for the nearest guard house.
6.) Move in and out of the guard house until you find the route enveloped in a storm. Thundurus is now on the route.
7.) Put a Max Repel on your pokemon and head out into the grass. When the storm gets to its fiercest point, Thundurus will show up.
8.) Use Mean Look to keep Thundurus from running, which it will normally do immediately, then whittle its HP down with False Swipe. Once it’s at one hit point, start chucking Poke Balls. You’ll catch it eventually.
