How to Find Tm30, Shadow Ball, in Pokemon Black and White

One of the consummate must-learn moves of any Pokemon generation, Shadow Ball remains a strong contender for a great move in Pokemon Black and White – and, fortunately, it’s not that difficult to find…

… so long as you’re willing to wait until the end of the main game to get it, or close enough. TM30, which teaches Shadow Ball, is located in the Relic Castle, and you can’t access it until you reach the tail end of Team Plasma’s nefarious plans.

To find Shadow Ball, wait until you are tasked with visiting the Relic Castle in the Desert Resort. Once you are, Fly to Nimbasa City and go south, then west, to find the Desert Resort (assuming you haven’t visited the area previously). Fight off the trainers if they’re still itching for a brawl and make your way north from the entrance to find a set of stairs leading into the Relic Castle.

Once you’re inside, walk to the west over the quicksand – make sure you walk, as you’ll get sucked down otherwise – to the stairs. Go down and enter the sand pit next to the Team Plasma Grunt. Once you sink you’ll be on the B2F; Shadow Ball is sitting nearby, just past another Grunt and a quicksand pit. Grab it and continue on your quest to stop Team Plasma.
