How to Flip Items Using The Grand Exchange in Rs!

Well there are loads of ways to merch. This way is my favorite. I used to sell this but it leaked so you lucky people get to see it for free :D .

Guide to Flipping

Note: Although flipping is alot safer than Clan Merchanting, there is still a risk of losing money. Potential Errors will be explained later on in this thread.

My Way of flipping

To begin flipping, I strongly recommend have 5M or over to make a marginal profit. However, if you are keen to learn how to flip and want to start small then anything after that will be fine… BUT BE WARNED: If you have less than 5M you will NOT make a vast profit.

 =-Step One-=

- Finding an Item

To find an Item is a fairly simple process. However, there are two methods of doing this.

FOR FINDING A MORE EXPENSIVE ITEM:

Go to the RuneScape home page, the select “Game Guide”, and then “Grand Exchange”. This will bring you to the Grand Exchange graphs, displaying the recent economical activitey of all the tradeable items in the G.E. over the last six months.

You can now type in any item into the “Search” icon at the top of the page. This will bring you to your selected item (As long as you spelt it 100% correctly!) For the sake of it, our item shall be “Dark Bow”

The next stage is to see wether or not Dark Bows are at a flipable stage. You tell this by looking at the BLUE line in the graph (seen after you click on “Dark Bow”

If the blue line is relativley flat, then the item is stable and therefor is less likley to change in price dramatically over the next twenty-four hours. This is a perfectly flippable item.

Of course, it’s almoste impossible to find such an item, so therefor slight shakes/falls/rises are acceptable.

=- Step One-=

- Finding an Item

FOR FINDING A LESS EXPENSIVE ITEM:

To find a less expensive item, carry out the process as showen in the post above to get to the Grand Exchange graphs.

This time, on the Homepage of the G.E. graphs, if you look too the top right corner of the box that displays various items, you will see a button called, “View Trade Info”. Click on this.

Now look at the “Most Traded” section and click on “More”. Look at the last 7 days and it will show you the items that have been baught and sold the most over the past week. Pick afew and look at their graphs. Judge the graph how I told you in the above poste.

Once you have found an item, you can move on to stage two!

=- Step Two-=

- Buying the item:

So now that you have your item, go to the Grand Exchange with your money and prepare for your flip!

-First:
Buy ONE of your chosen item for the MAXIMUM price. Lets say we have chosen a raw shark (If your doing fish, always pick raw ones as they buy/sell easier). You must now buy ONE shark for the HIGHEST price. Lets say the lowest price is 1,000gp, medium is 1,100gp and highest is 1,200gp.

When you buy the Raw Shark for the highest price, you will get back some change. For example, you buy the shark and offer 1,200gp, and get 75 gp back. Now this is where the maths comes in.

-Second:
You must carry out the following summ.

Max price – Change you got back = your selling price.

In this case…

1,200gp – 75gp = 1,125gp

Write down 1,125gp in your note section, as this is your selling price and you will need to know it for later.

-Third:
Find 5% of your selling price. The reason why it’s 5% is because you should make around 5% of your invested gp after each flip.

You must carry out the followin summ:

5 divided by 100 times your selling price.

In this case…

5 divided by 100 times 1,125 = 56.25 = 56.

-Fourth:
Take 56 away from 1,125 and you will get 1,069. This is around how much you should buy your items for. If your item is slightly falling in price, take afew gp off, if it’s rising slightly, maybe add afew gp on, or leave it as it is.

By now, you should have these numbers written in your “note” section:

Buy Price = 1,069 gp
Sell Price = 1,125 gp
Profit per Item = 56 gp

It may seem complecated now, but it’s really simple once you get the hang of it! for further information or 1 to 1 help, simply ask a rank in the clan chat

DUDE!! PLEASE REPLY!! , I DONT UNDERSTAND THE 5% THINGY, I KNOW WAT PRICE TO SELL THE ITEM, BUT IDK THE PRICE TO BUY IT,

5 divided by 100=.05 therefor 5%. Subtract it from selling price, and buy for that much, and you will make 5% profit at the end
