Josh’s Guide to Making Money in Tf2/steam – Part One

Hello and welcome to my guide on making money though steam and Team Fortress 2. In this 10 part series I will show you how I make around $40 a month by playing tf2. So here we go!

Your First steps

We will start with a few things that you need. 

- A full Team Fortress 2 account

- A steam account

-And this guide right here!

Now I assuming that you have gone a got those thing on the list above. It’s now time for my first tip:

KNOW YOUR PLACE

This means that you shouldn’t try and be a pro trader right away, “Good Thing Take Time” you need to start low and work your way up the ladder. So where do I start? Right at the start all you need to do is play until you find at least 20-30 weapons/items if you don’t want to play the game you just want to trade you can

1.    Idle. This is where you leave your computer on over-night (with the scene off) on a lan server, You can set one up by starting the game then clicking the little plus button next to the Browse servers Button, go game setting and pick a map that doesn’t have a timer set (E.g. a trade map or idle map. If you do not have one of these; go browse servers and play on one. The map will download). Then go server settings and set everything to 99999

2.    Ask for free weps. In my view this is not a good way to get started because it is rare for people to give out stuff for free, but then again you just might get lucky. To do this; go on a trade server, ask in chat something like Does anyone have any spare weps they could give to me? try and be as well-mannered as possible when doing this.

Once you have 20-30 weapons and items, move them all (or just the trade-able one or the ones you want to sell) to page six of you back pack. Go on a trade server and say something like this in the chat: SELLING PAGE 6 OF MY BP, !BP your name here. Copy it then press enter wait 20-30 seconds and then post again, and there you go, it might take a while but soon you will be making small profit.

TIP NO. 2: KNOW YOUR PRICES

I cannot stress this tip enough, to may new traders get scammed by not knowing the prices of their items. ONE WEAPON IS ONE SCRAP OR TWO WEAPONS or that’s what you should be selling them for. For other thing you can use this website: http://www.tf2spreadsheet.blogspot.com
