Jumpgate Evolution
Jumpgate Evolution is a video game that I recently played at E3.
Heading into E3 this year, one of the games, that I was really hoping to see was Jumpgate Evolution. Jumpgate Evolution is an MMO that is set in space much like EVE Online. However, unlike EVE, Jumpgate is controlled much like a first person shooter. The controls are very responsive and the manueverability is silky smooth. Mastering the flight will be quite difficult, but makes for a great PVP platform. It balances the playing field by allowing the battles to largely be decided by skill instead of gear or weapons. Obviously the gear and weapons are still important as you can gain bigger and better ships with bigger and better weapons attached to them, but If you can’t hit the guy that you are trying to kill then all that does not really matter. This sort of gameplay has not really been done to this extent in MMOs as a whole. Most of the time, you grind to get the best gear and if you are any good at all you get to kill everyone that has lesser gear than you do.
I did not spend too much time on Jumpgate as there were plenty of other games to draw my attention away from it, but what I did see I really liked. The beta for the game starts soon and you can check out videos at g4tv.com as well as gametrailers.com if you would like to see some actual footage from the game. I can’t wait to hear what else is in store for Jumpgate. If it is as good as what I have seen so far then it should be well received.

Very informative. I had not heard of the game until I read your article. Now, I’m looking forward to hearing more. Thanks for the read.
