Modding!:call of Duty: Black Ops

Before i begin, i would like to apologize to all my readers for not posting anything lately, I’ve just been so caught up between work and school, that i haven’t had much time to write anything. With that now out of the way, Call of Duty: Black Ops was just released a month ago, and the game is amazing.  All over the place, in magazines and on the Internet, there are articles about how amazing it is, however, a less know discussion about the game is, IS IT MODDABLE?!?!? And the answer to such a question is…….  CERTAINLY YES!  Now when i say modding i am referring to the ability to open a file in a program, change the gravity, health, ammo count etc, you can check out GameTuts and the Tech Game for some cool usb tuts, use at you own risk however.  There was a lot of speculation that Black Ops would go untouched by mods due to Treyarch’s new mission to crack down on modding and glitching.  But surely modding  is here.  Thanks to j-tagging, Black Ops is just another game that we will contaminate with goodies and happiness:)  Just be sure to stock up on your K-Vs because, trust me, you will be banned quicker than ever thought possible, unless you are the offline j-tagger, and in that case then just enjoy.  Now at the moment, modding is only possible through having a j-tagged or flashed Xbox360.  It was foretold that usb/transfer cable modding would die with the new game due to the new personal encryption on all game saves but, The simple, not-so-simple remedy for this, is to develop a software that will remove the encryption off of the game saves, enabling modding.  Now there are already know modding-software engineers on the job of creating this software, it is just down to a matter of time when this software will be completed and published.  My best guesses are that the glorious Game-Tuts will be the first to get a hold of this software so it may be a good idea to keep a close eye on the Game-Tut forums and even as far as keep and eye on the Modio tool update list.  Another guess of mine is that the main creator of the famous Cod-tool will create and release a software that will remove the encryptions and at the same time have an interface for modding.  Now much as i am excited for the modding software, I’m speculative on how long it will last.  As I stated earlier, Treyarch is really cracking down on modding and glitching this time, so one theory of mine is that Treyarch no longer only monitors online gaming, but as well as monitors the campaign of the game.  That way they will be the first to know modding is indeed back for another run through the cod franchise and will certainly do their best to put an end to it, and surely ban anyone who has taken part is such a horrible activity that modding is haha  At this moment in time, I’m not to sure of what to make of it all, but i will be sure to keep everyone posted on up and coming news.
