Most Hated Game in The World

Now let me start with a small story that i have of this particular game. Now im sitting down doing a bit of research for my school assignment…English I think it was. Anyway, I came across this website and of course there is… the ad sitting there on the side of my rather large computer monitor. Now while your trying to do some research this particular ad can be rather distracting and not because the ad is “asthetically pleasing to the eye”. No way, ill tell you why because i constantly have to look over my back. You see when your family aren’t sound with computers it kind of hard to tell them that it is an ad on a website your doing your homework on. So anyway, my grandad walks into the room to call me out for dinner, and well i think he saw the ad…AWKWARD!

Now i dont want to keep you in suspense any longer, but im sure you all know what ad im talking about. Yes that’s right its EVONY. Now I myself is all for a good game, I’m prepared to judge a game based on its merits but Evony’s ad campaign has really made me go away from the game rather than play it. I havent as of yet played the game very much so therefor i cannot comment on its content but let me tell you the reasons why this game is probably hated.

• Its sending out a terrible message to young children. I can image young playgrounds with kids talking about a game they came across. Most of them are probably talking about the lady they saw on the ad, and that sort of discussion can lead to a lot of things as there is a lot of stuff on the internet that kids shouldnt really be getting into.
• From what i have heard from some reliable sources (forums and friends), I have come to the conclusion that this game really has nothing to do with the ad that is shown the various sites.

Lets take a look at the game itself, i couldnt find a trailer on it so i’ve just put in a gameplay tutorial i came across:

• “i just think Evony is degrading them selves by doing it, even if it works” – from left4dead forums user
• “I swear those ads follow me around or something… everywhere I go, they are present.
  They’re not funny, they’re not attractive and I don’t really want them there while I’m trying to read a webcomic or whatever.” – from dragon cave forum user
• “It’s seriously annoying. The reason it’s everywhere though is because the owners are paying tons of money for advertising, so every advertising network on the internet pretty much is pushing the ads on their clients” – from yahoo answers user

Evony might be a good game, but a really believe that this is not the way that they should be going about promoting their game. It has come to the point of ridiculous because it is almost everywhere and if it means anything please take the ad off just for the sake of avoiding those AWKWARD moments!
