My Top Five Final Fantasy Games
This is a ranking made by myself about the Final Fantasy Saga.
Hope you enjoy it
As you know, Final Fantasy is one of the best games collection of all time.
Many of the people still remember the beginning of this great collection. The old fashioned Final Fantasy I, II and III for the SNES. Well, this as actually the beginning of a worldwide famous video game.
When the “3D World Era” started, Final Fantasy also made big improvements, beginning with one of the most famous, if not the most famous Final Fantasy game. Im talking about Final Fantasy VII, where we are invited to presence the epic battle between Cloud and Sephiroth and also the saddest moment in all Final Fantasy games, in my opinion. The death of Aerith/Aeris.
Well, as time passed we had the Final Fantasy VII and IX games. 4 discs of pure entertainment and fights, as well of secrets about important characters discovered, like the relation between Zidane and Kuja(Final Fantasy IX) or the hidden truth about Princess Edea, also know as Elone(Final Fantasy VIII)
Finally, we get to the PS2 world, with Final Fantasy X2, where we are involved into a world apparently lost to the monster Sin and to a group of heroes that want the Eternal Calm to return to the World of Spira.
The development continued and this saga started to appear on PSP, NDS and PC. Currently, all the fans are waitin for the release of Agito:Final Fantasy XIII
Now, it’s time for my top 5 Final Fantasy Games
Number 5: Final Fantasy VIII
Without doubt the story of this game is awesome, as well as the gameplay. However there is a fact. 4 Discs! The game should be a little shorter and, in my opinion, there are way too much GF( Guardian Forces) and the Magic Junction System looks a little complex for people that are starting to play Final Fantasy.
Number 4:Final Fantasy IX
This game is also a little long but we have a much easier battle system. Also there are some funny parts with Zidane and Garnet (please, i think everyone knows what a dagger is, except Garnet of course). My favorite parts of this game are the Card Game and the Battle System. The Card game is very funny and entertaining and we can lose hours without count playing it. The battle system features the “Trance” status where characters fight with unique abilities. This is one good game for both beginners and veterans of Final Fantasy.
Number 3: Final Fantasy X2
A nice prologue of Final Fantasy X. Whou could ever think of making Yuna a Gunwoman? It’s one of the coolest ideas ever!!! This game features a ATB(Active Time Battle), like Final Fantasy VII, VIII and IX and that makes this game a very challenging one. The Bosses are somehow strong and we can battle the weaker version of the Dark Aeons. This game also includes the feature of training a Blitzball team to make them the best blitzball team in all world…i mean…Spira
Number 2: Final Fantasy X
If the prologue was good, the what came before it is even better! We have Tidus in love with Yuna, Wakka in love with Lulu and we also have a great story. To defeat Sin requires more than strenght and power. It requires courage, the courage of killing is father to save Spira. This is what Tidus does, he ends up killing is father Jecht to save the world from Sin and, most importantly, to avoid Yuna’s sacrifice (what love can do to a guy). This games also features blitzball, but here we control a player and we try to pass, avoid tackles and score with him. We can say that this game has got one of the moste difficult challenges of all Final Fantasy games. I am talking about the Dark Aeons and Judgement, a group of bosses that are able to challenge even the most powerful character of the world!!!
Number 1: Final Fantasy VII
I know it’s from PS, i know it does not have the graphics of Final Fantasy IX or X, but it’s the most famous game of the saga!! If you ask someone the name of a Final Fantasy character they will mostly say Cloud,Tifa or Sephiroth. These are the characters that made this game so famous! The story is, for me, the best of all Final Fantasy games and we see this story by other people’s eyes. The battle system is also very good and the Materia system matches perfectly with this game. It has one of the saddest moments of the history of video games, the death of Aeris/Aerith and one of the most epic battles of all time, Cloud vs Sephiroth. It also features a “casino” where you can win money or very good items by playing various games. This game is a “must” for any Final Fantasy fan and, when we finish this game, we think about how it was before that? Well, you can just think how it was or you can see it with your own eyes on Crisis Core, only avaliable for PSP
This concludes my ranking. Hope you enjoyed it and sorry for my english(im portuguese)

dude u got so much wrong its unbelievable. ffX-2 is a EPILOGUE not a prologue of ffX. Also every1 is awaiting ffXIII, ffXIII versus and ffxiv mroe than agito. The first 3 are nes not snes. Also i can’t believe u’ve even played ff1-6 since u’ve only mentioned the ones since 7 which non-asian countries have mainly played. phail list
Well, thanks for your opinion. It’s my first real article so good and bad points about it are good so I can make better articles
I might have traded some words because I’m portuguese and I’m better at talking english than writting.Sorry for that.
I have played all ff from 1 to 10 and I sometimes trade the super nintendo with the nintendo. About the most waited final fantasy I think that everyone has his/her own opinion. But thanks for the opinion, I aprecciate it
I liked seeing FF7 at top spot because I agree with you that it IS the best Final Fantasy game ever. However I do not agree with your summation of Final Fantasy 8. Personally I loved how long the game is. Also having that many different GF’s! I loved that part too. One more thing I liked about your article is you gave FF9 some props which I don’t see many people doing. I personally really enjoyed #9, and although it didn’t come close to beating #7 (my favorites in order are probably 7,8,9) I still thought it was a good game. Ten was fun too but I kind of felt like the direction Square Enix is taking Final Fantasy is a direction not as favorable to me as their past productions. Even now as I am playing FF13, I like it and think it is fairly well done but it just doesn’t bring that non stop have to play it, feeling you got when you really jumped into the stories of FF7 or FF8.
