New Alternate Reality Game Launch: Singularity

A video was uploaded to YouTube, launching a brand new “Alternate Reality Game”, defined by the TINAG code (”This Is Not A Game”), blurring the edges of facts and fiction.

The video uploaded to YouTube is a supposedly Russian news clip, reporting the assassination attempt on a scientist and the subsequent shooting of the would-be killer. Other uploads have been taken down by the Russian government.

The organization “Mir-12″ (site currently disabled – but here is the Mir-12 Twitter) was founded to discover the truth that Russia has kept hidden and is believed to have planned this attack. Many people have been killed because they knew only of some pieces of this information, hidden from the world for decades.

The founder of Mir-12 however, an American student, denied any knowledge of the scientist prior to the date of the incident documented in the video, and stated that Natasha Norvikov, the assassin, was nothing more than a friend.

Natasha was indeed a member of the “global community” of Mir-12, which still is attempting to uncover the truth concerning a Russian conspiracy surrounding a top secret Soviet weapon testing program that took place during World War Two. You’ll find this attractive young woman on Flickr and Facebook. And here is Natasha’s photography artwork.

“Mir-12″ seems to be a viral marketing campaign for the upcoming video game Singularity, that will be launched in the spring of 2010. Game producer Activision describes the game as a extremely inventive and unique first person shooter. DDB Los Angeles produced the alternate reality game to get some buzz for the official trailer launch of the video game.

Over to Mir-12 again. If you want to join the effort to uncover the Soviet secrets, then take a look at the Mir-12 YouTube Channel. This is only part one of what looks like an upcoming awesome series of “faction” video’s:
