On Flash Games 154 – Folds
Origami – the game.
On Flash Games 154 covers a game called Folds, which you can try your hand at here on Kongregate. Sublimely original, Folds is the only origami video game I think I’ve ever played. While the stereotype Chinese restaurant ambience is a little cliche (isn’t origami Japanese, anyway?) the game itself is brillant – pinch and fold the paper onto the guide, and if you get the paper to the size and shape of the guide in a prescribed number of folds, you win the stage. It sound boring, but I had to peel myself off of this one. The sound effects are nice, too. I’ve indicated previously I’m a fan of paper and writing and all those trappings of the era before the computer, and the sound effects of crisp paper is just that, nice. I will say, though, that Folds’s paper is way, way more flexible than any ivory bond sitting in my office. Great game – 5/5.
