Online Multiplayer Games: Good or Bad?

Some people belive that computer games are bad for you. That may not be entierly true says another group, on online muliplayer games you can chat therefor imporving the persons social skills.

For a while parents have been discouraging kids and teenagers to get off the behind and go outside and play. A new group of people are now claiming that some online multiplayer games can actually help your social ability to strike a conversation with others. There are still some parents and people that are sticking to there story complexly and not even considering the other ones side. Let’s take a look at both sides views.

Parents against video games, even online games will often tell there kids, “Hey, get off you butt, and get outside.” A lot of adults today can also feel that way as when they were kids and young adults they did not have all the luxuries kids and teenagers have these days. These parents claim that these games are too addictive. The also claim that the only thing these games want to do is get money out of the kids, with there parents credit cards or pre-paid cards. Walk down any isle that sells video games next time you are at wal-mart or target you will see several pre-paid cards that you can buy virtual items with, this group claims that is a complete waste of money.

The other group of people, the ones that support video games more, are not entirely for video games. Meeting face to face with someone, they claim, is much better but for those kids that are shy, video games are a great way to help there social skills. They also say they do not want a kid or a young adult to be sitting on the video games non-stop as that is not healthy. The other group claims that the games are just to addictive, this group does agree that video games are additive, that’s why you need to manage your time or your kids time that you spend on the computer or a game consol. The group of people that are completely against these games also claim that these game companies are just trying to take cash from these kids. There are mixed feelings on this. A pretty big group of people are claiming that these virtual items you get in these games for real cash help these kids imagination. If they were designing there virtual house and they needed 15 dollars, sure its a little money out of the pocket, but it can help there imagination.

I personally am against online video games. Kids have gone so far of stealing there parents credit card because they were so addicted. The only exercise some of these kids get is through PE which is usually only once or twice a week at most schools. Well that is my simple opinion on this topic.
