10 Must Have Free Games for Your iPhone

You just got your shiny, new iPhone…now what? You want to add apps, just like everyone else but you just blew your dough on the iPhone and are now low on cash. Below is a list of free (and low cost)  game apps for your iPhone that won’t make a dent in your pocketbook, personally tested and recommended by yours truly.

1.       Angry Birds
This popular game is free to try, $.99 to purchase. With easy game play and gradually challenging levels, you’ll soon find yourself addicted to this game of block smashing fun. Also available: Angry Birds Rio, and Angry Birds Seasons.

2.       Cut the Rope
Getting candy into a little monster’s mouth is not as easy as it sounds. Each level gets more and more difficult until you want to smash your iPhone. A game for those who like puzzles to the point of madness.

3.       Smurf’s Village
They may have a movie but here you manage the village. The app is free but to upgrade your village, you can purchase Smurfberries as in-app purchases.

4.       Solitaire
The quintessential card game is necessary for boring conversations, long car trips and boring movies.

5.       3D Pool Master Pro
I looked at many pool games and this game had them all beat and the price was very right, free. Play 8 or 9 ball on a hyper realistic table with easy controls.

6.       Action Bowling

 I love The Big Lebowski, so naturally I have a bowling app. Roll the ball, hit the pins…what could be simpler? Customize your ball, choose your locale and put a spin on that ball!

7.       Spades
Another card game to pass the time, this free spades app keeps me practicing until I can find 3 real people to get a game on.

8.       Bejeweled 2 + Blitz
This one is $.99 but it integrates with your Facebook so that you can challenge your friends. I current high score is over 400,000…can you beat that?

9.       Texas Hold’em Poker
Play against real players to win it all. Use the in-app purchase feature to buy more chips and become a real high roller.

10.   Theme Park Pinball
Go old school with an addictive pinball game based on theme parks. Five different levels to keep your thumbs occupied.
