A Beginner’s Guide to Online Gaming

This guide was made especially for you bored people with nothing better to do. Come check it out anyway if you aren’t one of them. You might learn something.

Probably everyone has heard about online gaming, but how much do you know about it?

There are different kinds of games ranging from simple flash games to complicated and time consuming mmorpgs. Here, I’ll give you a brief explanation of them to help improve your online gaming experience.

Let’s start off with the simplest of games. These are the games on those online gaming sites like gamepost and miniclip. There are many games like these on the internet but which of them are really any good is up to you. Some of these games are just boring and no fun. However, there are some games that can get very addicting. Personally, I like games like Boxhead 2-play and Bowmaster Prelude. Be careful, though, when you go on sites that host these games. Some are unreliable, and can put bugs and viruses into your computer.

Aside from the unpredictable online games told about above, there are also the more reliable online games that you pay for the full version. I’m talking about games like Jewel Quest and Block Breaker. You usually get to play a demo and then they tell you to buy the full version. It’s up to you how much you want to buy it, but make sure you want that game before you buy it, or you’re wasting your money.

Some of the better games on the internet are rpgs. For those who don’t know, “rpg” stands for role-playing-game. Rpgs are usually played alone with no interaction with other players. They are usually quite vast and fun. If the game doesn’t feel very interactive or fun, it probably is not a very good rpg. You can pay a membership fee for some rpgs to gain access to bonus features. Adventure Quest s a fairly good rpg. There are other rpgs just like it on battalion.com like Dragon Fable. It’s up to you to find them for yourself.

There’s one last type of online game I want to talk about, and those are mmorpgs. Don’t get confused now, mmorpgs may sound like rpgs, but there is one major difference, and that is multiplayer interaction. In rpgs, you don’t interact with other players (ex. see, talk, trade, and sometimes fight). In mmorpgs, you can do all that and more. Now, other player interaction can make the game more or less fun, depending on how you look at it. With other player interaction, you can talk your spare time away and meet with your friends.

However, some people like to insult others and scam them of there stuff on these games. To avoid this happening to you, some games have a “report abuse” button that you can press and report scammers and people who like to trash talk. Mmorpgs are usually the most addicting and fun games, but can also be risky and dangerous depending on the type of people that play it. It’s your choice if you want to play them.

One more thing before I finish up, in mmorpgs, the way people chat is almost like another language. If you are unfamiliar with online gaming, starting off may be quite hard. There are many different abbreviations and terms, and they may differ between games. Some common terms are “lol” (laugh out loud) and “idk”(I don’t know). In the beginning of the game, you may also be called a “noob” by more experienced players. Don’t be too offended though, “noob” simply means newbie or new player. Eventually, you’ll get used to it and may even be able to speak in the language of online gaming.

Now that you know a bit about online gaming, go out there and play to your heart’s content!
