Bored? Find an Online Game to Play

I have thought up a list of MMOs for you to try out.

Here are some MMOs that I have tried and found interesting (order is random).

Runescape (Runescape.com)

You can play F2P or P2P (7.95$ US/ a month).    Description: There are many skills non-combat related used to earn revenue (coins/ GP), such as woodcutting, mining, firemaking, cooking, hunting, fletching, and much more.  The available Combat Skills are: Attack(used for melee) Effect: The higher your attack, the more often you can do high hits. Strength(used for melee) Effect: The higher your strength, the higher your hits can go. Defence(used for melee) Effect: The higher your defence, the less damage opponents will be able to hit on you. Hitpoints(used for melee, ranged, and magic) Effect: The higher your hitpoints, the more damage you will be able to take before you reach 0 Hitpoints(resulting in death). Magic(used for magic) Effect: The higher your magic, the more spells you will be able to do, and the higher damage you can do.  Ranged(used for ranged) Effect: The higher your ranged, the more damage you will be able to do while ranging will increase, and there will be more bows and arrows you can use.  All the combat skills are used to equip different kinds of equipment:

Attack: Weapons  Defence: Armour  Strength: Certain Weapons  Magic: Staffs, Magic Armour  Ranged: Bows, Arrows, Ranging Armour

This game includes different kinds of PVP (some cause you to lose all your items held while fighting, others do not).

Neopets (Neopets.com)

Most of the game is F2P, but P2P just gets a few additional advantages.  Description: You are allowed up to 4 pets (Neopets).  To earn revenue (NP) you can play minigames, make trades, bid on auctions, sell at your own store, buy from others’ stores, and much more.  Neopoints can be used to buy paintbrushes (used to change the color of your pet), petpets (pets for your pets), petpetpets (pets for your petpets), Morphing Potions (morphs your pet into a different color and species), and much more. You can Create your own “Neopets” There are Limited Edition Neopets (only available 1 day per year, or not even) and Restricted Neopets (available through different methods).  You may also adopt Neopets from the Neopian Pound, where you can find Limited Edition, Restricted, Painted, and Basic Neopets.  There is a fee for adopting and pounding your Neopets.  Your Neopets Have skills, such as health, speed, defence, etc.  Your Neopets can fight against NPCs or other players’ Neopets in the Battledome.  There are weapons and armour that you can buy for your neopet which can be used while fighting in the battledome.  To raise your Neopets skills, you can use bottled faeries, codestones, random events, and more.  Neopets have hunger, and you should feed them so they do not starve.  There are boards used to discuss topics incase you need anymore help.

Maplestory (Nexon.net)

It is simple to get through the game with F2P.  Paying real life money just earns you a different currency used for different clothes, in-game effects, and more.  Though, that currency is available for F2P through a different trade system.  You start off on Beginner Island and raise AP and SP based on which path you would like to take (Magician, Ranger, Thief, Pirate, Warrior) Magicians use MP to do their attacks. MP recharges slower than HP, and is used for special attacks.  Both MP and HP can be recharged with pots.  Rangers can use crossbows or normal bows (arrows are used with them, but are really cheap). Though, some arrows do more damage and can cost a lot more.  Rangers only use MP for their special attacks. Thieves become Bandits (they fight with daggers) or Assassins (they fight with claws which throw shooting stars- shooting stars are rechargeable at stores).  MP is used a lot with thieves.  Pirates can use guns, or daggers. Guns require different kinds of bullets, just like shooting stars, and are rechargeable at stores.  Warriors use all different kinds of melee weapons to fight, and can inflict tons of damage.  In Maplestory F2P is the way to go!

Club Penguin (ClubPenguin.com)

Club Penguin is based on P2P.  F2P players can find pins, buy a limited amount of pets, and do mini-games.  Mini-games earn money which can be used to buy pets, and if you are P2P, clothes too. Your Penguin can be all different colors, and once you are experienced enough, you can become a secret agent, which gets your penguin a walkie talkie, some other clothes, and access to the secret agency area. Game is not recommended for F2P.

Puzzle Pirates (PuzzlePirates.com)

Puzzle Pirates involves strategy for puzzling.  There are different kinds of puzzles, such as sailing, bilging, navigating, poker, treasure drop, distilling, alchemistry, etc.  On your stats page there is experience and standing for each skill.  Experience is based on how much you’ve played that particular puzzle, and there are two different standings.  One standing type is archipelago- How good you are compared on the Islands you live near, and Ocean-wide- How good you are compared to every pirate on the ocean. There are different kinds of Oceans. Doubloon Oceans are mainly F2P- you only pay real life money for money.  Subscription Oceans are mainly P2P. You pay money for all the benefits Doubloon Oceans get for paying in-game currency. There are Family Oceans for more younger children, where there is no poker, staking money, and sinking of ships.  On all Oceans you can own ships, and own/belong in crews and flags, though only in no-family oceans, your boats can sink if you are at war with someone, in sea monster hunts, sinking flotillas, and blockades. Sea Monster Hunts make great revenue (Pieces of Eight/ PoE), but based on performance.  Flotillas make you PoE based on how many NPC boats your boat sinks.  Blockades are used to fight over islands that can be player owned.
