Eyes of a Hacker: Why Online Game Cheating Sucks
Take it from me, I can tell you why game hacking sucks, and why if interested it shouldn’t be taken seriously.
Alright, so I figure I would write a small article on Game Hacking. It seems to be a big thing, there are a lot of underground forums out there. I feel in some way I could offend people, at the same time sticking up for “Legit Gamers” but just so I state it here, I am not taking sides. I have done plenty of online game hacking, everything from memory editors to packet sniffers, all the way down to dirty disassembly of a game.
Cheating is a fun thing, for the first couple of days, or maybe when you get mad at someone, it all depends on the kind of game you are cheating. Below is a list of multiple kinds of gaming cheats and hacks, along side of each kind of cheat is a small description.
- Aimbot - The Aimbot is just what it sounds like. A Program that Aims at a target in a game. These Aimbots will usually come specific to a certain game, all the way down to the build version.
- Wallhack - The Wallhack is also self explanitory. When loaded with a game, usually a 3d FPS game, it will show different options on “Hacking” the ways. What this means is depending on the options you select, you can see through them, only see entities, such as players through the walls, or you could view it all in a grid mode. All of these options are avalible in most Wallhacks.
- Memory Editors - Memory editors like Cheat Engine, ArtMoney, T-Search, LSpiro’s Memory Hacker, and more are all just a few to name. Memory editors are vast, and come with a ton of features, if you get your hands on a good one. Cheat Engine is probably the most popular and one of the best. Memory Editors scan a programs memory, just as life, energy, ammo, ect. The Memory Editor can than change different aspects of the game, accordingly.
- Packet Editors - Packet Editors sniff out packets from a selected program to modify. It is a little more complex than memory editing, depending on how good you can interperet directions. Packet Editors do have a down side, most of the packets they pick up are encrypted, and to decrypt them and understand what they mean is almost impossible, but nothing is impossible.
These are just a few of the tools used in the world of a game hacker. Don’t be fooled, anyone can do it, all you have to do is have the common sense, and the will to learn, and you are already on the right track.
There is a downfall to game hacking, and it has been causing problems sense online gaming was around. No one wants to play with a cheater. If you are playing a online game that has interaction with other players, it just isn’t fair to die 100 times from someone that is invincible. This makes gaming very boring after awhile of hacking, you just don’t get into it as much, and you get deathly bored after a half hour of constant winning.
A huge downside to hacking is the ammount of Virus’s and Rootkit’s to can get. Say you are playing a game of counter-strike online, and someone constantly is killing you through a wall, you getting really mad, especially sense your helpless without a hack too. So what would any pissed off person do? Go out and try to find a hack that can beat theres and give them the edge, this can also be a huge problem, though. So you out looking around, you find a hack for Counter-Strike, you download it, so eager to run it and kick some butt, and then you find out later someone has been recording all your Game CD-KEYs, your Paypal account, credit cards, bank information, social security number, and there you go, now you have been a victim of identity theft.
Any smart person would just install a Anti-Virus and use common sense first.
So hopefully you all got a better understand of Game Hacking, and why it really isn’t a good idea unless you want to do it to better understand how computer games work and how hacking a computer game can be accomplished, don’t abuse game hacks, in the end they will cost you money getting banned from protected servers and games!
