Facebook Game Review: Ravenskye City
From the creators of Ravenwood Fair, LOLapps, comes an equally cutesie game, Ravenskye City. This time with birds. Lots and lots of birds, but not angry ones.
Like most Facebook games, this one comes with the ever depleting energy bar and tons of reasons to bug your friends to play with you. A lot of the ‘quests’ can only be accomplished with the help of ‘friends’, which doesn’t sell me on the game. However, the graphics are cute, the story is ever evolving, like Ravenwood Fair, and there is a variety of things to do.
You start out as a young bird looking for adventure and finds it in the ruins of Ravenskye City. You start out with a base camp and other little birds roaming about and doing stuff at the ‘dig’ site. There is even one named Annie, hee-hee. Each of those birds will assign you quests and require you to build, clear vines and rubble, and restore historical places, some of which will also speak to you and give you things to do.
Its all fairly well put together, with an easy to follow tutorial, and the beginning levels are easy to attain. The graphics are well done, and the story is okay, if a bit simplistic. The kids will enjoy playing this one, even if the adults are put off by it. A bit like enduring Barney.
I give this one 3 ½ cute stars out of five.
