Farmville: Experience Cost

A post on the cost of experience points in Facebook’s Farmville by Zynga.

Alright, well I know I said that I would be making another post in regards to Farmville and the profitability of animals and trees.  Well, I just wanted to make sure that I’ve done all the calculations right before I post that one; however, I decided to make a post that I was almost 100% sure was completely correct which is regarding the purchase of experience (XP).  As always, be sure that if you find any mistakes that you let me know.

So earlier when I mentioned the purchase of experience, you probably said to yourself, “Did I miss something?”  The answer to that question would be, “No.”  By that statement, I meant what I am presenting to you below, no that we can actually purchase XP.  The chart listed below shows how much experience you will receive for each purchase you make of the item referenced.  Let me know if you have any questions.

NOTE: This only includes items purchased with Coins, not FV.

Formula:

XPC = Cost/XP

Columns:

Item – The item’s name

Cost – The coins it will take to purchase the item.  This will factor in the cost of plowing for seeds.

XP – The experience received for purchasing this item.

XPC – The cost for each point of experience for the item purchased.

    Plowing also gets you one experience point. Maybe I will make my Google Docs spreadsheet public but it’s based on your data so props my friend! Anyway, by this you should add 1 to each of the seed crop experiences. And a common trick I was taught was the §10 per Exp trick: plow (§15 + 1 Exp), sow Soy (§15 + 2 Exp) then delete (§0 + 0 Exp) and repeat. Net §30 out, 3 Exp in or 1 Exp for §10 and time can be as short as less than a minute but clicking “Are you sure” boxes is right tedious!

    This has already been added in here, which is why Soybeans is listed as having an XP Cost of 10 coins (which you’ve noted). I will however resort the list to make the top of the list the cheapest, instead of vice versa.

    If you wanted to get super SUPER fancy, you could do XPCPH. (XPC per hour). While planting is the best cost, it is slower than buying tons of hay bales and selling them. This is boring and unprofitable, but it is incredibly fast and the “cheapest fast way” to get on-demand xp. I often do this to round off the last bit of a level after a big harvest. I think I bought near 100 once. Whether XPCPH is chart-worthy is questionable, but this strategy deserves mention.
