Be sure to use different types of trees, because that will allow you to collect ribbons, which offer you a large XP and coin bonus, and always remember to have a certain number of trees growing, as this will let you co-ordinate harvests, plan out how to get to your farm in time to gather the fruits, and work towards even more ribbons.
