How to Launch an Attack in Travian
A how-to guide on sending attacks from one village to another in the browser game Travian.
Sending an attack from one village to another in the browser-game Travian is a relatively simple process. It is also one of the four basic ways to interact with other players, albeit in an offensive way. To launch an attack there are certain basic requirements which you must have met in order to launch the attack:
- A village to send the attack from: This village is the one which contains and controlls the troops and horses which will be used in the attack. A village will not be able to use reinforcements from another village in an attack.
- A troop to use in the attack: At least one unit must be participating in the attack in order for the attack to be launched.
- A target village: This village cannot be the village you are sending the attacks from. A target village can be selected using the map tool, the statistics tool, or by manually entering the village coordinates into the rally point. You can attack your own villages if you choose to.
- A rally point: The village launching the attack must contain a functioning rally point. This is a fairly easy requirement to meet as you will not be able to make troops without a rally point as it is the unit of the technology tree before the barracks or stable.
Once all of the requirements are met, select your target using either the map, statistics, or rally point. Once the target is selected further options are available depending on the troops participating in the attack. If your attack is composed only of scout units, you will receive an option to scout either the troops & resource amount of the target village or the troops & wall level of the target village. If there are no scouts in the target village then your scouting attack should go unnoticed. If you have a catapult or other seige unit in your attack, you will receive an option to select which building you want your catapult/s to target. The buildings available to target will increase depending on the level of the rally point. An option you will always receive though is the option to reinforce the target village, to raid the target village, or to attack the village normally.
Attacking the village by raiding is slightly different from attacking a village normally. Catapults can only be used in a normal attack. Also in a normal attack, all the troops participating on either side of the battle will continue to fight until the other side is entirely destroyed. In a raid, the attacking troops will fight but will not entirely destroy the defending army. Raids are generally safer than normal attacks because of the fact that you’re forces will not be entirely obliterated unless the defending army has a extremely larger defense than your attacking army. Also you will not be able to launch normal attacks against a player whom you are sitting for. That being said, attacking is a simple way to interact with another player in an offensive manner.
