Mafia Wars Leveling Guide

A guide to playing Mafia Wars and leveling at least three times per day for the first 50 levels.

This is just a simple guide to growing at least 3 levels per day for at least the first 50 levels during the beginning of your Mafia Wars career.

First off, you want to start by doing jobs(obviously). Do as many jobs as you can. You can either wait till your energy builds up enough and do a job again or wait till your energy full restores and empty it again. Either way it will take the same amount of time.

Every time you level, your energy (along with your health and stamina) will return to max, which is very helpful, especially at higher levels. Also when you level, you will receive 5 skill points. At first, all you want to use these skill points is for energy. Whenever you complete a level of a job tier, you will receive 1 skill point. I recommend using these to build up your attack, defence, and stamina. It’s always better to wait till you level to use your skill points so you don’t have to keep going back and forth using them up. But make sure you keep your attack and defence up so if you get attacked, you have a better chance of winning.

You will also want to build up your mafia as quick as possible to help when attacking and being attacked.  I have a guide (Mafia Wars: Building Your Mafia) that can help you with his.

When you level, you will have the option to share this with friends. Make sure you post as much as you can to your wall to help out your mafia. Also, figure out who the good posters are and visit their pages regularly to collect anything they may have put up. You will also find things immediately after doing a job. Chose whichever suits you and post it. There will only be 5 of whatever you take available. You get one and the other 5 are for the first 5 people in your mafia that take them. When your mafia gets larger, these things can go in seconds. You will also get achievements, which you can post and also offer things. Later on in the game, you can post to get someone to help you with a job. Don’t do this as it is pointless. Some people do it, but it isn’t of much use. Note: you can’t collect stuff from anything you post.

Make sure you master each tier of a level of jobs and you master each level of each job. This will put your level ahead of where you are in the game, which will make the later levels easier than just going through each group of jobs as they pop up. Some jobs also give you materials you will need for later jobs.

As you progress, your money will build up faster and faster. I have another guide (Mafia Wars Money Guide) to show you what to do with your money.

Sometimes, you have to wait for your energy to build up to do a job, so this leaves you some free time. But their is something that you can do to earn experience: Fighting. When you click on the fighting tab, you will see a list of people, their highest job completion if they have it displayed(Note: you can set it to whatever you want as long as you have mastered that level of each job), and the amount of people in their mafia. What you want to typically look for is people with smaller mafias than you. Their is an achievement of attacking someone that has a larger mafia than you and winning. Once you feel you can do this, do it once and forget it. You may also notice the Hitlist. Once you get to a higher level in the game and have a decent attack/defence, you can start looking at the Hitlist. Don’t do hits worth less than $1,000,000(1 million dollars). This is only a good idea if you want quick cash. Chances are you won’t win most of the time. You can spend an hour on the hitlist attacking people and not be the one that wins the cash once(Note: you would have to be able to keep your health above 20 and have at least 1 stamina point to attack). The last tab under Fight is Declare War. This is good for seeing how strong you are against people in your mafia. You can also reward your mafia if you win. I recommend you do this at least once so you get the achievement for it.

Once you get about half way through each level, start looking ahead at the next levels and buy the stuff that you will need. But make sure your expenses don’t exceed your income in the Properties tab.

That’s all I have for now. If you have any questions, ideas, or suggestions, please post them and I’ll gladly try to help.

I found this site and bought the e-book and it was amazingly helpful. It has a lot of things I didn’t even talk about.
