Neopets Altador Cup Guide: Tips and Tricks
This updated guide is especially directed for those that are participating in the Altador Cup on Neopets. You may use these tips and tricks to help you get a better score when playing Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger, Make Some Noise, or Shootout Showdown on the Altador Cup – Games page.
Ranks / Levels
Every point you make in the following three games determines what rank you have. If you’re like me, you’ll want the best prizes and trophy you can possibly get by the end of the Altador Cup event.
There are twenty different ranks. The highest rank you can achieve is All Star. The following list will explain how many points you need for each rank: Rank 1: 50-99.99 points, Rank 2: 100-149.99 points, Rank 3: 150-199.99 points, Rank 4: 200-274.99 points, Rank 5: 275-349.99 points, Rank 6: 350-424.99 points, Rank 7: 425-499.99 points, Rank 8: 500-599.99 points , Rank 9: 600-699.99 points, Rank 10: 700-799.99 points, Rank 11: 800-899.99 points, Rank 12: 900-1024.99 points, Rank 13: 1025-1149.99 points, Rank 14: 1150-1274.99 points, Rank 15: 1275-1399.99 points, Rank 16: 1400-1549.99 points, Rank 17: 1550-1699.99 points, Rank 18: 1700-1849.99 points, and Rank 19: 1850-2000 points.
To determine how many points you have, basically give yourself one point for each Yooyuball win, one point for every two Slushie Slinger games played, and one point for every twelve Make Some Noise games played. New Info: You will also earn one point for every twelve Shootout Showdown games played. However, you must give somewhat of an effort when playing because Neopets has recently added a minimum score that has to be reached in order to make the games count.
Yooyuball
On the controls page, it will tell you that the up arrow key will allow you to move all players back to their starting positions. This actually refers to the shift key. Thus, you should hit the shift key when you need to put your players back where they began. This comes in handy when you need your defenders back to defend the goal.
With the exception of Darigan, Faerie, and Mutant Yooyus, you’re basically using the same strategy when trying to score. You should try to aim for one of the back corners of the opponent’s goal while shooting the Yooyu diagonally.

When you get the hang of playing Yooyuball, scoring almost becomes second-nature. You probably won’t need the defense so much, so it’s a good idea to switch from using a 2-2 team setup to a 1-3 setup, so you have three team members on the offense. This makes scoring easier, because you’ll have one of your team members starting at the center, which is right next to the Yooyu.
Slushie Slinger
You should have no trouble completing the first few levels since there are few customers demanding slushies from you. However, the slushie shop will eventually be crowded with customers and you’ll have little time to complete their orders. When the job gets hectic, you are able to give the customers ANY flavored slushie and they’ll accept it. Of course, you won’t get as many points, but you’ll survive in the game longer, which will allow you to earn more points in the long run.
Make Some Noise
My general strategy for this game is to take two fingers and place them on the two keys I’ll be tapping. Sometimes, you’ll get troublesome keys that are hard to get a high score on. In this case, it’s a good idea to refresh the page so you can get a comfortable set of keys to tap. I don’t really worry about keeping a pattern when tapping the keys. Instead, I just hit them both at the same time as fast as my fingers allow me to. Just make sure to take short breaks between each game or your wrist won’t like you much in the morning!
Shootout Showdown
This is arguably the easiest game that the tournament has ever included. All I had to do was move the Yooyuball all the way to the left and aim for the left corner of the goal. When the goalie moved to the right, I just let the ball fly and I scored a goal practically everytime!

Well, those are all the tips and tricks I have at the moment for the Altador Cup. Be sure to check later as this page may be updated with more information. In the meantime, good luck to you and your team. Personally, I’ll be rooting for Darigan Citadel. May the best team win!

Goooo Darigan Citadel!!!!
Good to see a fellow Darigan Citadel supporter here.
It’s too bad to see that we ended up in 7th – 8th place this year.
The controls page for yooyuball is actually correct; if you look at the page, the button is too wide for the up arrow, and if you look at the shift key on your keyboard, you will see that right underneath the word ’shift’, it has the exact same up-facing arrow as shown on the controls page.
Oh, thanks Someone. I submitted several fixes to this guide to update it for Altador Cup IV. The changes should take place in the next day or so.
Here’s a helpful tip for people who are still looking for a team: Krawk Island and Shenkuu have the best odds of winning so far.
How many games do you have to play for one point with Shootout Showdown?
Nobody knows yet. Btw, KRAWK ISLAND RULES! WE WILL WIN! ALL JOIN KRAWK ISLAND AND PLAY YOUR HEART OUT!
i have 200 goals scored but im still beginer
Nicely done, cappy128. You actually have to win 50 Yooyuball games, not just score 50 goals in order to earn Rank 1.
Thank goodness we no longer have to refresh the page just to get our Yooyuball scores counted. I can’t wait to find out Day 2’s results with Krawk Island and Shenkuu already against each other.
Lost desert! Go Go
DD Everybody do their best !!
It turns out that you will earn one point towards your rank for every twelve Shootout Showdown games played for Altador Cup 4.
To make your games count, you must also reach a minimum score of 300 in Slushie Slinger and 3000 in Make Some Noise.
i’m going for krawk i’v scored about 500 goals in 80 games lol
I’m also supporting Darigan! Nice guide.=)
JOIN TEAM HAUNTED WOODS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I alredy have 249 points in yooyu ball lol and im still rank1
Not bad, Ram. Just remember that you need 100 Yooyuball wins, not goals, to achieve Rank 2 (if you don’t include the other games in the equation).
d c rules!!!
Darigan Citadel are starting to fall behind in the rankings a little.
LOST DESERT FTW!!!
Do you still get your points for Slushie Slinger after you’ve played it 3 times?
Jay, if you sent your score three times, you won’t get any more neopoints. You’ll still get points towards your Altador Cup rank and team though.
“Here’s a helpful tip for people who are still looking for a team: Krawk Island and Shenkuu have the best odds of winning so far.”
Whoa. I never would have thought that KI and SK would actually earn first and second place after the numerous lead changes that took place during the last week or so.
If Krawk Island wins Altador Cup IV, I wonder if Shenkuu will win Altador Cup V, thereby repeating the same pattern of the last three tournaments. I doubt that this will happen because enough people have heard the theory to cause Shenkuu to have a lot more freeloaders next year than currently expected.
Before I get ahead of myself, good luck to all the teams in the final round!
WHAhahahaha Shenkuu is much better Shenkuu Rocks! >:)
