Abyss Runecrafting

What is the Abyss?- The abyss is an area that has portals leading to all the rune altars including, nature, law, cosmic, chaos, death, and blood.

What’s the catch?- Upon entering the Abyss you are “Skulled” and will lose all items when you die for the next 30 minutes. The Abyss is also full of monsters that are level 40, 60, and 80 so it is not recommended for low combat levels. To enter the area with rifts leading to the Runecrafting Altars, you must try to go through a skill obstacle until you can enter.

Please Note: You need to be a member to craft any kind of Rune with the Abyss. When you enter the Abyss, you are “skulled” (a skull appears above your head) and will drop all item when you die unless you use the protect item prayer, then you keep one item.

Runecrafting is widely accepted on of the fastest ways to make money, anywhere from 150k per hour at level 44 to 600k per hour at level 91.

Before you can use the abyss and make money, you need to Complete the Mage Of Zamorak mini-quest. Here is a link to a guide on it. First you need 27 Runecrafting so you can make cosmic runes , for lower level runes it is not worth the danger of using the abyss. I recommend buying pure essence on the grand exchange instead of mining it yourself, you gain Runecrafting XP more quickly and depending on your mining level, make more money this way

Once you reach 35 Runecrafting you can make chaos runes, make those until you have 44 Runecrafting. The abyss is very useful here because you do not have to go through the chaos altar maze to make them.

Once you are at 54 Runecrafting make law runes. Note: you cannot bring any items with combat bonuses into the law altar. Then make laws until you reach level 91 Runecrafting.

At level 91 Runecrafting you are able to make two nature runes per pure essence, more than double what you can make by making single natures. You can also speed up how much money you make by using energy potions.

Pouches

You can also kill monsters in the abyss to get essence pouches, allowing you to carry more than 28 essence per trip. Essence pouches degrade over time but can be recharged by the Dark Mage in the center of the Abyss for free. Monsters in the Abyss also drop Abyssal Charms for use with the Summoning skill.

1 Runecrafting – Small Pouch – 3 extra essence

25 Runecrafting – Medium Pouch – 6 extra essence

50 Runecrafting – Large Pouch – 9 extra essence

75 Runecrafting – Giant Pouch – 12 extra essence
