A Guide to RuneScape
This article will help you get on your feet in the world of Runescape.
Hi, im here to help you on your journey on the MMORPG Runescape!! This is entirely for new people to runescape and i will only cover the F2P part in this article. F2P= free to play.
When you first start off in Runescape you will probably be wondering: “How do i make money??” Easy, just kill some monsters around Lumbridge (the town you start out in after Tutorial island). Kill some some chickens and sell the feathers in the Grand Exchange. This will get you a signifigant amount of money for you and help you level up. After you sell your feathers, go to Draynor and take the small net you got at the beginning and begin fishing shrimp. Once you have reached a high enough level to fish trout, go buy a fly fishing rod and some bait and fish them for some extra cash. If you are a particularly high fishing level, go to karajama and fish swordies and lobster. You can also cut down trees for cash too. Just cut the highest level tree you can and sell them.
Leveling Up
To start off, combat levels are determined by the amount of defence, strength, hitpoints, magic, and range levels you have. the more levels you have in these areas thehigher your combat will be.
Once you start killing monsters you will realize how many different skills there are to train. (Range, magic, attack, strength, etc.) If you want to train range go get a bow and some bronze arrows to start out and go kill some chickens. For level 20-35 range go find some cows and train on them for awhile. After 35 range, you have your pick on which monster you would like to train on. You could go into the security stronghold and kill goblins or minatours, or you could go kill hill giants west of varrock. for 70+ range i suggest lesser demons on karjama.
For magic its kind of the same concept. Magic is also very expensive! To start off, get some runes from the arbury in varrock. (An elemental staff could help you for the spell you are trying to cast. Elemental staffs require no air, fire, earth, or fire runes for that spell depanding on what staff you buy.) Cast air strikes on chickens until your are able to cast water strike and so on. The higher your magic becomes the higher damaging and other spells you are able to cast therefore you are able to kill higher level monsters.
Melee is a very big part of the runescape life. Strength determines how much damage you will inflict upon your opponent. Attack will determine how often you hit an opponent. Defence is how often you are hit by an opponent. Hitpoints are self-explanitory. (Hit points is your health, if your health reaches 0 you die and will be teleported back to Lumbridge. Unless you are in a bounty world. If you are in a bounty world you will be teleported back to Edgeville. To start off melee, kill some chickens with str unil you strength is laround 15. Then get your attack level around 10. ( I perfer to have strength higher than attack. Other people may have different preferences.) Defence is your choice. People like to make pure with only 1 defence and max out strength and have attack at 40 for rune weapons, or the max out range and strength with 40 attack for a range/2h hybrid. This choice is entirely up to you but if this account is your first and your main i would get all the levels you can.
