ABC 99 Woodcutting in Runescape
Want 99 woodcutting, and get alot of money doing it? Check out my guide, you won’t regret it.
What you will need:
- Woodcutting Axes: Iron/ Bronze, Steel, Mithril, Addy, Rune. (Dragon if you have the amount of cash you need to purchase one. The dragon axe is not a necessity, but I can prove very helpful.).
- Patience, this will not come easy, but following this guide and hard work will pay off in the long run
- About two hours or more on the computer a day, if you can’t get on for this amount of time, the process will take too long
The Beginning: Levels 1-15:
- Levels 1-15 will go very fast and you will have no problem with this at any level. Simply cut down regular trees for these short and sweet levels.
Estimated time to complete: Less than 1 hour.
Axe to use: Bronze or Iron, you can switch to steel or a black axe as you level.
You’re First Real Leveling: Levels 16-29:
- Welcome to the second step of this process. During this step you will use cut oak trees down to level. The difference between the first step and this step is that the tree that you are cutting will give you more than 1 log before falling to the ground. This will make it easier for you to woodcut more logs.
*TIP*
Members: Woodcut right outside of Camelot bank, there are two trees with the bank just a click away so you don’t have to worry about dropping all 28 of the oaks to the ground.
Free Players: Cut on the big tree outside of bank, there is a bank just a click away, but there is only one tree, unlike members. If you are free to play, I’m warning you now that 99 woodcutting will not be easy, and it will take a while longer for you. I would recommend advancing to member’s benefits before attempting this, but if you don’t want to, I will work you through the process never less.
Estimated Time: Less than an hour
Axe to use: Iron or steel, a bronze would work to but it will slow you down.
Now You’re Rolling: Levels 30- 59:
- You may not realize it, but you just added thirty levels to your total, very impressive. Moving on, these are fun easy levels but they will take much loner than 1-30 witch probably made you think 99 was going to be easy to receive. What you are going to do is cut willows all the way to 50.
- Members cut them in Catherby
- Free Players cut them in Draynor Village (Beware of dark wizards if you are low combat)
- (Free Players, please ignore this step and continue cutting willows as directed above.) Members, at level 50, witch to maples, found behind Camelot bank. They will sell for 45 GP each, and they are fast. The bank is just a click away so you might actually begin to make some money here.
Estimated Time: 3-6 Days. (Could go faster depending on how much time you spend on the computer.)
Axe to use: Mith at the beginning, then switch to addy, then at the end switch to rune.
Stuck In the Middle: Levels 60- 75
- Now, you are at the levels that will begin to take a long amount of time.
- At the beginning, levels 60-64, I would like to recommend that you cut willows, to decrease the amount of time it will take for a full load of yews, witch is long at first
- Once level 64, you have the choice, I would recommend staying at willows, but if you must switch to yews and much some money
- Level 70 comes along, if you have not switched from willows to use o strongly suggest you do so to make some money, but you do not have to listen to this, willows will work all the way to 99 if you want to continue cutting them
Estimated Time: 10-20 Days (Once again, this could be shorter if you cut willows, but you will come out with less money, and less of a gain).
Finishing the Job: Levels 76-99
Before you begin this step, let me inform you that you have a few routes you can take, but all with their advantages and disadvantages.
- Way number one is cutting willow logs, this path will be the fastest, but the least rewarding. You will probably only make 2,200,000 million GP going all the way from 76-99…Seems like decent money, but considering how long this will take you it is not very good money.
- Yews (Recommended) – This will take you the middle amount of time, and get you the middle amount of cash. You will make about 20,500,000 GP going from 76-99 on this route; witch is a good amount of cash to have for other things like fletching, cooking, fire making, etc.
- Magic logs is route number three, this will be the most rewarding but will take a very long time for 76-99. You will make about 45,000,000- 55,000,000 Million GP taking this route but it could take you up to eight- twelve months for 99.
The choice is yours, enjoy.
Axe to use: Dragon, or Rune.

is rune axe better than dragon?
i think that d axe is better than rune axe because it has getter xp when cutting yews and better xp when cutting willows so i wud think that it is good for wc
i think that willows would be good coz yews cut too slow with rune axe as with dragon axe it is diffrent

going from 79-90 u make 4.5M on willows. (i have to cut 12.5k yews till 90 then 32k mages till 99) should take me a while

This guide is pretty good but If your a free player in runescape and only want xp in Woodcutting then I suggest you to cut Willow’s at Port Sarim because it is less crowded and 4 good Willows to cut, the Willow tree’s are by the beer shop of Port Sarim, If you want to make money then I suggest you to cut Yews at Falador since it is less crowded or cut at Varrock behind the palace.
Also cut with no armour and leave your axe in the inventory since it provides you to cut faster.
pretty good guide im 90 wc atm shoudnt take me long chopping willows (im not botherd about cash)

I think willows to 99 are the far the best for speed, although if u r one of them ‘money lovers’ then i suggest yews (as most of you do) to 99 because they r no too slow, and they have decent money.

i personally think maples are pretty good xp too, and better cash than willows, you should add this option to your guide
hi… its a cool guide… i got my wc to 99 by chopping willows dey give da best amt of xp so i think willows rule… mages r slow even at 99…so i suggest chop willows

Uhm, thats false info… it does NOT take 8-12 months to 76-99 cutting mages.. it takes like 2 months at leasst.
The fastest way is not willows. It is teaks. I would advise that you do not do teaks, my friend got banned for dropping teaks to fast. So I would stick with willows. If you haven’t done monkey madness, then yes willows are fastest.

hey im 99 wcing i was just having a look around and found this its quite good
i did yews all the way for level 60 and made 26m loved splashing the cash afterwards =D yews and magic’s seemed to get faster and level 93-94 i used to get about 200k xp every 5 hours at yews at lvl 90+ but i didn’t concentrate so you can proberly get it faster than me 
it took me 3 months from level 60 – 99 doing yews and 2 weeks from 1-60.
