Arcanist’s Guide for Free Players: Arcane Arrow
In-depth guide to the common Arcane Arrow.
Arcane Arrow is one of the most common Free spells you can have. It’s sort of a weak spell (4 arrows of 10 damage each, or 40 damage), but has many, many uses.

Tunneling
Arcane Arrow is used for tunneling. Usually a player aims for a spot, uses Arcane Arrow, then walks through the tunnel they made and uses Arcane Arrow again. Usually tunnels are underground, so it’s hard to hit the player. You can tunnel in any map, but the best place is Grassy Hills. Just remember the tips you use in Grassy Hills, and carry it on to other map settings.
1a. The Tunneler
This is the one more common use of Arcane Arrow. It’s mostly used in Grassy Hills, which has prime spots for tunneling.
First, you need to find a good spot to tunnel. The best spots are on the sides of the map. There are little indents where you can teleport, or even jump down if you’re lucky.

The spot with the tree is one of those luckier spots. You can walk right, and fall down without drowning.

From there, you can tunnel. But remember, other players can also just jump down to get to your tunnel area. I suggest trying to destroy the tree so if a player tries to follow you, they’ll just drown.
Next, begin tunneling. Go to your desired spot. But beware – if another player has teleport, they can teleport in front of your tunnel, and block you. The best part about tunneling with Arcane Arrow is that many arcane spells don’t damage your character – only opponents.

Once you’re safely in your tunnel, you can do a number of things. Get in a castle, power up some Imps, attack from above with fire, or just keep low. If you’re in a Free-For-All game, use tunneling so the rest can attack each other while your safe. But beware – if you’re on a map that has an effect that can attack you from below, you might not want to camp out in your very low, very vulnerable tunnel.
1b. Stopping the Tunneler
Well your opponent is smart – they know how to tunnel. How to you stop them? There are lots of ways!
Like mentioned before, you can teleport in front of them. They’ll panic, of course. If you’re lucky, the tunneler will be near the edge of the water, and you can blast them off in the water, claiming the tunnel as your own.
Another way to stop them is to put an Arcane Sigil in front of them. If they run into it, they’ll be stunned, and not able to move. The only disadvantage to this is that they can use an Arcane Tower to absorb the Glyphs, and gain more health.

2. Using in Close Combat
Of course, like any spell, you can just hit your opponent to deal damage. Specifically with Arcane Energizer, Arcane Arrow can be a very good spell to use when attacking opponents straight-on. The best part about Arcane Arrow, is that it has 4 seperate arrows, which means 4 chances to attack your opponent.
For example, if your opponent was hidden behind a skinny, tree, you could still aim for it, because the Arcane Arrow would cut through the tree.

2a. Hitting Areas You Usually Can’t
Arrows are great. They can hit areas that you would never imagine you could hit! Here’s one example – the side of the mountain hit.
1. Be in the right position. Some players will hide behind a mountain to avoid being hit.
2. Go up to them. Aim right.
3. Hit them! Hopefully they’ll fall into the water!

You can do the same for many other areas. Just think about where you’re positioned, where your target is positioned, and how the curve of the Arcane Arrows can hit them. And never be afraid to hit up close – remember, Arcane Arrows never hurt their user.
3. Effectiveness
First, the arrow will fly in an arc towards the target, and if it can’t reach it, it will use it’s energy to go around in a circle and aim towards the target. The turning diameter is about 3 Arcanists around, so depending on the target, it can be extremely difficult to make it hit the right object.
3a. Arcane Engergizer
If you have Arcane Energizer, your Arrows will deal 15 damage each, for a total of 60.
3b. Stopping Arcane Arrow
Depending where you aim it from, a Flame Shield or a Flame Wall could deflect the Arcane Arrows. If they are coming from the air, they will deflect and hit something else.
4. Other Uses
Another common use for Arcane Arrow is shifting the landscape. It’s like tunneling, but used more for your advantage. For instance. If you’re here, and want to be there, you can use Arcane Arrow to create a tunnel for you to move.

You can also aim for places that will make it unable for a player to jump over things.

4a. Imps
Usually players will power up their imps with Arcane spells. A common way is Arcane Arrow. Players usually stack up the imps, and aim the arrows at them. Watch out spending too much time stacking up the imps, and make sure you’re always in an Arcane Tower when powering up imps. (Later articles)

4b. Towers
Similar to using Arcane Arrow to power imps, you can add HP to yourself (or a team partner) when you’re (or they’re – later articles) in an Arcane Tower. (By now you should be able to tell Arcane spells compliment other Arcane features). Once you’re in your tower, select the target point as yourself, and either aim up or down. Most of the arrows will go to you, adding on to your HP. The max HP you can have with an Arcane Tower is your regular HP plus 100. Usually it takes 3 turns to reach max HP in a castle with Arcane Arrow (not including Arcane Energizer). If you’re lucky, it’ll take 2 turns.

Well, that’s Arcane Arrows for you. Very useful, if used the right way. This is one of the spells I’d recommend practicing in the Sandbox, or just in a game. If you have any other Arcane Arrow tips, please comment, and I’ll look into them and add them.

FYI, teleporting onto the side of grassy hills can easily be countered by aiming a fire arrow slightly above the person, knocking him/her into the water.
hey do you know that if member is flying in air with a wind sheild and you aim arcane arrows at him it will hit b/c the arcane arrows will wear down the sheild but at first the arcane arrow doen’t hit they rvolve around him but they will get him.
