BlackMetal’s Rune Scimmy Pure Guide
This is a guide for Runescape that will turn you into a massive PKing tank!
To start things off by clarifying some terminology:
- R Scimmy = Rune Scimitar
- RS = Runescape
- PK = Player Killing
- HP = Hit Points, or health
- XP = Experience
Ok, now down to business. First create a new Runescape account. Go through the tutorial and try not to bring any skills up to 2. When finished with the tutorial, go up to the second floor of the Lumbridge Castle. Talk to the Duke, who will give you a quest. This is known as the Rune Mysteries Quest. Once finished, you will have access to the Runecrafting skill, the art of making runes. Sell all the runes you have from the tutorial to Aubury, one of the people you have to talk to in the beginning of the game. Next go to the bank and buy 25 rune essence for all the gold you have.
Now you will make some money without having to raise any skills, thus keeping your pure. Change worlds to world 16 if you aren’t there already. If the rune essence you bought is noted, then turn it into an item and head to Falador, which you can get to by taking the road west out of Varrock. If you are a new player then a map would be invaluable.
Once you get to Falador, make your way to the air altar, but make sure you have your air talisman. The air altar is depicted here as #21
You will find a “mysterious ruin”, which you should use your air talisman on.
You will notice a lot of people here. This is normal. This is a way to get quick cash called Air Running. You will see some high level people saying “Open”. Trade with them and give them all the rune essence you have in your inventory. They will give you 2,000 Runescape gold, also known as 2k, and 25 noted rune essence. Take this back up to the bank, #13 on the map and withdraw it as an item. Then you go back and repeat this process over and over until you have 40,000 Runescape gold. Use your home teleport spell, and then head over to Al-Kharid.
Look a little north of the palace (#1) and find the shop with the sword on it. Here, Zeke sells scimitars, one of the best weapons in the game. Buy an iron, steel, and mithril scimitar. Then go to the bank, or number 2, and buy a rune scimitar for 28k. Buy a adamant scimitar for all the money you have left. Equip the iron scimitar and head over to Lumbridge, where all the chickens are kept. Find a chicken coop and train your attack up to 5 and your strength up to 10. Now you can equip your steel scimitar and do more damage. Keep training on these chickens until you have 20 attack and 20 strength. Equip your mithril scimitar. Never train your defense, or you will ruin your pure.
Now head over to the monastery, which can be found here:
There is no need to bring food, because these monks will heal you if you talk to them. Kill these monks until you have 25 attack and 20 strength. Now bring your strength up to 30. Then bring your attack up to 30, and then equip your adamant scimitar. Keep training your attack until you have 40. Now you can equip your R Scimmy, which will do massive damage. Now you don’t have to train your attack anymore. Just keep on training strength. Shoot for the stars, go for 99 strength.
When you have 60+ strength you might feel like venturing into the wild for some PKing. Bring food such as lobsters or swordfish.
When you reach 60 strength, become a member. Train on rock crabs. They have 40 hp, but barely ever inflict damage, so they are perfect xp.

Str pures are useful but can be owned fairly easily. To be a good pker train str range and mage and get a team together. Then ull really start owning.

hmmm…rune scimis dont really inflict “massive damage”. sure theyre fast but theyre only good if ur str is pretty high…like 80

I think this guide is pretty useful, but could i use on my account? he has 52 attack 51 strength and 49 defence. obviously, i cant be a pure if i have 49 def, but if i leave it and get my attack and strength to 80 what would my character would i be called??
your character cant be a pure now he has 49 def. if you have 40+ attack then become a member and get your attack up to 60 then get a dragon weapon. after that just raise strength like crazy. you will be a very good pker
i think thik all pure strength own because rangers and magers are throwing money away but pure strengths don’t and all u rally need is a strength ammy scimmy and a 2h.=}
I think that str goes well wit mage coz u attck close up and then u use mage from a distance and bind. By 99 str and 60 mage ull b owning =)

i am really happy with guide. it good. But u should add that getting the monwy while air running and getting the rune scimmy was rwally hard.
when i finish using it i will not have so much fun pking.

The monastry is located west of Edgeville. If you stay on the wildy ditch and go west, you can get there from anywhere. I also have a str pure. Hemisfear X is his name if you want to add him. He is lvl 35 with 40 att and 42 str. He hits 10s and 12s. I didn’t use this guide but it is a fairly good one.

but i accidently raised the defence lvl to 4

not technically but it doesn’t really make a difference. because four skill levels is only 1 combat level. so your really only 1 combat higher than you should be

I’, 10 def and i’m still pure, and i own the hell out of the 1 def pures, especially the str pures. I’m 10 def, 76 range 67 str 1 prey (range/2her). I’ll be putting my pk vid on youtube soon to show the dumb people out there that 10 def pures own 1 def pures. It’s not complete yet, but theres three times where i kill 3 different str pures more then once e.g they ask for a re-match and i own them a second time:). Make a range/2her if you want to beat the str pures, note: it takes a bit more skill then a str pure though.

hi, i made a pure and he has all the scimmys but what i didnt get was i have to train on chickens till i have 20 att and 20 str? are you sure its chickens or like cows or something. and nice guide it working for me

Im poor so thats y i didnt have the obby maul quicker. A good way
to own btw is to get a g maul and an obby maul. Use the g maul
special att twice and then own with obby maul until g maul special
att comes bak. It owns. I use it in dueling arena a lot.

i sort of like your idea but its a bit to complacated i would take for ever to do all that. i would just kill unicorns i herd that there xp is high.but its a pretty good idea,it would proble work.

so a pure acc is nothing now.
“ddsing ppl death” is right wildy is nevr comin back so even if you have a pure lets say that has 45att 80str and 80range or mage and 1def the only place you can use it is in bh for pking, now he may not like bh i do but i still would wish widly was here instead of bh. So even if your owning what happens if you stumble across a 10 lvl higher than you person whos stats were 60def, 60att, 70str, range, and mage, YOUR DEAD! OWNED so start off with making a str pure or range pure but once your done just think about turning him into a rune you never no, they do own!
I have some stuff about skimmys that you should know.
Iron 9 str bonus
Steel 14
black 14
Mith 20
Addy 28
Rune 44
steel skimmy has the best str bonus because you raise 4 atk lvls to weild it and you get 5 more str bonus than steel.
Mithril is awful because you raise 19 stk lvls to get 11 more str bonus. But steel skimmy would not hit anything other than pures with 1 def. Black is also bad because it has the same str bonus as steel. for rune, you raise 39 atk lvls for 35 more str bonus than iron, but you get the additional accuracy, and the mighty rune 2h with 70str bonus. Hope that helped.
hey im working on my str pure he has 20 att atm 53 or 54 str and 1 def (dont worry i know what im doing) and cb 32 or 33 should i get prayer up to 31 or 43? btw nice guide

meh, this guide is ok, instead of doing the air runes thing tho, get to 5attk 1str 1 def by training on men outside lumby castle (to the east by bob’s axes) then kill cowes for their hides. get like 500 and sell them for 60000 on the grand exchange. then go kill goblins at the goblin village until 40-40 but use food they sometimes hit ones.( get the food by begging for trout at the barbarian fishing spot, or train up cooking and pick the raw ones off the ground)
then train on alkharid gaurd ppl
my str pure has 31 pray, 50 str, and 38 attk. combat 42. can land 12’s with addy 2h.

99 atk 99 str 1 def and 70 pray and 99 hp is a good goal for my cb 38: 31 atk, 50 str, 40 hp,
All over a descent guide for beginner pure makers. But a tip that would be easier for training after you get all your weps,gold,etc… Is go to Edgeville. There is a building right next to the bank that spawns men. It is a very nice spot for training/money-making. This way you can collect bones(money),re-new your food whenever, and also you can almost update your weapon immediately. That is just a tip though. Great guide.
P.S. I am looking for a person to make a twin with. If you want to add These characters, as I am frequently on them.
