Cooking Guide: Part One of Three
Helping noobs level 31-60 in cooking to cook.
Cooking guide, part 1 of 3.
Sub section #1, 30-40
Before I tell you anything else I want to you to know all your other choose, y’know, what you could cook besides what I mention,
|
Name of food |
Level needed |
Exp given/ Amount cures/ bites |
How to |
|
Apple pie |
30 |
130, cures 7 per bite, 2 bites |
Make some flour, get some water, a cooking apple, get a pie dish, and then use the flour and water to make pastry dough, use the dough on the pie dish, this will make a “pie crust” then use a cooking apple to make a uncooked pie, you can only cook pies on range. |
|
Tuna |
30 |
100, cures 10 per bite, 1 bite |
Cook a raw tuna on a range or fire. |
|
Plain Pizza |
35 |
143, cures 7 per bite, 2 bites |
Make some flour, get some water, a piece of cheese, and a tomato, use the flour with the water to make Pizza dough, then use the tomato with it, use the cheese on it, and then you will have a “Uncooked pizza” cook it on a range, you can NOT cook a pizza on a fire. |
|
Wine |
35 |
200, cures 11 per bite, 1 bite (not that you really bite it) |
Get a JUG of water and some grapes, use the grapes on the jug of water, you will need to wait for the wine to ferment of course though, once fermented you will receive the 200exp if you fail to make a good batch of wine, you will have “bad wine” rather then just wine. |
|
Cake |
40 |
180, cures 4 per bite, 3 bites. |
Get a cake tin, and the following ingredients; Flour, milk, and an egg. Mix the ingredients in the cake it then cook the cake; you must use a range not a fire to cook the cake. |
From level 30-32 keep cooking salmon/ trout it’s good experience, it’s not much money though. But if you plan to go fighting it will heal 7 and 9 respectively. Not bad, not good really either. Better then nothing, and better then paying for something!
Please note that: the cooking guild (CG) is south of the Grand Exchange (GE).
At level 32 cooking get a chef’s hat, and go to the cooking guild, you now have access to the greatest (or one of the greatest) cooking areas for non-members, you can make pies, cakes, and pizzas, ECT.
This is a very good place for level 32-99 to level up, you can make
(With only the supplies in the guild and the grain behind the guild) apple pie and wine, which is 130exp and 200, respectively, if you’re a non-member you can’t complain, and if you’re a member the CG is very useful since you can then get into the CG bank, I wish I knew how to get in there, but I don’t right now, so too bad, anyway this is a huge advantage since you can just buy what you need, then use it in a split second, so instead of having to take over 7 tomatoes, 7 pieces cheese, and 7 anchovies then make 7 anchovies pizzas then have to run back to the GE you can cut the huge amount of travel time and the frustration, or if you want to bake a chocolate cake then instead of taking a ton of ingredients and probably making 3 cakes (630exp) in one run you can cut travel time from 5minutes to 5 seconds, bank the cakes, and you can tons of money too, you just need to take the grapes and pies dishes, or whatever else you aren’t using, grapes are (about) 250gp EACH, that is awesome, and cooking apples are also (about) 250gp EACH with 3 recurring cooking apples, and 1 recurring set of grapes you make 1k per respawn, well making a bunch of chocolate cakes after staying an hour you’d make 30k (going on the basis that the apples/grapes respawn every 2 minutes) plus the cakes would fetch a fair buck, too but I wouldn’t say how much because I really don’t know, but over all after expenses you’d probably make 40k p/h (576k p/d granted you play non-stop).
One way to get your level up is to make apple pies the only real work you’ll need to do is make the flour, which isn’t too hard you have to leave the guild to get it, it’s right behind the guild.
Step by step explanation to making apple pie in the cooking guild.
Step 1: Get a pot (3rd floor), a jug (3rd floor), a pie dish (2nd floor), and a cooking apple (2nd or 3rd floor).
Step 2: Fill the jug with water. (Ground floor)
If you know how to make flour then skip steps 3-6
Step 3: Go outside, and get some grain.
Step 4: Go back inside; go to the 3rd floor.
Step 5: Put the grain in the hopper, and then operate the hopper.
Step 6: Go to the ground floor and get the flour.
Step 7: Use the water with the flour to make pastry dough.
Step 8: Use the Pastry dough on the pie dish.
Step 9: Use the cooking apple on what was the pie dish.
Step 10: Cook the “uncooked pie”.
Please note that: You can put 25 grain through the hopper instead of just one, this will make the processes a lot faster, and you can pick up more pie dishes and more pots for flour, and more jugs for water, this also make the processes a lot faster you should have your inventory be something like this,
- Pot X4
- Jug X4
- Pie Dish X4
- Cooking apple X4
- Grain X12
For when you start, and you should always have at least 8 spaces for grain unless you already have a lot of flour in the bin, but if you’re dropping the pies you should keep at least 8 spaces for grain.
Also note: If you burn a pie, simply empty the dish (by left clicking the burnt pie) but if you don’t burn the pie, then eat the pie, because you do not want to be some ass who hogs all the pie dishes, seeing as there are only 2 in the guild you would need to wait for them to respawn so it would slow down the entire guild and you, so even if there is just you, you still shouldn’t drop you pies.
This is a very easy way to get your cooking level up, even though it sounds hard. With the pies you can cook the pies then sell them, bank them for later use, or simply drop them. Making the pies is more about the cooking experience anyway; keep in mind that this IS a slower way to get experience then cooking salmon at barbarian village, BUT it is more profitable, and once you get the hang of it, it isn’t to bad, also if you already have you pie dishes, pots, and jugs, you don’t need to worry about competition because grain respawns so faster even if there was 30 people getting grain you’d only need to wait maybe 30 seconds to get your grain and that’s counting the time to actually pick it!
Also once you get to higher levels you can make other types of pies but you will have to bring some of your own ingredients of course, but the problem you might have is that you’re not a member!
Anyway, once you get to level 35 in cooking you can start cooking one of my favorite things to eat, a pizza!
You can only make plain pizzas to start but it’s better then pies mostly because…
- More money! To make pizzas you have to spend more money on option 1, but you do make more money if you use option 2 although option 2 is very… dangerous. I’m not kidding.
- More experience! When making apple pie you get 130 experience, when making plain pizzas you get 143 experience, which isn’t much more, but it does make a difference.
- Better food! If you plan to do what I do (option 2) then the pizza is a better and more convenient then a apple pie, not to mention you need less stuff to do it!
Option 1, Grand Exchange. (143exp per pizza)
You can buy your tomatoes, pizza bases, and cheese from the GE; this is a faster way of making them as long as you can still cook them quickly.
Option 1.33, GE/CG. (143exp per pizza)
You can buy your tomatoes and cheese from the GE and then make the pizza bases at the CG.
Option 1.66 CG/FARM (members only). (207exp per pizza)
If you’re a member you can grow your own tomatoes and then just get some milk from a dairy cow in L’bridge, then churn it into cheese (level 48 cooking required to make cheese also getting you an extra 64exp) then make the pizza bases at the CG, this is a VERY long way of doing things but if you’re strapped for cash and you’re a member it works.
Option 2 WILDERNESS MY WAY. (143exp per pizza)
If you are a very low level (20-) this can be scary, easy, safe, hard, and rewarding.
It’s safe because once you make it to Fat Tony you’re safe from every revenant (except the imp, but I don’t think he comes around there) anyway since you don’t know what I’m talking about I’ll get on with it already.
You need to go deep into the wilderness, level 20-30 is where, you must find… THE BANDITS CAMP! The bandits there will try to kill regardless of your level, the revenants will try to kill you, the revenants are VERY powerful, so if you see a revenant log out IMMEDIATELY, if you see a yellow dot on your map headed your way LOG OUT and NEVER go AFK unless you are above level 90, because otherwise the revenants could kill you.
Once you’re at the bandit’s camp, find the, house with two red dots in it (on your mini-map) run in and close the door after yourself, and keep in mind that you can NOT teleport out except if you’re a member in which case you can use some teleports to leave I believe that the “Amulet of Glory” will allow you to teleport out but I’m uncertain.
Anyway there should be a tomato and a piece of cheese on the table, and Fat Tony, who does really look fat at all. He will sell you pre-prepared pizza bases, for a nominal fee, which is why I suggest you bring at least 1000 gp with you if you plan to stay for a long time (200 pizzas or more) or if you plan to make only a few bring say, 100, (20 pizzas) but if you don’t care about losing 5000gp then bring the 1000gp because there are a lot of cool things to buy in the wilderness, mostly capes, but these capes are cool… anyway, you can make pizza there however long you want, I suggest you make them as fast you can because if a revenant comes and you’d rather not die you’ll want to eat a pizza or 7, also note that there is a General store there, it is different for different people now, because of the new Runescape updates, which I will be covering in greater detail soon, so what I do is I go to the camp and well… camp there making pizzas once I have made 10 or I open the door and stand there, the bandits will swarm at me, only one can attack me at a time since they use melee and I block the door way so no other bandits can get to any other side of me, I kill wave after, wave after, wave after, wave of bandits once I’m out of pizzas I simply start all over again, but beware of revenants, since you have to wait until 10seconds after combat to log out, you’re in a multi-combat zone and, the revenant CAN attack you regardless of whether another enemy is on you (since it has magic spells) so if one DOES attack you and you can’t/ don’t want to fight, then close the door, the revenant can only when they are NOT in pursuit of an enemy (otherwise they would be too hard to deal with and if they could under no circumstances pass through a door that would be odd because they are ghosts) so after closing the door grab and tomatoes/ or cheese that’s there then once you can LOG OUT, sign back into a different world and then if you don’t want to keep making pizzas buy a bunch of pizza bases, grab what you can, then run to level 20 of the wilderness, at this point you CAN warp out of the wilderness, us what you can, home teleport if you must, then once you get back to the GE sell the pizza bases they sell right away most of the time and they sell for much more then what you paid for them. When I do this I tend to make 7k or so experience because I usually make 50 pizzas or so, also since I pack light I can buy 28 pizza bases so in one trip I tend to spend 150 or so, and make 1400-2400gp, keep in mind that the money I spend does NOT account for if I burn any pizza because I rarely do burn my pizza.
Now I’ll tell you what you should do wear, bring, to pull this off!
I have made a 5 non-member (NM) ‘outfits’ I guess you could say, what I wear to the camp, and 2 member (M) ones.
NM1-
If you’re a low level 20- then wear steel, Mithril if you can, but only the platebody and platelegs because if you die you want to keep your armor and your weapon, but keep in mind that a weapon is not necessary if you don’t intend to fight anything, and since your such a low level a revenant won’t attack you, so if you DON’T bring a weapon I’d advise you also wear a sq. shield or kite shield, too since you can retain an extra item without having your weapon.
Nm2-
If you’re a ok player in combat department (40-70) then wear adamant or if you can afford/wear it, rune, but like always, there is a chance you will die, losing all but three of your items, those three being, the most expensive of the items you have, so pack light and only wear a platebody, and platelegs, since you still don’t stand a very good chance against a revenant then bring a shield too.
Nm3- Ok if you’re a really extreme player a long time player (80+) then do this,
Explorer’s ring 3,
Any cape,
Rune Gauntlets,
Combat boots,
A amulet of some sort, I suggest the amulet of power, or amulet of defense,
Full rune, (full helm, kiteshield, platebody, platelegs).
And bring anchovies (level 55 cooking required and 182 experience per pizza) as many as you can carry!
The explorer’s ring is for teleporting
M1- Ok if you’re a weak member (60-) then I suggest you just bring the same stuff as Nm2.
M2- ok you’re a hardcore gamer, a member (90+) and you can destroy anything that’s in your way, wear this,
Full rune,
Dragon scimitar or a abyssal whip if you can/ want to, and as a side arm bring a Dragon dagger P++ if you’d like to Excalibur both side arms for their awesome special attacks,
The best cape you can find, I suggest a god cape, an obsidian cape, or if you have one a trimmed skill cape.
As a shield bring a rune or better shield,
Bring the best type of boots you can find, I suggest armored boots, dragon boots, or my favorite the boots of lightness,
Bring Explorers ring 3 or a ring of recoil,
A Beast of burden if you can, so you can bring more pizza bases out of the camp and more anchovies into the camp,
And most importantly, bring a method of getting out without having to run to level 20 of the wilderness.
I suggest you go and kill revenants after stocking up on pizza, or go player killing in clan wars the food will give you an unfair advantage that will just push you’re team to victory.
Non-member-me-
I wear Rune Platebody,
Rune Platelegs,
Rune scimitar,
Explorer’s ring 3,
And as many anchovies as I can carry!
Now lastly I’ll tell you HOW to make the pizza! Get a pot of flour, a jug of water, use the two together and then make pizza dough, then get your tomatoes and your cheese, use the pizza base on the tomato, be careful though you could end up eating your tomato so don’t use the tomato on the pizza bases it’s more time consuming and it’s a lot easier to screw up, then use the incomplete pizza on the cheese, you may have the same dilemma as you did with the tomato so watch out, anyway once you have you’re uncooked pizza, cook it (duh) use a range, a normal fire will NOT work. Please note that: if you want to add toppings to your pizza, you must add them AFTER you cook the pizza, if you cook a plain pizza and you’re making anchovy pizzas you need to make a plain pizza as you would normally do then RIGHT CLICK either of the two, the plain pizza or the anchovies, then left click USE on the right click menu, then left click on the other component of your pizza, you will gain experience for doing so and in no way can you fail at adding toppings.
Next, WINE! Making a batch of wine will give you 200 experience hence the 200 and some-odd gp it costs for a set of grapes, I have 3 ways of doing this each have a charm and a catch but they all work great!
Option1-GE
Buy a bunch of grapes on the GE and a bunch of JUGS of water do NOT buy buckets of water. Buy say 140 of each (about 35.5k), then take them out of your bank 14 of each at a time, use the grapes on the jugs and then wait for them to ferment, I’m not sure if the wine will ferment in your bank but I doubt it because then if you have no bank space it would get to compacted, also keep in mind that wine can become ‘bad wine’ instead of just wine, but just say it did work and you made 140 good batches of wine that would be, 28000exp, which is quite a bit, but this method is too expensive to me.
Option2-CG
Get a jug, fill it with water, then get some grapes and put them in the jug of water, you have to wait a bit for the wine to ferment, once it has you will receive exp accordingly, if you make “bad wine” you will receive no exp at all, if you make “wine” you will receive 200exp, the grapes will respawn and well you wait for them to respawn you can make pies, make flour, or whatever, it doesn’t take too long, but there is one thing you should watch out for, if you see some one just waiting for the grapes to spawn, go to a less crowded world, and if you can, go to a world with next to no players in it, but has a fun mini-game, like a Fist of Guthix world, or if you don’t intend to leave the guild, a pvp world, also if you can access the bank in the guild then you can just buy then bank like 1k grain you won’t run out very quickly so if you want to make pies or whatever, you can just grab the grain from there.
Option3-VG
You can also kill Guards in Varrock. They aren’t powerful… AT ALL! A level 40 could drop one of these guys in 30 second, they are level 21, I can kill one in 1 hit if I use a rune 2h and activate, “ultimate strength” prayer. And well you kill them you gain some atk/def/str/hit/range/mage/prayer exp if you use melee you can 88 experience per guard (unless you use a shared experience attack in which case you would receive 29.33 exp in atk/def/str)
Anyway what you do is you get 15 or so jugs from the GE you go east, then south, once you see the fountain, go to it a fill your jugs with water, then go to the guards, a lot of the time 3+ players are going after the guards, but that’s just in the front of the castle I prefer to do it in front because I’m fast, and I’m powerful, but if you’re the weaker fellow and by a noticeable amount then go inside the castle, go north-west then north you should see some stairs go up them, there is 3 recurring guards that only some players go after, it’s rather rare, you could see 0-7 players in there a lot of the time, and the only time that there is more then 7 players would be for a video, or for some weird clan related event.
Anyway the guards can drop 3 grapes at one time and a lot of the time people neglect to pick them up, though they are 250gp or so, not a lot of people seem to care, or even know, so you can some times find the grapes on the ground in front of Varrock castle, and if you intend to do this as a sort of, cooking, fighting thing, a jug of good wine will heal 11 but decrease your attack level temporarily, so you can just make a trip to the middle of Varrock to refill your jugs after drinking the wine, doing this IS a very effective method of training for level 40-60s (combat level) and for level 35-70 (cooking level) but not many people use this method, if any!
Anyway sub-section 2 level 40-60 cooking

|
Cake |

|
Anchovy pizza |
55 |
182/ 9 per bite/ 2 bites |
Make a normal pizza then add anchovies to the pizza. |
There are some tricks for these sorts of food, by this I mean the kind of food that you must add something to another finished piece of food to make it into a better piece of food (I’m referring to the chocolate cake, meat pizza, and the anchovy pizza.)
I’ll start off with lobsters, and swordfish, seeing as they both incorporate the same technique.
I have 3 ways of getting the lobsters/swordfish.
Way to get lobsters/swordfish #1
Buy them at the GE-
This isn’t too expensive but you need at least 30k to see results.
But it’s very easy; you buy 135 lobsters/swordfish (5 loads/18.9k swordfish/ 16.2k lobsters), then you cook them, you should be able to find one around the GE if you can’t find one then go to the most packed world you can find, most of the time world 1 will be full or very close to being full.
Just do this as much as you want you can sell the cooked food back or keep it in your bank for future use.
Way to get lobsters/swordfish #2
Go to Karamja docks, you should find a lot of players fishing, go to the most packed world you can find, some players drop their fish, but most sell them at the general store or cook them then sell them. And if no one is dropping there fish then try another world out of the 171 worlds you must be able to find one world with players dropping fish.
Way to get Lobsters/swordfish #3
Go to Karamja docks with a lobster pot (lobsters) and/or Harpoon (swordfish), wielding a hatchet and carrying a tinderbox.
You also need,
Get some logs (3 is good) before you go to the docks because it’s easier then running over to a tree well you have a bunch a fish weighing you down.

i really @%ed up on part of this, this is part two of three, sorry about that lol
huh I pressed I liked it but didnt read the biggest part. Its too long..
ya i know, i try to put as much infomation in at one time as i can, it gets more veiws if i have alot of infomation, and i almost doubt really anyone would read it all since some things wouldn’t alply to them, and i have a long answer for everything anyway.
