F2P RuneScape Combat Info: Melee

Well, combat is by far the most important and usefull skill in the game of Runescape.

Your combat is determined by these factors:
     Hitpoints level and Defence level
     Prayer level
     Summoning level (members only :/)
And also one of the following:
      Attack level and Strength level
      Ranged level
      Magic level

Basically, you want to get your attack, strength and defense up to level 40, so you can use rune. Or 60 for dragon (members). After you do that, work mostly on your strength, because you will hit much harder than if you spent the whole time working on attack. The formula for melee is Damage*4=xp. If you do the controlled one, its Damage*1.33333…  The most commonly used weapons for high-level characters are rune scimitar and rune battleaxe.
