F2P Top Three Monsters to Kill for Money
The top three monsters in Runescape that effectively give you good XP and money.
1. Hill Giants
These guys are easy to kill, drop bones worth 400 gp ea and theres heaps of them. To kill them bringing trout, or ranging them in a safe spot is suggested. Bring Varrock teles (much faster trips). However you will need a brass key to go into the dungeon, or you can buy 1 off players for 1k. In 1 hour you could easily get 150 big bones and 20k exp.
2. Cows
Easy to kill, because they are weak! Go to the Lumbridge cows. It takes around 5 mins to get a full inventory. On your way to Alkharid bank tan them into hard leather. In 1 hour you could easily get around 250 tanned hides. Sell them for 200-250 ea. (Depending on how many you have)
3. Chickens
Believe it or not, chickens are 3rd ranked on top 3 to kill monsters. Go to champions guild near Varrock. Bring whatever gear you like. Every 4 or so seconds you should be able to kill a chicken and pick up feathers. In 1 hour you kill 900. Because they drop an average 10 feathers ea, you will collect 9k feathers in just 1 hour!! Sell them for 5-6 gp ea! This guide works in Lumbridge farm too, but its slower there.

Wow…i never knew that chickens would drop so much…i always regarded chickens as useless NPCs placed on for common noobs…

Does the chicken method works anymore, now that Jagex has placed up the infinite stock update for the stores? Players can just go down to port sarim and buy as many feathers as they want.
chickens actually help i tried it once.
just collect the feathers and sell it at the grand exchange and ~ta-da~ money =D $-$
For noobs i think this could be a great guide for monsters to kill but. i’d suggest killing cockroaches, lessers, and moss giants for higher levels.
READ THIS!
When fighting cows or chickens, pick up EVERYTHING they drop. They drop raw beef-67 coins ea, cowhide-100-120 coins ea, and bones-80-100 coins ea. Also, pick up the feathers because they are stackable ^_^. This is recommended for pures and low levels.

For f2p players, if you’re lvl 60 and above, get a bunch of anchovy pizzas, and kill cockroach soldiers. Drops rune stuff, scimmy, 2h, chain if your lucky. And if you’re less lucky, a few hundred coins. Sometimes you get a lot of law runes. I got 19 in one go. Drops till 25 laws.
um a few coments bak some1 said lessers hurt u to much. NOT SO. they cant do much damage (or maby im just getting 2 used to 99 def and str) =D cheers

hey another good place to to hunt is ice monsters.they drop 1-3laws and 3-5 chaos and some mith to!!!
guys kill the lvl 83 giant Roaches they drop laws (1,20) death (1,15) noted mith ore(3) noted addy ore(1) rune scimmies, rune Sqs at lvl 100 for me I can make about 180-250k an hour here which beats out any skill in f2p for money plus a bank is like 10 seconds away.
Ignore #12 by Cbgz he has no idea what hes talking about they don’t drop rune chains or 25 laws at a time.
Then there are hobgoblins its faster xp than flesh crwalers when ur a higher lvl and there limps sell for a nice 900-1100gold each! if your over 50 defense no food is needed.
Anoku drop addy arrows, noted mith ore, laws also good money.
I would suggest lessers or greaters for someone that i dont like, they are 100% a waste of your time, they have horrible drops,(Jagex needs to update the older monster’s drop and bring them up to par with the new ones) they hit like 9 times as often as other monsters there level o and did i mention they have horrible drops.
For low levels there the usual cows, chickens
the lvl 8 Roaches are good money to they drop limps, red eggs, Noted coal! which is amazing for a lvl 8 and runes and gems.
get some dragon hide and kill dark wizzards, they drop lots of nature runes.
Hill giants are good if there’s not many people there only time you can make money here is on a pvp world when no ones there but the risk is higher

Phat siege, there is no point of picking up everything the cows drop, because the cowhides sell for most, and picking up one item means more xp each trip.

Guys if you want good drops why not just become a member its woth the money for all the better stuff u get… kill green drags on members 50k-100k and invo 10 mins per an invo.. why not try it better than non-members… =]

wow never thought as a chick to be such a useful monster even though i could make that money in 10 mins from yews rather than 1 hour from chickens but good guide for noobs i’d rather perfer coackroaches in 3 days i got 500k worth of rune mid helms.
