Free F2P Magic Exp
Free magic and smith exp.
This guide is for free smithing and magic exp, providing you have at least 43 magic and 30 smithing. You can achieve 1-29 smithing by doing f2p quest The Knights Sword.
This method works best if you have large sums of cash available but can work if you only have 100k too.
For my example i will use nice even numbers that are easy to work with. You buy 3k iron ore and 6k coal ore. You will gain just over 140 gp if you buy the iron ore and steel ore for medium price, smith the steel bars yourself and sell the Steel bar for medium price. When you superheat the bars using magic, you lose 70 gp each bar. That means in order to break even you should superheat 2k steel bars and smith by hand the other 1k bars. The best place to smith these bars is in Al-Kharid, a furnace is located just north of the bank. You get smithing exp for using superheat bar as well.
There it is, probably the best way to get mage up in f2p. When superheating the bars withdraw 18 coal and 9 iron ore, its a 2-1 ratio for all you math whizzes out there=D. Enjoy!
Note-i thought this was obvious but ill say it anyway, wear a fire staff while casting superheat.

The furnace is NORTH of the bank.
And, the bank is SOUTH of the furnace.

Smithing steel requires: 1 iron ore + 2 coal
With super heating: 4 fire rune + 1 nature rune
Total cost: 99 + 2(195) + 4(9) + 224 = 749
Return: 749 – 666 = 83 (Loss)

For F2P with 28 slots, 1 fire rune slot, 1 nature rune slot leaves us with only 26 slots.
Shouldn\\\’t it be 16-8 which is 24?
you are correct about the furnace, i fixed that. You ate supposed to wear a fire staff while casting the spell, i thoguht that was obvious=D. ill include it in my guide though.
