How Quitting RuneScape Will Change Your Life~must Read~quality Article
Why I quit Runescape, and why everyone else should, too. Trust me and quit. You’ll be thanking me in a few years.
This articles give an insight as to why I had my recent multi-billion giveaway, and why I "retired" from being a heavy gamer.
This article is genuine that I wrote, and at the same time is a practice for my writing skills (so you know I’m writing in quality).
I have gone very far and invested a lot in promoting this article for YOUR BENEFIT.
Please read this ENTIRE article before you play Runescape again.
Yeah sure. Just like any game, Runescape is fun if you play once in a while. But when you become obsesses and play nonstop for hours and hours each day, then you’ve got a problem.
I used to play Runescape a lot, then (after 3 years) I got seriously bored after being level 120. Yeah, I was bored even with membership. A lot of you might already know that i quit about 2 months ago, and had a huge contest/giveaway (over billions of GP worth). The huge giveaway costed my entire paypal account, making sure i wouldn’t have anymore money left for membership, allowing me to quit. Why did i quit? Well, ever since the return of Free Trade, hackers went on a wild spree, and in one month i got hacked 4 times (3 minor hacks, and a huge one that robbed my entire bank). The hacks came just around the time i was deciding to quit, which meant that the hacks actually helped me. This sort of brings me to the point as to why you should all quit.
Runescape is just what it is…a game. And every game has flaws and hacks and cheats and scams and lures. Eventually, sooner or later, one of these problems are going to target you. Many of you have already been hacked, and you know the feeling of despair when you’ve just lost 100million. All those months, even years of hard work gone in seconds, stolen by some random stranger. You might think “oh well, not going to happen to me, I’ll be careful.” But that’s no use. You can’t be careful because there are always things you can’t imagine before hand.
Another reason why you should quit? Just like anything in this world, nothing will ever last. In a few years (lets say 10 years) the company will probably close down, perhaps bought out by another larger company. The larger company obviously will care a lot less about its consumer/players, thus dulling the once somewhat majestic game.
Another reason? Well, don’t you ever feel bored of Runescape? Feel that you’re doing more “work” than actually having fun? This means it’s time to change things up a bit. Try something else less addicting, maybe even something more realistic. I recommend a first person shooter game (fps). In FPS games, you’re always just killing people, so it gets a little boring quickly, which guarantees that you won’t get addicted. However, if you just play once in a while, it still is fun.
The biggest problem with Runescape when you become addicted is that your real life will seem less important for you. Your grades will most likely drop and you’ll end up with less friends (as a result of you not wanting to socialize often). This could damage your life permanently! Not to mention gaming for hours each day it not good for your health at all. You’ll lose your physique and eyesight quickly.
If you are always getting membership, there’s another problem. Just think to yourself where you’re getting that money, and the things you would do to get it. Getting a little out of hand maybe. Just think, 1 month is only $5-8. But 1 year? $60-96. Nearly $100! Now just think about all the other things you can do with that money, 5 new shirts? a new jacket? Whatever, even if your parents are paying, you need to think about whether or not it’s worth it. And before you decide, let me tell you that it’s not.
I sincerely hope these reasons change your mind about playing another day of Runescape. It definitely changed mine. If you have any comments or feedback, leave it in the box below. If you have any questions (non-rhetorical) please add me send me a message.
Runescape is just a game for enjoyment, relaxation and rejuvenation. It can be used to escape from stress but all that pointless grinding and regurgitating is detrimental to health, impacts social life and impacts school work. Grinding for 99s makes you feel good, they are a sense of accomplishment. But they can suck up a lot of time, energy and effort. And they are only pixels, not real life items. Quitting Runescape for a few months will work but you will always have the urge to come back to Runescape. You need to really exhibit self control and break free from that urge. Playing too much Runescape is pandemonium.
There is a fine line between obsession and addiction, although there are aspects in the game that might lure unemployed and a youthful audience to the game itself, the game has aspects to keep you thinking you have accomplished or achieved a goal and attracts a sense that you wouldnt otherwise obtain in real life situations which draws the audience. Im a person who has delt with obsession not addiction, and when one views these enterprise for what they are I can tell you that you might have a different over stance on the situation.
